  1. Just one example of why BA should be in there every day.
  2. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 03:49 PM) I really doubt that. So it's unreasonable to think he can hit .260/.270 while hitting for more power than those guys would?
  3. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 03:46 PM) I have a feeling the BA supporters' defense will be it's totally unfair to judge him because he's not getting regular at-bats. It's a given. I just wish he would get at least ONE swing per game that makes you believe he has a chance to hit the ball hard somewhere. For some reason, he reminds me of Rowand when he's in a really big funk. I wouldn't expect BA to hit .300 but he could resemble Pods/Erstad's production while playing gold glove caliber defense.
  4. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 03:39 PM) Our offense will come around eventually, it just will with how good these guys are. But we need to win with pitching while they arent hitting. I'm not worried about the middle of the order. As with every team the key is pitching. What I do worry about is a ton of solo homers when Pods and Erstad are both hitting .260
  5. Since the World Series is starting on a Tuesday this year (october 23) and the regular season still ending the last Sunday in September(September 30), will the rest of the playoff schedule still be the same? If that's the case we could see teams with over a week off between the ALCS and World Series.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:43 AM) I forgot how bad the Pink Fuzzy Bunny was on the postgame. good lord. Give us all a quick recap
  7. QUOTE(greg775 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:31 AM) I could anger everybody by saying our OF hasn't been the same since the loss of ... Rowand. I better duck on that statement. Would everybody agree our first eight games have not been too encouraging? f*** Aaron Rowand, seriously. Our starting pitching and bullpen (aside from Bobby) look good so far. Hopefully our 1-2 and our manager don't hold this team back.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:28 AM) If anything, those guns were high. Gaudin was clocked at 94 mph, and I've never seen him over 92 in the past. I remember Gaudin at 95-96 in the playoffs last year.
  9. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:24 AM) Loiaza destroyed his arm with that cutter. We've had a lot of injuries too. There will soon be calls to fire Cooper, lol. Contreras' velocity is way down. Buehrle's was way down last year. I think Thornton is the only pitcher with a reliable fastbal in the middle to upper 90's, although we keep promoting this idea of 6 pitchers in the bullpen with closer's stuff. Huston Street hardly throws 90 and he's more effective than any of our pitchers. Garcia, but his velocity was already declining when he came here. Garland was down, especially the first inning or so. Aardsma is nowhere near mid 90's. MacDougal used to throw 98-100. Masset's around 92-94 I would guess. Heck, we were told Felix Diaz and Jon Adkins were flamethrowers. Part of the reason for the lost velocity is 1. it's early 2. WGN and comcast's guns are off sometimes
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:22 AM) Lineup should be: Ozuna/Iguchi/Konerko/Thome/Dye/Crede/Anderson/Molina/Uribe You're right, but we all know that is a pipe dream.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:20 AM) Just like AJP's bat speed, it was down almost the entire 2nd half of last season. I really wonder what strength program we have with our pitchers, as almost every pitcher seems to have their velocity go down with us. Yea it was down last year but still 95-97. Well, there are very few closers that have long productive careers. Look at Lidge, Gagne, Wohlers, etc.
  12. By the way, why the hell was Cintron's triple an error?
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:09 AM) I honestly don't know if the ball hit the wall or not, Carey Sayers says it didn't but she doesn't mean much and from the 4 replays I've seen I don't think it did but I'm not ruling out the possibility that it did hit the wall. The play at the plate bothers me more simply because Pods had NO chance do to his pathetic arm. Erstad would have atleast made it close. Playing shallow LF and getting to the ball the same time the runner hits the bag you should have a shot to throw him out. I thought it hit off the wall first. I don't know about Bobby's velocity. Pitchers velocity is usually down at the beginning of the year, and the WGN gun might be a few mph off. I do hate how he throws that pathetic slider when he has a great curve.
  14. QUOTE(shoota @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 12:01 AM) Bradley scored on a two out single to left that Pods airmailed over AJP's head. I contest BA would have thrown Bradley out. Erstad is the one who should have been in left, and it would have been damn close.
  15. QUOTE(Wanne @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 11:57 PM) He threw a curve to Walker. Dude...why....WHY keep throwing offspead s*** to a slappy piece of crap hitter like Walker?!?!? I haven't felt this sick to my stomach since my Durango got stolen this weekend. I know he threw the curve to Walker, but I still don't see why he f***s around with that s***ty slider and cutter.
  16. I'm pretty sure that ball hit off the wall before it hit pods in the head. I'm trying to get a video of it.
  17. May I ask again why BA is on this team? Erstad probably wouldn't have got Bradley, but wouldn't have mailed AJ. And please Bobby, stop f***ing around with that stupdass slider and cutter. Your fastball and curve are good enough. I blame the offense more than anything
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) Whoah! Jamie Kotsay looking mighty fine. EDIT - At least from behind. I saw a picture of her somewhere else, she's smokin.
  19. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 05:42 PM) Is it even confirmed he's getting divorced? Not even close. This all came from a post on a message board.
  20. It will be very hard to compete with NYY and BOS. You have to remember not all of their young guys will pan out as well. If they get some pitching I could see them contending in a few years.
  21. Each day I keep wondering if BA was caught in bed with mrs. Guillen There is no point of having B.A on the roster right now. I thought he would at least be used as a defensive replacement, but I keeps seeing Pods and Dye in the late innings. Whoever said Eduardo Perez would look good on this team right now is right on.
  22. White Sox winner! Very encouraging outing by Jose after last Monday.
  23. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 9, 2007 -> 11:44 PM) anybody remember last year when we were like 1-4 at this point and our pen was hemorraging games for us? Sadly, yes
