QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) All in all, a pretty boring tournament. Can't really call any NCAA tourney boring, however if you compare it to previous years I agree. The past few final fours have been pretty boring. The only really good game the last three years was Ill-UNC.

I thought Cena would finally lose last night, sucks that I was wrong. Edge, Orton, anybody would be better as the champ. Should be an interesting RAW tonight though. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 03:55 PM) I think we'll see him more than people think. You're probably right. I'm still mad that he's not starting right now. I imagine Erstad will get hurt sometime during the season. -

QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 11:53 PM) One Former Sox Player suprisingly makes the Mariners: Jamie Burke One Former Sox Player suprisingly gets sent to the Minors: Jeremy Reed. Congrats Burke... just don't block the plate without keeping an eye on the runner. Chris Stewart made the Rangers too One person who I was suprised to see on an opening day roster is Brandon Morrow with Seattle. I thought they would let him start in the minors.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 02:47 PM) Everyone and their brother seems to be taking Lashley. And usually when that happens in wrestling... well it usually happens. But this is WrestleMania. I think this is going to be the shock of the night. Not only that, but Vince reinforces his image of being able to take on anyone. And plus, the WWE gets more pub from the media this way. I highly doubt this would happen, but my friend who is a big wrestling fan brought up the idea that neither would get their head shaved since it's april fools day. Neither of us think it will happen, but it's something to think about. My picks HBK, Lashley, Taker, Edge, originals, kane, ashley, benoit -
QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Mar 30, 2007 -> 06:21 AM) I dont think if we lost Briggs we could afford to go after a DT in the top 10. Thats a lot of money t tie up at DT especially when there are so many other positions that need to be addressed more urgently. I would be pissed if we drafted a DT. I wouldn't be in favor of drafting a DT. You have to remember they have a HUGE bust rate as well.

Splitting the Big East
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 28, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) So the Big East continues to get closer and closer to splitting into two divisions. This plan has gained some steam after Syracuse was left out of the tournament. Today Jimmy B went on a tirade on why the split should happen, and said it's holding back the conference in terms of basketball. He basically whined about being 10-6 but being left out because there is too much competition in the conference. First, I'd like to tell Jimmy to get a clue. You were left out because of your pathetic excuse of a non-conference schedule. Second, I'd like to take a look at what seems to be the inevitable split. The two divisions would likely be divided between the football schools and the non-football schools(including Notre Dame of course). It would look like this: Football Syracuse Rutgers West Virginia Louisville South Florida Cincinatti UConn Pittsburgh Basketball Villanova Providence St. Johns Marquette Georgetown Notre Dame Seton Hall DePaul I think it's safe to say that it is a pretty even split basketball But I still would rather see it not happen. I would instead like to see modifications to the Big East conference schedule. I say screw playing random teams twice(and others not at all) and move to a everybody plays everybody once schedule. Would it be perfect? No. Playing at home against the bigger teams is obviously a huge advantage. But it stills makes more sense than what they have now. I like the football-basketball idea I hope Jim Boeheim gets hit by a bus -

Of course this injury sucks, but I don't know why everyone is freaking out. Gonzalez actually has a better career average vs. lefties than hall. -
Does anybody know why they wear the alternates instead of the spring training jerseys? I have seen the Cubs wear their white once in awhile, but that's the only other team i've seen to not wear the ST jerseys.

The West Bracket (San Jose)

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 11:01 AM) That's the biggest load of crap I have heard in a long time. Coaches aren't always responsible for winning the game. The players hve to actually play. Considering how many easy shots Kansas missed last night, it is amazing they were as close as they were until the end. Bill Self's coaching ability had NOTHING to do with last night's loss. So go ahead and make your argument, draw your conclusions, show all the fancy correlations you can muster up. None of it will be accurate. The bottom line is he had a young team that did not do the things they normally do. It happens, and doesn't make one a worse coach because of it. But don't you know that every KU loss has to be his fault? I agree he could have called some timeouts though. But it's not his fault his team missed all those layups, and it's not his fault his team had to play a road game. UCLA gets lucky as hell not having to leave their home state for two straight years. If the game is in, say East Rutherford, I think KU wins. But that doesn't matter so it's stupid to argue about it. KU was making a decent run until Collison jacked up that NBA three at the end of the shot clock. -
The Midwest Bracket (St. Louis)
WhiteSoxfan1986 replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(fathom @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 05:58 PM) Look at what I said: if UCLA has Afflalo making his shots, they're the best overall team in the country with their great defense, coaching, and decision making. However, if Florida can get their two perimeter players to make their shots for the next 2 games like they did over the last two games, then they'll win the national championship. You know that sometimes the best team doesn't win the national championship. Florida has better big men as well. Mata is a good defender but there is nothing that leads me to believe he won't be in foul trouble.
