  1. I hope they sign Drew Brees. Brees is one of the 6 to 8 best QBs in the league and will only want 8 million or so, not to much.
  2. I am not a pessismist. I want what is best for the Bears. The Bears have done great for the last 3 seasons without Rex as starting QB for more than 3 games, they have made steady progress and last year had their best season in alot of years without Rex starting more than 2 games. Clearly what is best for the Bears is to hope Rex never has a year starting more than 3 games and thankfully for them that is very likely.
  3. At what point in the new year will Rex cease to be the starting QB on the field in some way, injury, replaced, whatever.....You know it will happen, after all in 3 NFL seasons he has yet to start more than 3 games because he is obviously too weak to ever be a starting QB in the NFL. So when will he be off the field as starting QB, and how, this poll will give you several options:
  4. Exactly my point, Angelo clearly DOES NOT want Rex to ever be starting QB for Chicago and that does make things more complicated than what Lovie wants.
  5. Well back then Angelo probably thought Rex could be a starting QB in the NFL someday. Now that 3 years has passed and it has never happened, that myth is gone probably.
  6. I dont know about Brooks but Pennington is believable. His former father figure at the NY Jets is now gone, and with him gone there may be little interest in keeping him there. Yet he is clearly better than Grossman, so if he is available and fairly cheap it is very believable. Who knows if he would be fairly cheap but he might be a bit more desperate if the Jets dont re-sign him.
  7. http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=4...der=asc&start=0 This is where it makes it clear Angelo NEVER wants Rex to be the starting QB in Chicago.
  8. You may be right on that, since Angelo has stated he wants to bring in a free agent to be starting QB Orton would probably be buried. However it also ensures Orton at 2 years younger than Grossman has done something Rex has not done, and if he is not a starting QB next year will NEVER do, that is play a full year as starting QB in the NFL.
  9. If the GM is unhappy with the coaches decisions though the coach can be fired. I am sure you know that, do you really think the coach can do things that are clearly against the GMs wishes? Can you come up with examples of any players that have been in the NFL for 3 full seasons, are 26, and have never been an NFL starting QB on their team? Jake Delhomme and Kurt Warner are not examples, they were in NFL Europe and were not top draft picks. I mean somebody who was a top round draft pick and was in the NFL that many years, and are Rex's age, and have still not played more than 2 or 3 games in a single NFL season and playing a full season in the NFL as starting QB at that point?
  10. This was from another message board. Clearly I was right all along. Angelo was hinting with his statements he really does not want Rex to become a starting QB for Chicago ever, regardless what Lovie may want. In fact Lovie may not get his contract renewed as a result, wanting Rex to become a starting QB for the first time when nobody else in the organization wants it may cost him his job.
  11. I realized that but what Angelo thinks means more than Lovie. Basicaly this is how I see it. Rex has never been a starting QB in the NFL. To be a starting QB in the NFL a QB must be starting 12 or more games in the 16-game NFL season, not 2 or 3 which is the most Rex has ever started in a single season. Thus he has never been an NFL starting QB. If he has not been an NFL starting QB by age 26 and 3 years in the NFL he probably never will be, very rarely does a player become an NFL starting QB for the first time at age 26 after 3 years in the NFL. Thus I strongly doubt he will ever be an NFL starting QB. If he does start the year as the starting QB, which he has done before he will either: 1)lose it before playing 12 or more games by insufficient performance or losing it to another QB. 2)get injured again. I gaurantee no way will he reach 12 or more games ever in his career, in a single season as QB.
  12. Drew Brees has not been signed by San Diego yet, does anybody think Chicago will try and sign him?
  13. I wonder what you will all be saying in September when Orton, or a free agent, or draft pick is the starting QB.
  14. I think they wanted him to be the #1 QB in 2004 but he got hurt and last year when he got hurt again he had lost his #1 job to Orton, but got lucky Orton played a really bad game and a half so was allowed to finish the year as starter. Did not impress that much in his playoff appearance doing so. He has pretty much had his chances to be starter and it is too late for him. Reading articles I can see what the coaches and GMs are hinting at, they are talking about Orton gaining more experience, and searching around for a free agent QB and draft pick QB to bolster competition. The writing is on the wall for Rex IMO.
