Thanks, knew you would show up! I would hope that RH would have some spending parameters to deal with and just get something done, before pfffff and he's gone.

I'd prefer they sign the player, before they lose him.

It will be interesting this week when the Phillies make their formal offer to Harper. Hope we don't have to wait for that regarding a Machado signing, but we probably will.

I understand that and IF there is another team out there hopefully the Sox would be given another chance to up their offer. BUT, if they are at 8/$250 I wouldn't want someone else to come in at a little above that to have Machado sign elsewhere. If RH is the great negotiator then figure out what it will take and what JR is willing to spend.

SO, if it would get it DONE, why don't the Sox come back and say OK 9 yrs and $280M./ They need to get the name signed on the bottom line! Just do it!

I sure would hate to spend $250M on a guy who doesn't really want to play for the Sox. Hopefully this is not the case. What I mean is that I would hope he wouldn't sign and then have an "attitude" that would affect others.

I can feel your pain. Years ago I grew up in Fox River Grove (northwest suburb) and you could count the White Sox fans on one hand.

If the professor is a White Sox fan maybe he'll be as excited as we are and want to talk about a possible Machado signing.

On Rotoworld it's reported that Nightengale says the formal offer to Harper will be presented this week. Not sure if this was on here somewhere.
