  1. QUOTE (balfanman @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 12:00 PM) I was in a hotel room in L.A. and, okay, I'll admit it.........I.............cried. I was in a hotel in Orlando with my wife, while visiting one of the sons. I also had a few tears in my eyes. I was in 7th grade when we played the Dodgers in 1959. Glad I was able to enjoy a World Series Championship during my lifetime!1
  2. In 2005 I was in Orlando during our 2005 World Series games. Just wondering what the media coverage was like and how it compares to what is on the airwaves and TV now?
  3. QUOTE (oldsox @ Oct 15, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) I don't. Or won't. If you're a fan, you're a fan. I was there during the 1959 World Series against the Dodgers. This ownership group needs to step up this off season and prove they are competent to bring a competitive team to White Sox fans. I'm waiting.
  4. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 13, 2016 -> 11:46 PM) Please give the go ahead on the rebuild Jerry. Let's get this started and do this the right way. We have two SPs that could reshape the franchise for years to come. I really think this rebuild starts and Renteria is good for it due to his experience with CHC and their rebuild. I believe in Hahn and his trades. He's done fairly well in identifying talent in trades. Problem is that KW would be involved with a rebuild.
  5. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) They really could give a f***. Guess what? So do I. I don't care about the White Sox anymore. Go ahead and suck ass for another year. I won't watch. f*** Jerry Reinsdorf. I also have better things to do!
  6. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 10:05 AM) Practically the same staff Ventura had in here was exactly my worry. Same s***, different year. Same old crap
  7. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) Sorry Robin but..... Lots of Kenny Williams leaving rumors out there I hope that is one rumor that will come true!
  8. QUOTE (captain54 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 04:35 PM) You're probably too young to remember this, but in my lifetime.. there was a rather extended period of time where the White Sox were the #1 MLB in the city, not the Cubs...a stretch of almost two decades..the 50's and 60's..as a matter of fact, it was cause for serious ridicule to publicly admit you were a Cub fan... so it's not a given that the White Sox are relegated to 2nd class status.... I was in the seventh grade when the Sox were in the 1959 World Series and lived in the NW suburbs, which was supposedly Cub's country at that time. I've just about had it with this current FO and ownership.
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 24, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) I will NEVER call it that. Will always be the Cell to me Sox Park for me.
  10. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 19, 2016 -> 10:37 PM) James Shields is John Danks; version 2.0 A pitcher with an albatross contract who is headed downhill fast. The difference is Danks couldn't help that he got hurt. The Sox knew Shields was losing it fast...yet Kenny Hahn got him anyway. Don't stop now boys! Mark What an awful pickup. IF the Sox do a total rebuild it better not be this FO group that does it.
  11. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) Pick one: James Shields: A) starts at Fenway Thursday B) goes on the DL with a bogus injury. C) makes a trip to the pen B
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 07:04 PM) He should be one of the first to go. He's been terrible at his job As much as I'd like to see RH, KW and RV fired I don't think JR has the guts to do it. Can this train wreck get any worse?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 18, 2016 -> 05:37 PM) He may have bad results, but Kenny is right there approving everything. And he sucked too past 2007. They both need to go, but it should start with Kenny. IF JR cleans house does he give the reins to Buddy Bell?
  14. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) This team isn't sniffing 80 wins Is it too early to start the rebuild era?
  15. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) And if he's worried about his job, then things will only get worse...nothing to lose by cleaning out whatever's left in the farm. Hahn's just been awful in "go for it" mode. I hope JR is getting really embarrassed by this team!
  16. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 13, 2016 -> 07:34 PM) Shields is doing his part to get Robin fired. And if he keeps this up, he might get Hahn fired too. What if Hahn and Ventura get fired and Kenny takes over.
  17. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:48 PM) How so? I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you. Not taking the bait. If you don't know why you are one of the few.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) I am not worshiping anyone. Just pointing out the inconsistency here. Not inconsistent. If I am not mistaken, Einhorn, when his group purchased the Sox, said the Sox were going to be run more professionally. This franchise now is more of a joke that at the time it was purchased from Bill Veeck.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) It is funny that Bill Veeck is revered like he is, while JR is criticized for how little the team has made the playoffs. How many times did the Sox make the playoffs while Veeck owned the team? You can be happy and worship Reinsdorf, but not even you can or will change my opinion and memories of Bill Veeck!
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) JR on down needs to go the country club atmosphere is toxic. and this is the same ownership group that criticized Bill Veeck. At least Bill Veeck cared about the fans.
  21. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 02:09 PM) I don't think this organization has the right people in scouting/development to do it. They seem to do fine with pitching. John McDonough did it for the Blackhawks. I just don't see that kind of move on the south side until a change at the very top happens, though.
  22. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) How does this myth keep going that Sox fans won't tolerate a rebuild? That seems to be the rationale for whatever-the-f*** this approach has been for years now--oh, no! We can't clean house and rebuild or Sox fans will stop coming forever! Huh? I would go. I would rather see some promising youngsters lose with some effort rather than the corpseball we've been fed for damn near a decade. Didn't the Cubs basically rebuild? Not just on the field but in the front office? How's that working out for them now? I'm tired of hearing that supposed reason as a rationale not to do it. I've been watching the White Sox since I was in 7th grade and the Sox were in the '59 World Series. This is the most disappointed, by far, that I have been with a White Sox team. I'd prefer a house cleaning from owner on down, but I'm realistic and know that will not happen. A sad state of affairs.
  23. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Jun 6, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) All day I've been checking the site every 20 min to see if there's even a hint that RV (or anyone for that matter) will get canned today. You'd think I'd know better by now... I posted on another site that I hoped I would read about a Ventura firing when I went to the site. Post was pending as the Admin. had to approve. Must have been too negative because it never did get posted. Oh well.
  24. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 5, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) June 16 would be a good day for a Ventura canning if they don't have a winning homestand. Day off, and the Sox fly to Cleveland that night. June 5 or 6 would be better.
  25. QUOTE (flavum @ May 30, 2016 -> 03:34 PM) Agreed. Short of making the playoffs, he's done after this season. I hope he's done, but after the season is too long of a wait for me.
