  1. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 5, 2015 -> 12:09 PM) I don't. That park fits perfectly for him. And they play great team defense. I totally agree.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 06:57 PM) As of December 4th, yes. Thanks for the news!
  3. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 04:48 PM) I just hope that the Cubs keeping losing in the next few years when their core is young and cheap. They'll be f***ed when Lester is at the end of his deal, Arrieta is expensive, and all their young guys are older and more expensive. So, John Lackey is their big FA SP acquisition??
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 05:36 PM) Like others have said, this deal makes Sale & Quintana's trade value sky rocket. They are not trading either of them. If their trade value will sky rocket, why not trade Q? See what teams are willing to overpay for him in a deal. I believe this would be the time to sell high.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) price 31 mil per for 7 yrs..... sweet for him. there is no way the sox would be able to do that and i wouldn't want them to. his contract is at an end when he is 38 yo. I thought I read on Rotoworld he has an opt out after 3 years. I think it is his and not the club opt out. Yea, I agree 38 is a bit too old for that contract
  6. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Nov 30, 2015 -> 09:16 PM) I really don't think the Sox will sign Upton. Too costly in salary for what the Sox have to spend. Maybe I've just got my hopes up but a trade for Lawrie just sounds like a move the Sox would make. I mean that in a good way. If Lawrie can add some good defense maybe it makes sense. I too don't see the Sox spending a lot to get a big bat. With our good starting pitching the defense on the field needs to be a big upgrade. Try to win those 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 games.
  7. QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Nov 19, 2015 -> 10:20 PM) Am I the only one who thinks Hahn wants to blow it up and do a Astros/Cubs rebuild but KW and JR are standing in the way of it? I am sooo tired of hearing Williams talk about anything!!! Too bad he couldn't get hired elsewhere!
  8. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) Not only won't he help the O, he will hurt the O. Even our O. He'd be great if you can rake everywhere else. Listening to the MLB network, some Sox fan suggested Q for Castro. I thought "who is this dingbat?". And then both Bowden and Stern said it would be a bad deal for the Cubs. Many, everyone drinks Theo-aid. Q for Castro is a bad deal for the scrubs?? I think Bowden and Stern are being overpaid for what they do.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) I'm making this now for my personal record. Just curious on one free agent or trade target you think we'll get. My one prediction is 3B David Freese 3 years $30 million I just read the article about the top 5 FA 3B available. Pretty sad when Gillaspie is #5 and Beckham #3.
  10. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) Andrelton Simmons trade. You knew he was traded to the Angels??
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 08:45 AM) This team has a plan. If anyone thinks otherwise you're crazy. Whether they execute it or not remains to be seen. I hope the front office can execute their plan better than the team did on the field. We need soooo many upgrades.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) Can you imagine having an infield of Olt or Beckham at 3B, Saladino at SS, Sanchez or Micah at second and Abreu at first? With all due respect to Abreu, that's by far the worst infield in baseball 2016 and one of the worst in Sox history. In my wildest dream I cannot imagine Beckham back with the Sox next year. I hope that I am right.
  13. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 06:59 AM) with the success of the northsiders, i will say one thing. the sox's needs to come out with guns blazing. i would love the sox to fill up multi needs or holes in 1 fell swoop. but that will not happen, what they need to do is to make some exciting noise. something that the fans can see and hear, as they did last yr. if this is done, and done right, they will be able to continue to bring fans back. see those extra tickets and season tickets, and just maybe, they will not loose too may already season ticket holders. i hope they, the sox will not loose too much ground from last yr, success and just maybe stay close to the ticket sales. this is a large order and is going to require the sox FO to have some major stones to make the hard decision that is or will be needed. I wish they would have gotten the offseason started right by firing Ventura but, that didn't happen. Then the Alomar thing. I'm waiting for something positive to happen. Going forward one can only hope.
  14. QUOTE (Real @ Oct 22, 2015 -> 06:07 PM) why would this team be signing more expensive free agents they aren't going anywhere next year. Don't forget that next year will be year two of the three year plan
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 12:04 PM) Team #1 is looking at hiring a former player with no managerial experience. Team #1 can have our manager. He has experience.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 5, 2015 -> 11:46 AM) Ugh terrible. Can't wait til people get what they wish for and we get f***ing Chuck Swirsky. Ugh On no!! That's right we need a home replacement now. If Swirsky get the TV job for home games I won't be able to watch a game or listen on the radio. Oh well, maybe for the better.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) Not trying to start a fight, just defend myself and Ozzie. So the Sox fire Parent with a weekend to go of meaningless games. I guess Hahn quit on the team by removing somebody before all games were played. Uh ... this is meaningless just like Ozzie leaving with a week to go meant NOTHING. Both teams sucked beyond belief and it mattered not. I don't know why Robin would want to stay BTW. This team is going to suck again next year. Why does he want to manage bad hitting and defensive players. Probably because this is the only managerial job he will ever have. Honestly, can you see another organization wanting him to be the manager of their team?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 12:35 PM) And you guys thought their wouldn't be changes. A new scoreboard AND a new bench coach? It is practically Christmas. This really is one sad situation. Anyone have any faith left in this organization?
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 11:48 AM) If your going to keep a lame duck coach you might as well keep his staff. It's just a waist of time doing this crap. What coach is going to want to come here with a lame duck manager. Except an old time loyal White Sox player. They should have just cleaned house.
  20. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 01:52 PM) I love this franchise. Been a fan since I was about 8 but if Robin is back I won't be watching. He sucks and that means this team doesn't care about winning. I'll second that. I guess I didn't think they would fire him but, I still wish they would have. The guy has no right being a major league manager!
  21. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 11:14 AM) Can't say it's unexpected with this organization. Remember loyalty is more important than accountability. Not saying it's all Robin's fault, it's not, but he's made enough boneheaded decisions just this year (remember Eaton bunting with two strikes in Cleveland, the Detroit replay debacle and of course the Zach Duke being announced affair in Milwaukee before the pinch hitter was, to make you wonder just what he is thinking during games. Don't know if I shared this here but last Friday I spoke with someone who knows Robin well and his coaches and was told Parent wasn't giving him good advice this year because "he wants his job." Was also told Parent is a "negative person" on the bench and with the team. So it looks like (as many predicted back in July) at best maybe one or two coaches are changed out. That's it. An organization in serious trouble and that's their idea of fixing the brain-trust, not bringing in new people from outside the organization to look at the number of problems with new ideas. So be it. Basically they have reached the level where they "hope" to be good next year. And hey, it's baseball, it could happen....but I wouldn't bet on it. Mark At this time I just don't feel very positive about the Sox, as an organization.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 2, 2015 -> 07:26 AM) That also means he's getting an extension. Lollllll this franchise Awful record and he doesn't get fired. Yes, what a joke!! If this is Hahn's decision then I'm losing faith in him too! If it is JR's then it means it is time for his group to sell!
  23. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 10:59 AM) That's pretty much a given. You could go back all the way to 1901 and I would still think that 2013 was one of the worst years for the White Sox franchise ever. They were absolutely terrible from start to finish. I guess Rodon is a great reward for having to endure that trainwreck of a year though. So, do we need two or three more train wreck years in a row?
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 1, 2015 -> 10:15 AM) That is usually the next blinking line. Why would anyone who really knew what they are talking about call Boers and Bernstein? You know you will not be able to get your point out before they cut you off. I quit listening to WSCR about two months ago and haven't missed it one bit!
