  1. QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 07:36 AM) This is the kind of post that should be public, in a newspaper, or, at least reframed as a question to RV postgame. There were a couple of great 8th inning AB's, then they turned to mush in the 9th. The coaches do not appear to be coaching and the manager does not appear to be managing. Are we the only ones that see what is happening here? Changes need to be made!! I try not to complain too much but I have been a fan of this franchise for many years. In seventh grade I remember one of my teachers consoling me because the White Sox lost the World Series to the Dodgers. 2005 was a good year but there have been far too many not good years! This is one and I just hope changes are made, as I would love to see another championship team while I am still here.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) Some of you guys expect a lot out of your announcers. I like Swirsk tonight. Just now he seemed to be enjoying telling that story to Swirsk. Seemed like he was OK with him. Robin seems like an outstanding guy. He has to know the team has no chance with him in charge. If he is manager in April and loses the first 3 vs. KC again (which will happen, unless it's Detroit or Cleveland or Minnie we open with this time and lose 3 to them) it'll be the same ol s***ty season starting all over again. I think he'll agree to step down. He knows his teams are disgracefully bad and have no chance again vs. the Central Division teams. Should we not expect a lot out of our announcers?
  3. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 09:26 PM) No he won't. Mark He may not, Mark. But, he should!
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 08:45 PM) then he should check himself because chuck is a pure pro and it's not his fault Hawk is old and the SOx have no backup plan... Sox' own fault. f*** Stone. Check himself for what? He didn't ask Swirsky to be there. Without Stone in the booth why listen?? Doesn't matter that you think Swirsky is a pro because he's boring.
  5. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) Stone does seem awfully sarcastic Maybe Stone feels he's sitting in the booth with someone who isn't qualified to be sitting in the chair next to him.
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 07:44 PM) The way Stone interacts with him is how Hawk interacted with DJ, it's not a good booth relationship. Stone was condescending to him all yesterday. I could imagine the White Sox going cheap though for Hawks replacement May as well go cheap because if things continue, as they are, there won't be many watching the broadcasts.
  7. QUOTE (harkness @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 07:36 PM) Chuck is a nice guy.. But all those people earlier this year praising his skill.. I'm not sure what you are smoking but its some good stuff. Get used to it because when Hawk leaves he's probably the replacement.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) 15 feet short. He just missed it.
  9. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) f*** this team, I hope they lose every game from here on out. At least they can get a better draft pick out of it that's the one thing they haven't screwed up lately. I agree!! Before the home stand started I said the Sox needed to win 5 out of 7. An awful team and now not playing the kids is just stupid!
  10. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) If I had a ticket for tonight's game I'd be absolutely PISSED I didn't get to see Trayce. WTF Is wrong with these guys. This ORG is really going to be in for a shock when attendance goes even lower next year. And WTF do they expect they SLAP the fans in the face time and time again. It has become so bad and such a joke that I don't even care anymore!! RV is an awful manager! It would even be worse if he was being told how to manage this team by KW or RH.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 05:33 PM) Personally I would be more worried about someone who took fan input seriously about how a professional baseball team should be managed and built. Well, we couldn't be worse than what they have done over the last few years.
  12. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 11:49 PM) I agree, I'm more than ready for changes, but rebuilding isn't one of them. I think it's time to officially cut ties with KW and allow Hahn to have a chance to realize his vision while also making him accountable for all personel decisions. I'd also like to let go of Robin and actually hire an experienced manager. Robin seems like a good guy, but he's a terrible in-game manager IMO and an easy spot to upgrade. And without question, Buddy Bell needs to go. I get player development is a difficult job and heavily reliant on the players brought into the organization, but he has so few success stories on the position player side that it's way beyond time to move on. Make these three changes and I feel much more confident about the leadership of the organization going forward. And with one voice and stronger leadership throughout, I feel more confident in our ability to acquire, develop, & coach up position player talent. I'd at least like to give Hahn and his team a year or two to improve this offense before I even think about ripping apart a pitching staff that has a chance to be very special in the near future. OK, I'll go along with that but I doubt very much JR will fire KW, BB and RV. Hopefully KW will get an offer elsewhere and he'll be let go to take it. I just don't know how we are going to get rid of the other two.
  13. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 09:28 PM) Good post. With a better FO, this team could be so much better. We have the pieces. We just need those savvy signings you mentioned. So, who do the Sox get to make those savvy signings?
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 11:39 PM) Is this guy a golden throated homer? I'd rather have Stoney take over as play by play with somebody like Paulie as colorman. Stoney can get used to play by play. Or let Farmer do it with Stoney. and Orsillo with DJ on radio. Please, not Farmer on TV or radio!
  15. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 10:43 PM) I don't think you'll find a single person here that would disagree. Too bad the Sox will never do it. RV and the ORG will ride LaRoche to the end. If only the kid Thompson had half the leash against RHP that La Roche had against LHP through July. Good to see most of the contributions coming from guys that are young and will be here next year. Ramirez is dead to me. I appreciate his time but this season has been a train wreck, even with his improved 2nd half defense his bat and overall production has been brutal. Yes, it is good to see the contributions coming from the young players BUT, more and more every day it appears RV will still be the manager and that is the bad news!!
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) No, neither. They might bring up Brad Penny as a favor. Other guys that have played for the Sox--Drabek, Carroll, Webb will come off the DL, Erik Johnson, Micah Johnson. Maybe Leury Garcia. Maybe Viciedo gets added. Smith or Brantly as a third catcher. Nothing too exciting. No for Brad Penny!! I don't believe this team at this stage needs to be doing any favors to veterans. Time to let the young guys play in September.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 12:15 PM) for me, i am counting on the owners as the wildcard here. this yr, they took their lumps, they took the media picturing them as bumbling along, esp leading up to the trade deadline and most of all i am counting on them being pissed off for the general overall performance of the 2015 season. they may a trip to the fa's market.... now the question is who might it be for. Hopefully they are pissed off about the 2015 performance and also seeing what is happening with the team on the north side. Forget loyalty and I'd like to see them bring in a real professional like a John McDonough type. But, we all know that won't happen.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 10:45 PM) It's true. I wouldn't post a fake stat but it is very sad. His ERA is lower than you'd think for someone who leads baseball in earned runs allowed, isn't it? True. I heard it on the postgame show.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 10:16 PM) Jeff Samardzija leads MLB in hits allowed and earned runs allowed. wow! we have a player leading the league in two categories!
  20. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Another banner game. and when one says no changes until the season ends is absurd!! I wish they were all gone after this year!! After what is going on with the north side team this is a nightmare!!
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) Saladino hits an incredible amount of weak grounders maybe our hitting coach should spend some time with him. By the way, is our hitting coach any good??
  22. QUOTE (LDF @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 04:07 PM) this was a great article and i kinda got to give you credit for being understanding and tolerant. i would have imagine you probable could have given a lot example of , what i would consider his legacy. total and complete miscalculation on almost all of the ventures or opportunity to build on. mismanagement and mishandling of golden opportunities presented. and esp in the last 15 yrs total inept running of the org, except for 1 yr. That is why a pro like a John McDonough is needed to NOW to run this organization!! But, we all know that will never happen.
  23. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 10:20 AM) If the Sox are serious about making September interesting it has to start tonight. With 7 straight at home against the Red Sox and Mariners it's time to make a push. I will take nothing less than 5 out of the next 7!!! It has to be!!!
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 06:08 PM) Well, LaRoche definitely earned another start 1. Adam Eaton (L) CF 2. Tyler Saladino ® 3B 3. Jose Abreu ® DH 4. Melky Cabrera (S) LF 5. Avisail Garcia ® RF 6. Adam LaRoche (L) 1B 7. Alexei Ramirez ® SS 8. Geovany Soto ® C 9. Carlos Sanchez (S) 2B I just don't get it! He has proven he is not a positive for this lineup! Let the kids play! Admit the mistake and move on already! What a joke this team is!
  25. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) One on my sources: "Robin is going nowhere" and "Kenny and Hahn's differences in opinion towards operations is holding back the organization." I honestly can't get excited about a White Sox 2016 season with RV as the manager and no changes to that coaching staff! I just don't get it!!
