  1. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 01:32 PM) Well it was a fun 2-3 week break from reality. Now back to the real race..... Sox have the #12 pick. 0.5 GB of the #9 pick. 2.5 GB of the #5 pick. 8.5 GB of the #1 pick. I have faith in my team. I believe they can get to #5 and maybe even better!
  2. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 03:50 PM) Yeah. Flowers is bad. Yea, but after the game he was on with hawk and stone and they talked about how good he is behind the plate. Another guy who isn't going anywhere but here next year. Just another hole in the lineup!
  3. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 01:21 PM) If you think Kenny isn't still in charge you are mistaken. Nothing changed, Kenny makes the decisions, Rick negotiates deals and takes care of day to day roster moves. Hahn just got a raise when other organizations came calling. Let's hope another team comes calling for Kenny after this season ends. For all practical purposes though the season is really over now.
  4. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) Should have tried bunting and see if Haren could field it. If there is strategy involved that is not White Sox baseball. It's home run or nothing.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) I think Soto walks too much for Robin's liking. You get put in the dog house for that. I wish RV would walk. Walk away from this team after this game!
  6. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Aug 16, 2015 -> 12:54 AM) Why? If they lose Sunday it's Ventura's fault? Getting a new manager at this point in the season would be pretty senseless anyway. Should have happened back in May or June. If it should have happened in May or June then there is more reason it should happen now! This team has mental lapses, doesn't play hard or smart baseball, is ill prepared for games, which makes for a team I will choose not to watch! Ventura must be the responsible figure who is let go. Maybe that would even give some fans some hope.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:57 PM) Tomorrow is the game where anything less than a great effort would be inexcusable. Ace on the mound against their #5 with Cubs going for a sweep. If the Sox lose the Sunday game and get swept there better be a news conference after the game with the firing of the manager!!
  8. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:54 PM) I agree with this a lot. The talent just isn't there. Makes you realize how bad off they were in the 2013 season. It's still going to take two / three years of bringing it in to get out of the hole. That is if Kenny 'allows' it. Mark Too bad the Sox don't have an owner like a Rocky Wirtz. Someone who wants to turn his team into a winner for the fans! This team needs improvement everywhere and must start with the front office!
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) I can't see how he is brought back next year. Something's going to have to happen. I can't see how they don't BENCH HIM now!!! Give the young guys a chance and forget that our GM screwed up and gave him a 2 year $25 mil contract!!!
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) Damn, if Sanchez doesn't look at that ball he could have beat it out Sooo many times we don't do the little things to help win games. My wife even saw he was looking at the ball and not running!! Did any of the coaches or the GM see that and will anyone say anything to him? This team just doesn't seam to know how to play the game!! Sorry but this team is almost unwatchable!!
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:05 PM) LaRoche down to .210 Can we just sit him Rongey says no. He's a veteran and making $12.5 mil. Rongey said this on the radio within the last week, when someone called in.
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:00 PM) Does Robin enjoy watching the Cubs hit home runs? Maybe he has to ask Cooper before he takes him out. Honestly, is he watching the same pitcher as me?
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) f***ing LaRoche. Jesus White Sox management. Please end the Adam LaRoche experiment!!
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 03:44 PM) Luckily we play in the AL that has a DH. Thompson continues to show strides the rest of the year and the off-season you could see him in RF and Avi DHing That's not what Rongey said the other day on the radio. He said he could not see the Sox sitting a veteran and who happens to be paid $12.5 mil. I sure hope he is not speaking for the White Sox!
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 03:34 PM) No hit and run/run and hit there? First inning woes continue. Saladino coming back down to earth, as expected. .235 and falling. I wonder if he could execute a sacrifice bunt? Anything wrong with getting the tying runner to second base? I know that doesn't happen often with this current White Sox team.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:36 AM) I love listening to other teams broadcasts, be it MLB.tv or Sirius radio. Hawk is easily the worst TV guy I have heard in the last 10 years since I started with MLB.tv/Extra Innings. I drove cross country a few years ago and had satellite radio and it was so refreshing to hear other teams radio broadcasts. No monotonous dull pbp guys. They actually talked about the game and described the action. Our 2 pbp guys are brutal compared to most others. But they are loyal and will only leave when it is their decision. Meanwhile the fans suffer!
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 13, 2015 -> 06:35 PM) They have been extra pissy since they lost the White Sox broadcast. No big surprise as their entire schtick is this kind of broadcasting. I can't wait for the Sox to move so I can take them off of my dial. I don't listen to WSCR as much as I did last year or the year before that. Goff/Spiegel show soundsl like a young girls sleep over. Lots of giggling!! Boers and Bernstein. Well what has to be said about Bernstein other than he should be fired for all the comments he makes and gets suspended for. To me it seems like a lot of the second string on air guys are cubbie fans and they enjoy ripping the Sox. I'll be glad when the Sox leave the score and I don't have to turn on the station on at all!!
  18. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Aug 11, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) I have less optimism with our Minor League position players. We were all awaiting the arrival of Semien and Johnson, both touted as good prospects. But both arrived w below average defensive skills. Semien's bat has carried him but his defense is really bad. Johnson's bat never got that chance because his glove was so bad. My fear is Anderson will arrive in 2017 and he will be flawed as well. His defense has been pretty average as a SS. There is really no one at AAA, except maybe Johnson, who will push the ML roster for playing time. Sanchez and Saladino look like they could battle for reserve infielder as both have acceptable gloves but limited bats. Our ability to develop a skilled ML player concerns me. I don't mean an allstar but just a player w a solid glove and bat. It would be great if Trayce Thompson made a spash but I don't think the Sox will be giving him a chance to play every day so he can try and make an impact. May as well let Thompson DH. One would hope he's not worse than LaRoche. If he is we have more problems.
  19. QUOTE (Real @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) i completed the survey one word to describe my thoughts of the sox was "frustrated" i also said they need to refrain from Loyalty Hires, and just hire the most qualified people My one word: Disappointed
  20. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 05:16 PM) I'd encourage fans to take a few minutes, answer the questions and pass along your thoughts. I'm not saying it will make any difference but I do know if fans don't tell management how they feel, NOTHING will certainly change. http://www.baseballfanconversations.com/a/...77520-824375113 Mark I did.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) Cle (30-39)- 11-7, 2-17, 9-10, 8-5 Det (27-41)- 6-12, 7-12, 9-10, 5-7 KC (24-45)- 6-12, 9-10, 6-13, 3-10 Min (35-34)- 14-4, 8-11, 9-10, 4-9 116-159 (.422) That's like a 68-94 team against your own division. Over 275 games. Everything is ok though. Let's be real and let's be honest now. Really, how does Ventura not deserve to be let go? This is big business and this team is losing the fan base. How can the management and the ownership not be aware of this? I'm totally dumbfounded!!!
  22. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) Someone that can have this team ready for '16. Fundamentally sound and not make brutal win costing decisions. Someone that can get the most out of these guys. I like Gardenhire as Robins replacement. I know Minnesota has sucked his past few seasons but he hasn't had the best teams. I just want Robin gone. I really do doubt that he's gone after the year. Exactly!!! RV has to go! If he's not gone then I am!!
