  1. QUOTE (WSoxMatt @ Mar 6, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) Dunn walks on a 3-1 count I want Adam Dunn to sprint when he walks or hits a HR. Show some appreciation for the game.
  2. QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 5, 2012 -> 06:11 PM) I have a friend who does this religiously. He said its easier because he is nearly 7ft tall. But he also pisses in the kitchen sink so I think its more about laziness. He also pisses in empty gaterade bottles because all he drinks is those 64oz drinks. It is funny to watch someone worry about if there are any piss bottles around his bed as he's driving home with a girl. Oh man. I hate laughing to myself while there are people around, but this is pure gold. I was going to take my laptop to class today, but was running late so I left it. So glad I did. I would have been kicked out of class. We watched a movie about unjust labor practices and appalling living conditions for women who work at assembly plants for foreign companies. Definitely not a movie you want playing when you can't hold it in anymore. I know the feeling, except instead of bottles of piss strewn about, I worried about a water bottle spittoon being left somewhere in plain view. It happened once, but I blamed it on one of my roommates. This swine would wear a white undershirt with pit stains, reeked like death, and had some condition that caused him to sneeze as much as 20 times in a row. I said "bless you" after every sneeze- not once was it acknowledged. Eventually I had to stop letting people into the room because this beached whale wouldn't even make the slightest effort to make himself presentable to people- no matter if it was guys or girls. It needed to quoted again. I wish I was good at art so I could paint the picture in my head On the other hand, he could have told the girls that he was involved in a study to determine if waste like that could be turned into a fuel that is economical, dependable, and beneficial to the environment. The overall purpose for this is to end American dependence on foreign oil, and to keep away from ruining one of the last great untouched wilderness areas on our planet. It would be the first step for protecting the habitat for several endangered species such as Polar Bear, baby Seals, Caribou, and Snowy Owl.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 5, 2012 -> 07:18 AM) Except for the fact that his WS teams in Boston seemed to be drunk 24-7. The more I read about Theo, the more he sounds like a giant turd, and I hope he fails miserably. And I as well. It's always fun to buy a ticket two hours before gametime for less than the price of beer at the park. Planning on Phillies and Marlins so far. I don't recall exact amounts, but when I caught the Phillies at Wrigley, the price of admission was comically lower than when what I paid for Phillies/Brewers at Miller Park. Kane County Cougers seats were probably more expensive that some of the Stubhub listings for Wrigley. I'm not someone who despises the Cubs just because I'm a Sox fan, but I'll be rooting against them in order to ensure the fine selection of $3 tickets remains.
  4. Everytime I read an article about Giordano's troubled future I quickly glance around to make sure no one saw that tear roll down my cheek. Whether or not I eat pizza ever again is directly tied to their future. Portillo's was mentioned. I'm pumped every time I go to our place down in Florida. Checkers seems to thrive nicely down there. I'm not big on Fast Food, but I'll eat the biggest, greasiest burger on their menu every day I'm down there. Chik-fil-A would be another one, though they seem to have started spawning all over the place now.
  5. I have an excellent story about this. Freshman year at ISU we went to La Bamba's while we were all trashed, this was maybe mid-September. After we ate, a buddy of mine started asking about a bathroom. Not sure what he was told, or who told him, but he took his piss in the kitchen sink. Later that same night, I was back in my room in Watterson (Smith), and decided that I wanted to take the stairs to the top of Watterson.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 4, 2012 -> 10:49 AM) Um, he doesn't realize that Manny can only play in 112 games? Yeah, but he probably pumped some more woman chemicals into himself during the time off.
  7. Three pages in Hawking's Black Holes and Baby Universes and Other Essays speculate that usage of this word in the same sentence as NASCAR may factor into the creation of Micro Black Holes. The Book of Jude (New Testament) also has a verse pertinent to thie matter.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 3, 2012 -> 08:07 PM) Theo is going to try to enforce a no-partying/no late nights rule on the Cubs. At first, it'll be hard to enforce this policy- but 2 WS titles and a string of 95+ win seasons will speak loudly. He'll drive the alcoholism out of his players faster than any 12 step program could dream of.
  9. QUOTE (Indy_Soxer @ Mar 2, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) I have always wondered the same thing. how does one go about asking for it. Do you say you want/need an "adult" massage? It would of course be a he said/she said kind of scenario, but outright asking could potentially bring forth the lawsuits and allegations about emotional distress, inability to function properly at work, and sexual abuse. It's doubtful, but I wouldn't take a chance on something that could put me on the neighborhood perv list and all that good stuff. If I wanted to shoot for it, I would leave my wallet at home and move all the cash to a money clip. Place the money clip in an easily visible spot so it's right there for her to see. If you want the dramatic effect, keep it with you and right as massage is about to begin ask her to hold on just a sec, retrieve the clip from your person. Politely ask her if she can "please take this and put it over there". Also, try to avoid keeping singles on the outside. Better yet, don't bring them at all. If you're carrying singles for this then the happy ending you may get is her reading Aladdin or Lion King from a childrens book to you- anything that ends with and they lived happily ever after. That will teach you.
  10. I think it would be incredibly interesting to see the effect legalization of happy endings would have on the stripper and hooker industries.
  11. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) Grinderstad was the best worst part of 2007! I own his jersey shirt and play his drinking game every now and then (playing on loop the clip where he loses the ball in the lights @ LAA and puts his arms out. "AND IT DROPS BEHIND HIM!" drinking every time the ball drops behind him). So it's almost like a drinking game where you count to 100 and drink if for some reason you run into some even numbers along the way. Some of the people I know are so awful about remembering rules for drinking games that this one just might work. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:01 PM) Do you smoke weed? Probably just the boredom of an offseason that has been dragging. A delayed reaction from the greenery I burned from senior year of HS through sophomore year of college is possible too. It's been awhile. Actually, it kind of surprised me when I thought about how long ago my last adventure was.
  12. Whoops, almost entirely forgot about Humber's existence.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 02:41 AM) Greg, are you considering adding RIOS to your "protected" list because they get picked on so much? Once I saw a wild Rios tending to it's fawn. This was near a mountain stream in the Smokies. Almost had a tear in my eye when 100 steps away from that heartwarming scene there was a heavily used logging road and pollution. Absolutely needs to be protected.
  14. QUOTE (Reddy @ Feb 29, 2012 -> 08:30 AM) And if you wear white sox gear prepare to get heckled. A lot. Yankee fans are the worst. I still go to all the Sox games tho. Good to know, I was going to buy her one of those pink hats. I'd rather not have her wearing a chili dog though...
  15. Also tentatively planning to visit NYC and catch a Yankee or Met game with a friend I used to work with at who's at grad school out there. Depending on her schedule it might even be the Sox we see.
  16. Positive take on this news is that Alex Rios spent his offseason driving a white ball at least 100 yards in the air. He probably excelled at chip shots and putting.
  17. This past year I discovered the joy of Metra UPW to Ogliview (sp?) followed by the Red Line. All but one of my Cell/Wrigley visits utilized it. First few times made me silently curse the hundred or so times I wasted gas and $20 parking fees. No beer for me this year either.
  18. I actually enjoy the work of Bert Blyleven. I have mlb.tv and was drawn to Twins broadcasts like a moth to a flame thispast year because of the abortion-like qualities of their season. I was introduced to Blyleven, and thought he was fun to listen to.
  19. This is the Yin to the Yang that is showing up to camp in the best shape of one's life.
  20. I can tolerate Hawk for what he is. For better or worse, he's White Sox baseball for me, and he's what I'll hear long after he's gone and some sugar free vanilla ice cream takes his place. Stoney's sense of humor doesn't get the chance to shine with Hawk like it did with Farmer. Those two personalities were made for each other. I hardly caught any of DJ's last year on tv when I discovered the radio crack that was the Stone/Farmer booth. I realize I'm in the minority here with my Farmer fandom, but if gold made an audible sound, that would be it. If I go to heaven after my death, the sound coming from the harps the angels play will be Farmio calls. Anyone else get a kick out of how uninterested Stone looks when they bring people in to push this charity or that cause during games? So unfortunate for the person he's interviewing, so awesome for whoever is watching it. Sometimes that conversation goes similarly to how I'd imagine it would if he accidentally picked up the phone while he's in the bathroom making bm.
  21. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 26, 2012 -> 11:45 PM) The second Sherlock Holmes movie? REALLY? Saw it twice and noticed Ogden 6 is still playing it. The last three movies before this that I saw multiple times in theaters were Dark Knight, Iron Man (first one), and Batman Begins.
  22. I enjoyed Moneyball, but it was a good, not great movie. I wonder how much of that is being familiar with the book and Beane/The A's. My sister saw it, and texted me today that she thought it would walk away with some hardware. Honestly thought Sherlock was way better. *ducks*
  23. This has to be the hottest 62 year old woman ever.
  24. Whoever was singing that looks like she ran into a few of those people's ghosts.
