  1. They were probably talking about how their window opens next year.
  2. I imagine he was signed to recruit Machado be flipped by the deadline. Bummer how that backfired.
  3. Good. When you can still count every one of your team's victories on your fingers nearly two months into the season, you shouldn't be calling extra attention to anything that takes place on the field.
  4. Watching for Giolito to bounce back, and for nice games from Moncada and Anderson. The rest of them can keep on keeping on, if they want.
  5. This has, somehow, already gone far beyond fun-bad territory. Cheering for a #1 draft slot.
  6. Apart from the missing Cody Asche header, which I am confident will be rectified in due time, the board looks great (viewing it via phone).
  7. I hope it's a White Sox hat that ends up adorning Bartolo's bust in Cooperstown.
  8. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 10:43 AM) This is like someone posted this when Uribe was playing, their computer went down, and as soon as it got rebooted all this time later, it finally posted. Juan Uribe will always be with this team in spirit, so the original post is entirely valid as is.
  9. Bartolo Colon is the most interesting player I've ever seen.
  10. Was it two seasons ago that Gonzalez had that nice early season start in Toronto? Hoping for another.
  11. Baserunners to start extra innings is the worst thing I've heard in a long time. Settling it with a game of dice in one of the dugouts would be preferable to that garbage.
  12. It's a 2017 movie, but I re-watched The Last Jedi (a week ago in 2018). I only saw it in theaters once, and my initial reaction was meh- didn't love it, didn't hate it. Big fan of the movie after that second (and third) time seeing it! Not sure what specifically did it- maybe it was too much to process with just one viewing? It makes The Force Awakens seem even more mediocre than it did after that initial happiness of having a new Star Wars trilogy wore off. Still not a fan of the awful space float scene, though.
  13. More Leila Rahimi = Good I like Ozzie, so that's neat as well.
  14. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 22, 2018 -> 09:16 AM) I think most teachers are going flat out reject having to carry a gun. With every ounce of my being, I hope so. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 22, 2018 -> 09:16 AM) Something tells me this will some how lead back to blaming teacher union... I think the unions will back them and then conservatives can blame them next time something happens. This is inevitable. The powers that be have already concluded that arming teachers is the answer. It's a convenient and self-serving "solution". Any debate on the issue going forward, I feel, is purely for show and nothing more.
  15. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Feb 7, 2018 -> 09:09 AM) It’s amazing that no one seems to care about this. I check the news and twitter every day and... nothing. I've been hoping for updates too. Came here and was excited to see this thread bumped, but it's still in limbo.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jan 31, 2018 -> 10:45 PM) I used to hate Farmer but have warmed up to him. Definitely an acquired taste. Very acquired. But, some of us like weird stuff, and Farmio falls under that. I started listening to Sox games on the radio around 2003- didn't know what to make of him at first, either. Now, I couldn't imagine tuning in to a broadcast without him. There were certainly some good years baseball-wise between 2003 and now, but also plenty of futility and suck that I found much easier to stick around for with the help of Farmio's call. Those years, a standard vanilla-sounding factoid-spewer wouldn't have stood a chance.
  17. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jan 30, 2018 -> 02:27 PM) Just saw this today, take it for whatever it's worth to you: "WGN Radio will sign the team but Ed Farmer cannot be involved with the game broadcast and JR is balking but he also has no place to go." What? Why the hell not?
  18. I just hope he picks up where he left off. It's likely he won't be nearly at that level, but prior to 2017, he was someone that had no future here.
  19. My Rooster died. 2006-2018 RIP
  20. Hope they don't do this. What, honestly, would be the point?
  21. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 22, 2017 -> 10:36 AM) Didn't seem like they were ready but were still putting offers together for each big trade candidate. Practice? I hope that's all it is, because I want no part of it for the kind of names sure to be on the Marlins' mind for Yelich and his mom.
