  1. The Stewart start was the one I was concerned about coming into this series. Now that it is over and done (won) with, it would be nice for Peavy to complete the series.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 31, 2011 -> 09:23 AM) Ozzie wont play both his catchers at the same time( which is pretty standard practice) unless when AJ comes back they don't send Lucy down which is highly unlikely. I"'ll be happy to see AJ back if it means Rios won't be batting 4th anymore and sad that it will most likely put Flowers back on the bench when he's been playing pretty damn good. I don't think Lucy is getting sent down- September call-ups are tomorrow, which should allow him to remain. Though I agree there probably won't be much of (or any) Flowers/AJ in the same lineup.
  3. "The AJ Situation" Forced to remove their injured catcher from the team, Kenny calls upon the help of his friend Tyler Flowers. Ozzie's friend, AJ Pierzynski, is due back from the DL soon, and he is very anxious that AJ not encounter the scene of Tyler Flowers contributing nicely to the team. At Kenny's request, Marsellus Wallace arranges for the help of Winston Wolf. But really, it will be interesting to see what happens when AJ comes back. Assuming he goes right back to starting behind the plate, why not DH Flowers, toss Dayan in RF, and ADA in CF? When is Quentin back?
  4. Wow, Charlotte people continue to make management look all sorts of bad.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 30, 2011 -> 12:32 PM) I wonder what goes through Reinsdorf's head when he flips the game on to see that Alex Rios is batting 4th. lolwut
  6. MDGonzales Mark Gonzales Sox's lineup: Pierre - LF Ramirez - SS Konerko - 1B Rios - CF Viciedo - DH De Aza - RF Flowers - C Morel - 3B Beckham - 2B Stewart - P
  7. It's funny how excited I've been the last few days to see the lineups released. I find myself checking twitter every few minutes.
  8. Wow, Buehrle 30+ IP against this Twins this year and one earned run?
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 08:07 PM) They have one homer combined at Target Field since Morneau got his bell rung last year. That is a pretty awful stat, but I lol'd.
  10. Buehrle is so awesome. Edit: I got that feeling watching the Standing-O as well. I was tossing around the idea of heading out to the park tonight for that reason alone.
  11. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 29, 2011 -> 02:12 PM) I know Rios is in everyone's doghouse except Ozzie's, but the guy has been hittin lately. Edited for accuracy.
  12. I would have Beckham batting in the 10 spot and Rios batting leadoff/playing CF in a batting cage somewhere far away from the team.
  13. Sorry to see the Phillies didn't get him, but it is fitting for him to go back to where it all began to finish his career.
  14. QUOTE (SpainSOXfan09 @ Aug 24, 2011 -> 11:31 PM) Didn't think he was and if he isn't then he wouldn't fit the bill that Ricketts is looking for. I get the feeling that Ricketts himself doesn't know what he's looking for, and at this point is being influenced by sports radio and other media.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) Seems like a pretty awesome roommate. When I read that I pictured Kenny Powers.
  16. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 23, 2011 -> 10:21 PM) So the game is tied in the bottom of the 8th and Ozzie thinks it's ok to use a pitcher for one out? C'mon, what if this goes 12 innings? He's probably banking on Dunn extending his hit streak.
  17. Does everyone on either LA team have some sort of Dre/2Pac song as walk up music?
  18. There is also the Konerko situation to consider. I recently read that it will be a while before we see him at 1B.
