  1. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Aug 11, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) House centipedes. If you've lived in an apartment in Chicago you know what I'm talking about. I remember once when I was very young one of those was just sitting on a wall scaring the s*** out of us kids. My dad took a vacuum cleaner and made it disappear, but the sound it made as it got sucked in will be with me forever. I kind of chuckle when girls go in a panic and get on a chair if there is a mouse, but then I realize that I would probably do the same if I saw one of those hellspawn crawl by on the floor right now.
  2. Centipedes and long-legged spiders. Also, kind of weird, but I hate the common housefly. The buzzing noise when they fly makes my skin crawl, and all I can think of is what diseases they're probably carrying. The flyswatter is one of my favorite worldly possessions.
  3. I feel blessed to say that I don't believe I've ever seen a cockroach in person. Also never been stung by a bee or wasp.
  4. Imagine the reactions if this question was posed in March.
  5. I question the purpose of one Fast and Furious, let alone five. I wanted a Sin City sequel.
  6. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Aug 10, 2011 -> 08:47 AM) Eddie Cicotte's knuckleball. Is this based off the rare flip-o-rama, or the classic 1919 silent film accompanied by piano music?
  7. I think it's about time the Sox won more than 4 in a row for the first time all season. Hard to believe there hasn't been a W-5 under the streak column this year.
  8. Seinfeld. Kind of surprised at how few mentions it's gotten in this thread so far.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 8, 2011 -> 08:17 PM) Yeah, I remember him having similar troubles early this season. He would give up a quick 3 spot in the 1st, then just start dealing. Who the f*** are these guys in the Astros lineup? J.B. Shuck? J.D. Martinez? Reminds me of the made up minor league ballplayers in MVP '05.
  10. Has Bob Brenly been brought up? If not, I would like to cast my vote for him.
  11. Nice win, but I'm not getting excited at all by the first start of a new pitcher. That song has been sung before. Good job by Rios, three hits. Go f*** yourself.
  12. Ranger tie it at 7 in the bottom of the 9th with a Michael Young 2 run shot. Perez blown save in Ubaldo's Indians debut.
  13. I'd much rather see him here than having Cora manayer. As for Cooper, would Duncan follow LaRussa wherever he goes (if anywhere)?
  14. What a great time. The band played tight all night, and of course, seeing Paul McCartney was almost like seeing a spectre. Wrigley is a prime venue for such a show, never would have thought... Seeing the El make it's stop every so often during the show added a surreal vibe. I've actually grown quite fond of the place over the course of this summer. In the years past I couldn't imagine Chicago without the place, but now I wouldn't want to imagine Chicago without it. I'm almost shocked that anyone would suggest that (getting rid of Wrigley) with a straight face.
  15. I'm not going to pretend that Ozzie and Co. (family) are conducive to a harmonious clubhouse atmosphere, but what about everyone who left since 2004 that hasn't made a peep. What are they, polite? You would be fooling yourself if you think 4 or 5 ballplayers on every MLB squad didn't get along with their managers. Sometimes they win, and it is a non-story, and sometimes they get traded for sucking- and then, watch the f*** out.
  16. I heard and read it was great. Encouraging, because I'm going tonight.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 29, 2011 -> 07:56 PM) Can't even remember the last time AJ homered. I'll take it. The other day I think. Definitely has since ASB.
  18. Now that the Phillies got their guy and it doesn't look like Atlanta will give much of anything, how about the Sox go on a tear?
  19. Post ASB: Tigers: 6-7 Indians: 5-8 Sox: 7-4 Twins: 8-7 Royals: 7-7
