  1. Anyway to integrate Twitter into this ruckus yet? I'm liking it so far. It doesn't support Windows Mobile 6.5 (what does anymore?), but it should WP7. Hopefully Verizon stops picking their ass and has some decent WP7 offerings come my update time in October.
  2. Yeah, the bottle of wine was my qualifier for that criteria.
  3. No, it isn't. What I meant is that I didn't want to act like a stumbling fool in front of family, despite the plethora of liquor at my disposal.
  4. Just realized this is AL East v. NL Central and Matt Kemp.
  5. Chris Berman is a terrible human being, but especially so when he "calls" the HR Derby.
  6. The important thing is that this comment isn't being issued after they got swept by the Royals in late September while they're 5 out and looking up at the Twins and Tigers. Baby steps. At this point in any other year a comment like that never happened.
  7. I went to a wedding last night and night and I have a portable breathalyzer that I like to check in with after a night out. There were bottles of Tangueray Vodka on every table and an open bar. I blew .03 upon my return home. Today, no wedding and only a bottle of wine in the house. Ed Farmer: "Light it up"! I also might buy a ukulele.
  8. Aren't comments like that usually reserved for 2-3 weeks left in the season and 5 games out?
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) Owens, Andy Gonzalez Too soon, man. Too soon.
  10. I don't think there will be management changes of any sort. Everyone involved with the Sox right down to the bugs in the field (actually, are there bugs in pro-ball fields?) would and have proclaimed that the team is under-performing and is capable of much more than the record shows. There were a few times I was baffled with Ozzie's management of the pen. Ohman coming in to face righties, Santos in extended save/non-save situations. Pierre was in a pretty awful funk and probably could have used some time off during that stretch, he's hitting again and he's had strong post ASB showings before. Rios. He's been a terrible human being all year. Thanks, Lilliflower, for the Chris Shelton-esque performance you gave there for a while, but you are what you are- not an everyday player. A pinch runner. How is Lastings Milledge doing, btw? De Aza? Dunn had an awful stretch and he's shown signs of breaking out. Even if he does, there is a good chance he'll end up with a down season for power numbers and a career high K total just because he does that on a regular basis anyway, and he's already racked up quite a few of them, even if he remembers himself all of a sudden. I don't blame Williams for signing him, and people who call for KW's head based on this signing are lying to themselves. It just hasn't worked out yet for reasons no one foresaw. The most interesting thing Sox-wise during this ASB and until the deadline is whether the Sox make a move or not. I really can't see Viciedo left in AAA for too much longer while the rest of the division sucks, and more importantly, the Sox have stayed in it despite pretty much 0 contribution from Dunn/Rios. That's a f***ing tough situation to be in if you're management. A fresh signing who is struggling, and an albatross contract who is f***ed in the head but has been a solid ballplayer in the past are blocking someone who has potential but is a question mark.

It's no guarantee to assume that he would have produced, just like it was f'ing stupid to count on Sale/Morel coming into this season. At the same time, you never know till you know. Ozzie: C Williams:C
  12. A lot of times I disagree with Rosie and think he's saying things just to say them, a lot of times it seems like that but it's actually true. I think this is the latter.
  13. Unfortunately, Detroit and Kansas City haven't been feathers in the Sox' hat either. Lots of games left against everyone in the Central, not a good start at all.
  14. Well, that's one way to take the bat out of Mauer's hands. Don't mind it. Yet.
  15. And I think it would have been a great AB even if he didn't hit the piss out of it.
  16. Used to be a replay weeknights on the Score until they replaced it with "Les Grobstein takes calls from the stupid". I think CSN airs it now, but I never got the whole idea of a radio show on tv.
  17. Thanks for that game against Oakland (or was it KC?) last year.
  18. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 08:18 PM) Overperforming: Konerko, AJ, Lillibridge until 3 weeks ago As expected: Quentin, Ramirez, Vizquel, Castro Underperforming: Teahen, Morel, Beckham, Dunn, Rios, Pierre (I was tempted to put him in "as expected" but just can't because of defense and dubious SB/CS totals) I don't think the Sox have anyone overperforming, Lillibridge for a short stretch, but he reverted to what he is- bench guy. I'd like to believe that Konerko is what he is. Similarly for AJ (how hard is it to see him as a .290-ish hitter?). For underperform, I thought going into the season that Morel would be worse- He's bad, but I definitely could have seen worse. The reason he hurts more that he should is Dunn and Rios. Hopefully Pierre has his second half run. I expected more out of Alexei. He's had moments, but he's also not new to MLB anymore. It is at the point where maybe you shut down Dunn. There is a sizable investment here, and you're flirting with .500 with almost no contribution from him at all... Blame his appendix, bite the bullet on a plane ticket for Dayan, and give him some time to adjust to the grind of not playing the field and only hitting (notsomuch). I know finances are tight...(heard somewhere that the Sox are one of the more significant Dodger creditors).
  19. Ed Farmer talking about Lazarus. lol "He's a quick healer".
