  1. I'm a Phillies fan second, so baseball-wise I have the summer covered. We have the Cubs in town who are looking to be more competitive in their division, so of course I'll watch that. I'll still watch my shotgun abortion team, but I foresee instances where I turn it the f*** off after they have no runs and one hit after eight innings. Today I opened my guitar case for the first time in a while and messed around with it, and also, after hearing an absurd amount of positive reviews for Portal and Portal 2, I purchased them via Amazon last week, and am enjoying the game. First video game I've played other than an MLB game since Crash Team Racing (and that was for drunk gambling purposes).

  3. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 3, 2011 -> 10:08 PM) You think the Sox are having a bad day? Imagine this: You're a Siamese Twin's fan. Your brother is gay, you're not. He has a date tonight. You only have one ass. Going for the Sox in this corner, 6'1, 215 pounds John "The Blackout" Danks! For the Twinkies,, 6'4, 240 Nick "Oh s***. I'm about to get bounced from this rotation" Blackburn! If the clowns he faces tomorrow hit him then yeah, he should probably voluntarily step down from his role as a starter in the Twins rotation, and perhaps retire. Luckily for him, the Sox lineup is about as threatening as an invalid who walks funny and whistles to communicate. I think he'll be just fine.
  4. a black hole walks into a restaurant. the waitress asks it if it wants an appetizer. the black hole responds: "no, i think i'll just have a light lunch".
  5. Shin-Soo Choo is the latest MLBer in trouble for being drinky. Epic year for DUI's so far. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/05/...-dui-yesterday/
  6. I took Spanish in high school and I considered Rosetta Stone, but I decided that it would be easier to just teach myself. I use my Spanish/English dictionary often, watch Spanish tv when I get the chance to, and even picked up the Paso A Paso textbooks I used in high school on Amazon on the cheap. I'm also a volunteer at Literacy DuPage and my student speaks very little English, so I pick up bits of knowledge here and there through that. I don't know if I would have made as much progress as I have with a structured program like Rosetta Stone.
  7. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ May 2, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) I knew one of my friends was going to say it, and the person who did was the one I would have expected: "has mixed feelings about today's news. What would Jesus have done?" Thats how I feel. My facebook feed is littered with people I know would claim to be Christian cheering his death/telling him to enjoy hell. It's wrong, no matter what he did.
  8. I'm glad he finally got dealt with, but I'm still disturbed a bit at the jubilation I'm seeing at someone's death- no matter who it was.
  9. Heard on espn that only one team has been 8 games back at the end of April and gone on to win the division. It would be pretty awful if the mighty Baltimore Orioles took this series. I guess I'd be ok with a split only because it would be a positive trend. Oak/LAA/TB/Det- L NYY/Bal - split? I'll take it at this point.
  10. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 04:45 PM) Wow, has anybody else heard that Lowe's commercial with Farmer & Alexei? If only this had been a few years ago it would have been a Lowe's commercial with Farmer and Juan Uribe and the world would have been a different, better place.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) Darwin Barney That would be the name of an insignificant ballplayer playing for the Cubs who has an inexplicable stretch of playing way over his head and ends up becoming a Wrigley folk hero. It's like Theriot and Fontenot all over again.
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:35 AM) Richie Sexson? Yes, thats who it was.
  13. Whoever was 1B for Seattle tossed a PK groundout that ended the inning to my lil bro in '05. Nice to have a momento from what turned out to be a solid year. I never understood why people act like frenzied animals whenever a baseball falls anywhere near them. It's kind of amusing and sad at the same time. If I can make a play on it without diving, pushing, elbowing, crawling, then cool- and I'll probably just flip it to some kid nearby anyway.
  14. I lol'd at the footrace between CC and Castro to first yesterday.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 10:07 PM) @reggie_bush It's been fun New Orleans.  football players are so f***ing stupid sometimes.
  16. Ed Farmer sometimes says my handle when someone does profundo to the left field seats. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) I've never seen Pulp Fiction
  17. Wow @ this San Antonio/Memphis game. Pleasure to watch.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) Sox lineup: pierre lf, ramirez ss, quentin rf, Pk 1b, Dunn dh, Rios cf. AJ c, beckham 2b, vizquel 3b, buehrle p I understand that he's a rookie, but with their record as it is, this isn't the time for Morel to "work through it". I'd like to see Vizquel's time at third continue to increase.
  19. I'd like to think Colon is exactly what the offense needs, but I have this fear in the back of my mind that he will Brad Penny them. Wow, that would be awful.
  20. thats what they get for making me switch to random ass channel 101 during the sox game and then making me miss part of the 9th because of ghetto channel 101. i hope they think about that long and hard over the summer.
  21. Thank You, Lillibridge. I'll remember that next time I want to yell when I see your name in the lineup to start a game!
  22. f***ing blackhawks game. It hasn't even started yet and now I get a frozen picture. DAMN IT.
