  1. If Juan Uribe knew how much s*** talking was directed at him it would probabaly hurt his feelings.
  2. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) I'd only want Dunn if somehow we could guarantee that Ozzie would only play him on defense in an emergency... Hope Alasey, Omar, Benditlike, Hawk or Southpaw don't break their legs anytime soon.
  3. Been a while since I've felt that every pitch thrown to this guy might land in the seats over there yonder. Great feeling.
  4. -One of the broadcasts from this past weekend mentioned that the Cubs were in this very position standings-wise at this point during the year they lost to Arizona in the playoffs. -2007 would have been different had the Sox not posted a 4-14 interleague record. -I don't want Prince Fielder.
  5. I hope it'd be Lucy. It has occured in the past, you know, where one of our highly touted prospects hasn't exactly prospered. Similarly, guys have come from seemingly nowhere and produced. And how about since AJ would probably net a half smoked pack of Camel Lights in a trade the Sox focus on ridding themselves of Castro, if even for nothing. Let Flowers or Lucy fill his spot. Hell, the both of them could probably fit into the space he takes up.
  6. i like carlos quentin, i really do. helluva guy. once when it was raining he watered my plants.
  7. one time he farted and the breeze was carrying north, when the wind died, the milwaukee brewers were created
  8. hawk calls his base hits like home runs and his home runs like base hits
  9. on 9 of his hr's he didnt even swing thr bat, he just looked at the ball and the ball didnt wanna f*** with this guy so it just turned around and went into the stansd for a hr
  10. i read in a book that jr/hawk/ozzie nearly got into a fistfight cause they alll wanted their daughters to marry this honest man. this is why dj got thrown from the tv into the radio. motherf***ing carlos quenrtin.
  11. its part of the plan. Q casually throws out an MVP year and then sucks the next two years. Sox will sign him for like 5 bucks and watch the f*** out hank aron and barry bonds. hes a team player/company guy.
  12. Once last year the Sox were playing an early game at the Jake and I didn't have work, so I turned the radio on and went back to bed. I fell asleep again and had the most vivid nightmare which took place at Jacob's Field. It's an ugly looking park though, IMO. Having never been there, it looks boring. Other than the remaining dual use stadiums (Marlins/A's) and the Juice Box, probably my least favorite. Have fun though...
  13. Stays with the Cavs but won't take a max deal (length-wise). 2 or 3 year deal. Bulls should wait for Carmello (next summer, I believe). I'd actually like that a lot. Yao Ming might just wind up being the low-risk high reward big guy this team has been missing since Mugsy, I mean, Curry/Wallace.
  14. /\ Chicago Fire and Wheaton North Chess Club
  15. I've mentioned before that in 2007 if you flip the Sox 4-14 interleague record things look a whole lot different. I don't believe they were as far behind division lead at this point in 2007, so every game no matter which league Sox face is must win now, but it's neat to see that the NL outright clowning the Sox played a significant role in The Ballad of 2007. Also, Andy Gonzalez. *Edit* Just for s***s and giggles, a quick glance at mlb.com shows that staff ERA against the NL in that glorious year was second highest (of AL teams) at 5.05, and BA (.241) was second worst (only to SF's .233) in the entire game.
  16. Based on this year? No one. While the GM should have the ultimate say in the construction of a roster it's been touted as Ozzie's team. That said, my finger wouldn't be on the trigger in regards to Ozzie either. If we were talking about the Yankees then perhaps, but with two 90 win seasons, 2 playoff berths, and a WS winner, I can deal with some frustration. The White Sox haven't exactly been world beaters. Ever. Other than that, we're not even 30 games into the season.
  17. It needs to be recognized that this selection of like 20 shows can be deduced to 3, 4 at most. I'd hate on SC but sometimes I like watching the highlights, and after all, I do hold a remote control capable of muting Stu Scotts shameful dialogue. Rome's show may be lame on tv, but it's hella lot less lame than cold pizza/first take/espnnation/ourvieweresaresof***ingstupidthatwhydontwejustairthesameshowwithdifferenthostsZONE. People enjoy this s***? I flip to cartoons or public television while this visual migraine airs... PTI is fun cause somewhere in that pile you may detect an actual opinion, even if lots of times it's only thrown out there to cause a "reaction". Honestly, Rome as worst show? Wow. 99% of ESPN programming is more unbearable. Out of that murderers row of a lineup they fling at viewers unmercifully? f***, thats messed up.
  18. Watching the game and especially the team introduction really made me think about how different games will be without Nancy Faust.
  19. On the contrary, the GM is the one who builds a team. Ozzie wanting a different lineup should be a suggestion. I'm wary of the current plan of attack, but the bopper mentality hasn't exactly produced much more than an exciting first half of 2006, and a crapshoot playoff berth in 2008. Again, I'm an advocate of adding anyone who could hit the ball far, but if this is what the Sox stick with, and if it's Ozzie's doing, then I won't call for his head if it doesn't pan out.
  20. If Damon doesn't happen and JD is willing to look at things from a reasonable point of view (moneywise, positionwise) I don't see why he can't be brought in at the last minute yet. Let him knock himself out in the field every once in a while and devote the rest of the time to justifying the letter 'H' in "DH". Teahen wearing 23 would end just as soon as the ink dried from Dye signing a 1 yr $Notalot contract with some incentives.
  21. This is the first instance that I've felt strongly about anyone in any sport making the Hall of Fame. 2005 was magic, and perfect in it's own way, but Frank's absence (at least for me) watered it down a little.
  22. In terms of offense the Sox have signed a skinnier twig boy than Alexei, a KC Royal, and someone who spells his name wrong. Sox have lost two sure shot 25 HR hitters. Sox have not moved the fences in 20 ft. ??? This bat could probably be had for cheap and would actually probably exponentially improve this ridiculous offensive roster.
