A little run support for Buehrle would be nice. Seems like he can give up 1/2 run and still lose. -

Yeah, but we still play the Pirates later. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 11, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) with some of uribe's at-bats i would let contreras hit instead, and you know how bad he is For a #9 hitter I'll take his bat and all the K's that usually go with it solely for times like right now when he's hitting the ball and taking walks. The offense just seems completely different when he's on. This is being typed without taking the defensive side of his game into account, which alone should quell Uribe detracters. Say both OCab and Juan are gone next year. There's Richar to cover second, but would Alexei be better than Juan? Hell no. If he stays up here in Chicago then there's no way I would do that unless I was in the midst of a major rebuilding process ala a typical Florida Marlins season. With Dye, Thome, Swish, Quentin, Fields, and AJ all probably coming back, and our staff performing as they are+ K-Dubs unwillingness to concede a season (with what we have now I wouldn't either), that seems unlikely. For that reason he needs to see regular AB's in Charlotte. Given the mindset of this organization, Juan's hot streaks aren't of benefit to Ramirez' future at all. I'm guessing he doesn't visit N.C. until Richar's good to go though. -
Can we finally play well on the west coast?

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ May 9, 2008 -> 08:14 AM) If we face Zito in SF, I will be very upset if we gets his first victory against us. This is bound to happen. If I had money to bet on it, I totally would. Hope they put that last road trip behind them. Success here, especially against the Angels would do marvelous things for them mentally. -
No, they're monsters cause they have blow-up dolls in their locker room.

Steve Phillips must be smoking some good stuff!
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to EvilJester99's topic in The Diamond Club
Quentin for Griffey, nice. In two years I'm taking Steve Phillips to my dealership and trading in my '07 Saab 9-3 for an all new 2010 9-3 + gas for the first year. -
/\/\ Because it was a fair trade. Swisher's a good player in a slump. A day off is warranted, but you won't break out of a funk with an extended stay on the bench.

I think that was Manny. -
A beaut.

Batty plays like that remind me of last years adventure with the Cubs.

Missed the play, did he just hit it over third?
-
HR and hit in the same inning!

It just feels like games that include a rain delay also include a half-assed offensive effort on the other side of the delay. Almost like they don't expect the game to be played and then they're taken by surprise when it is. The other team naturally pounces on this.

It hurts to even think about how we would be at this point if we could string together 2 runs per game. What a wonderful pitching staff. Almost makes it seem redundant to spend all that money on the bullpen if our guys are gonna go 8+ innings. (please, i know) -
I agree, but like Guns n' Roses once said, "Sometimes I feel like I'm beatin' a dead horse". This offense is enough to cancel out any fan growth 2005 may have generated. During the Sox part of an inning, they should just air the things they show during rain delays, namely '05 postseason highlights with a ticker towards the bottom of the screen letting us know who grounded out where. I seem to remember the Tigers once canning their hitting coach shortly into the season and enjoying the results. Pitching has been nice though...

The difference with the Subway commercial is I don't know if they were going for seriousness. It was a lighthearted attempt to make you think about subway. The chill commercial features a tool reading a poem and he's as serious as thome konerko dye going 0-12 in a baseball game. -
That's another White Sox loser
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to WhiteSoxfan1986's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Facing Doc did you really expect anything else? The previous 4 losses have been dissapointing/frustrating, this one was a given. You face a guy like Halladay or Santana and what you should be looking to do is find a way to win against their other guys.
