I was thinking just the other day how cool it would be to have the Knights play before a Sox game. There's so few doubleheaders nowadays, and the ones that do happen always seem to be day/night. This would make up for it a little bit in my mind.

I voted Masset based on the Cubs game he started. Even after his s*** outings in the spring, a damage control reliever is more valuable than a specialist (Wasserman), especially with the question marks we have in out 5 man rotation this year. The effort he put forth today pretty much solidifies (in my mind) that he's the backup plan for Floyd or Danks. I never doubted his making the team, based on options alone, but I think eventually he could become stable- in the reliever sense of that word.

somehow these three hospitalizations of cubs players is going to amount to a new curse.

i wouldn't even wish this on a Cubs player

I heard Jim Rome talking about this on his show. I guess Michael Barrett also had some sort of scrotal injury which just sounded really bad. -
I'll really miss Singleton/Farmer. They had a weird chemistry, and it was pretty funny a lot of the times. Good luck to Singleton.

I remember JD had an E-40 song for a while. Thome had AC/DC Shook me all night long.

If I didn't see it with my own eyes, and had to get my info from this board, I wouldn't believe that the Sox won in '05. Everyone got lucky, had fluke years, and had the ball bounce their way. But I guess the next year when the Cards won with like a 30-132 record it was legit, and when the BoSox were cooked in the '04 ALCS, it was raw talent that pushed them over the edge, and I could go on and on but I respect the webmaster's space, so I won't. Actually, I will. The Rocks were in the World Series last year. Only capable players are required to win. Crede is capable. From the looks of it, so is Fields, and therein lies our riddle. A-Rod is capable too, but Crede has more rings than he does. To dismiss Crede in the fashion that some of the previous posters have is borderline retarded. I'm not "blaming" our '05 run on Joe, I'm just trying to illustrate the fact that there have been much worse ballplayers that have been part of a winning squad, and much better ones that haven't. Now, if you wanna talk about our 3-4-5 and that groups impact on the season, it's a different story. One way or the other we're set at 3rd. Both scenarios have their risk factor. Crede's back, or Fields rookie season being a fluke.

Livan Hernandez-To The Twins

What I should have said is that we seem to have a lot more problems with KC than we ought to be having, winning record or not. -
Livan Hernandez-To The Twins
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to jasonxctf's topic in The Diamond Club
I can see Livan sucking it up against most teams, just not against the Sox. I just get this terrible gut feeling that I hope is unwarranted, but we've been KC's b**** for how long now...? -
i can see juan uribe having something to do with this.

How is everyone so sure Quentin makes the club, let alone becomes our everyday LF? I can see Owens leading off, Cabrera hitting second, and Nicholas hitting in between Dye and Crede/Fields. Also, it's been said that Fields won't man left, but it's also been said that Neal Cotts could one day be a no. 5 for the Cubs. Not saying it's gonna happen, but until opening day, or at least well into spring training, don't rule this out. If no one takes Crede before then, what are you gonna do? Send a ready Fields to the minors, or use Crede and Fields, and take an extended look at Quentin in Charlotte? Unless our hitters take a trip to Great America to power-ride Deja Vu (rip) Fields in left shouldn't be *too much* of a problem... In my world we'd score some prospects for Crede, re-sign Pods for a ruble, and let him duke it out with Quentin for left in the spring. I'm glad we signed Carlos, but until he proves it, if you want to compete, he's not a sure shot, or at least less of a sure shot than Scotty who's produced before. So, Quentin beats him out, ok, consider it an abortion. Pods proves himself, then for at least a little while there is a capable leadoff hitter in the fold at virtually no cost. Then, if our porcelain doll breaks, we have our plan B (Carlos in left) which would originally have been our plan A, and at no big loss. *Edit* I know it's not gonna happen. Kenny would rather sign a retarded ostrich for left over pods.

Thanks to those who run Soxtalk.

I thoroughly enjoy this website. I would be moreso if there were less armchair gm's who are so concerened with, say, Juan Uribe's OBS who then s*** their pants when Juan goes profundo with 4 rbi's to win a game, but I appreciate this place because I can discuss matters such as Crede's future with the White Sox, the glorious addition of Nick Swisher, how the 06 Sox should've been better than they actually were, and how we would have been in position to three-peat if Frank Thomas stayed with us. All kidding aside, it's great to find a place other than the Cell that you can seriously discuss the Sox. -
Farmer and Singleton were starting to mesh in my opinion. It wasn't like Rooney and Farmer but it was starting to become it's own good thing and I'd like for that to continue. Stoney takes anyone's place it's DJ. He should get a job at wnua 95.5.

Franks the man. I'm a White Sox fan but I couldn't have been happier when he took Garland deep when he was with the A's his first time back. Sox could've lost 24-0 and I would still leave the ballpark pleased. I was and always will be dissapointed with the fact that K Dubs let him go in a disgraceful manner. Thome's great, but Frank is White Sox baseball.

Frank Thomas is my favorite baseball player of all time. That said, the Mitchell report was not the who's who of roiders. Look at it. Pettite, Clemens, Tejada, Bonds and a bunch of small-timers or retired ballplayers. Did the names actually surprise anyone on here? More will come, rest assured.

Rowand offered 4 yrs/55 million from Sox

I thought there were already whispers about Roberts and Performance Enhancers in the past. No? -
Why would anything happen to Ozuna?
-
Carl Crawford isn't a possibility anymore for left? Crisp and Rowand are my two picks.

Uribe Trade Speculation
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to RME JICO's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
Could see Juan going, but wouldn't be surprised to see Cabrera aquired for a greater cause. Everyone on this site thinks we're so stupid to have signed Juan for $4.5, what makes you all think anyone else would take him for that price? *green* -
