  1. I wasn't expecting him to hit it out of the ballpark as often as he has so far, but it's such a tiny sample size yet. Like many, I've gotten into the habit of assuming that if it's wearing a Sox jersey and holding a bat, it probably couldn't hurt a fly. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jun 26, 2016 -> 11:33 PM) I'm not sold he can do it long term unless his walk rate starts going up gradually every month. He's gonna start getting junkballed soon. Yeah, that's coming and it worries me.
  2. Can this team learn how to f***ing call off other fielders if someone intends to make a play on the towering fly balls near the infield area?
  3. It's annoying how every time someone is on the losing end of a somewhat close play, yet obviously out, they look insistently to the dugout to review as if they're shocked with the call.
  4. QUOTE (Tex @ May 25, 2016 -> 09:21 AM) Sweat gift. As long as it came with deodorant.
  5. If the Big Lame James of recent vintage shows up again tonight, he should be made to wear it for all 9 innings. Spare the pen and let him mop up after himself. Who knows- maybe something will eventually click.
  6. A solid effort by Shields would be a wonderful thing for this team's confidence right now. That was fun to watch.
  7. I was following along earlier, he was in a jam but walked away without giving anything up when Matt Rat bailed him out with a nice catch on deep fly to center by Wong. It feels like seeing him in a jam is a lot more common recently- he just manages to get out of them.
  8. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 22, 2016 -> 10:31 AM) Rain predicted Thursday. Baseball-sized hail during the bottom half of the first few innings, only in the outfield seating areas between foul poles.
  9. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Jun 21, 2016 -> 08:17 AM) The circle of crap continues. No consequences whatsoever. When the heat is on Robin- Hahn steps in- When its on Hahn- Kenny steps in- when its on Kenny- JR steps in. And the cycle repeats. It kind of reminds me of the life cycle of the pork tapeworm, if not remedied properly, eggs of nastiness will continue to hatch and take over your system. Eggs of Nastiness is my new slogan for the 2016 White Sox.
  10. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) Man - Gonzalez is having a great night. He's hitting 95, working the ball in/out/up/down...changing speeds, throwing breaking stuff for strikes. He's been a pleasure to watch. These are the kinds of no-risk acquisitions that teams not exactly in it at the deadline can sell off to make something out of nothing. It wouldn't be much, but a team with decent scouting could probably walk away with something more than a bag of baseballs and a few extra bucks to blow on next year's annual dumpster diving excursions.
  11. Thought for a second that closeup shot of the moon was of Ortiz' face.
  12. QUOTE (bjm676 @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 09:35 AM) I cannot wait to see Shields pitch against this offense. Yes. It will be appointment TV. This team deserves every second of what's coming tomorrow- hopefully, it's a typical Red Sox 3+ hour national broadcast.
  13. First pitch Contreras sees at the big league level has been hit out of the park.
  14. This group of bums offense 100% deserves Big Lames James a day after another classic Quintana start.
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Pulp is gross I've gone back and forth on that.
  16. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 08:02 PM) Time for something less depressing. O.J. I had a nice glass in the 9th inning.
  17. QUOTE (Deadpool @ Jun 17, 2016 -> 12:20 PM) That lineup with Ross just looks so stupid. Make him a coach or something. Too many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to devising road trip dress-up themes will quickly lead to internal strife.
