The starter is another cancer survivor, Jon Lester, who goes on to throw a complete game shutout apart from giving up a leadoff HR. The only other runs on the night come in the form of a two-run shot by Kris Bryant. Sager sings the seventh inning stretch, Cubs win. You couldn't have written it any better.

Doubtless not the only end of career example of this at the moment.

Winning a series against the other World Series participant would be a nice start to the month.

One of a manger's duties are to take it for the team. This isn't at all entirely on Robin, but if there ever was a time to part ways with him- this is it.

It would also be nice to stop the streak of series losses by winning tonight to guarantee a split. It's at 4 now, and would have been at 6 if not for a sweep of the Twins after the Red Sox series. That's a miserable, miserable stretch of baseball.
