  1. Caught Civil War yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, not great. Definitely better than Age of Ultron. I think at this point, I'm looking forward to a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel and the next Thor more than anything else.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ May 6, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) Well, it's getting to be late on a Friday. Just about that time... Rizzo, Fowler, Arrieta, Ross and Maddon.
  3. Good. That was not pleasant to watch.
  4. Damn it. Would have been nice to shut his stupid face up for this series.
  5. QUOTE (SCCWS @ May 4, 2016 -> 06:37 AM) FWIW---This may have come up but I never saw it on this site. Steve Lyons was filling in doing color on Red Sox broadcast. They were discussing the LaRoche /Kenny Williams debacle. Lyons said Navarro is not considered a clubhouse contributor mainly because he has bounced around a lot. But he said he is given the credit for rallying the team together after the incident. Navarro brings a soccer ball with him to the clubhouse and he got all the players to join an informal soccer game during a workout and that seemed to help form team chemistry. From blowup dolls to soccer balls.
  6. Bittersweet development. I thought he might have had some use out of the bullpen, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. If this is it, then best of wishes.
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ May 3, 2016 -> 08:24 PM) God damn if they aren't doing all the little things right. It's a joy to watch.
  8. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 2, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) ESPN cut out Schilling from the documentary about the 2004 ALCS. How stupid and petty. Schilling is a giant dumbass, but ESPN is populated with giant dumbasses.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ May 2, 2016 -> 06:24 AM) http://i.imgur.com/M65TpqN.gif 10 hours of accompanying sound:
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) A dejected Danks: "There are 24 guys in here who are setting the world on fire. I got in the way of something special tonight." https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/725877656093335556 That's just painful to read. I've been of the opinion that a lot of the negativity towards Danks was a bit excessive, but there hasn't been much this season that one could point to as support for keeping him in the rotation. DFA-ing him, though? Why wouldn't they move him to the pen (probably for use in low leverage situations) before they go that route?
  11. If this team keeps it up, I wouldn't be particularly bothered by having a first-place team with minimal representation.
  12. That was a pleasure to watch. f***ing like a cat, was it?
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 08:06 PM) Shades of Milt Pappas Forgot about that. There's an angle that conveniently with the narrative of this Cub season.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Must have money on the cubs. Cincinnati is no stranger to these kinds of antics.
  15. Wow baby Jesus. Even though they're bum-slaying, 13-0 is still remarkable. Just not remarkable enough, I guess, so Arrieta is just going to spin a no-hitter. He should come out and throw left-handed in the 9th to make it interesting.
  16. Danks is due for a solid start. He's capable of it- hope it's today.
  17. They joined the prestigious 10-win club by 4/23 during the magical 2007 season.
  18. Playing Let it Be on the PA is a nice touch during this review.
  19. Maybe it's just the dreary weather, but coupled with the last few games, there is a very funereal atmosphere going into this one. This would be a very bad time for Latos to finally come back to earth.
  20. Twins are overdue for a a win at this point- sweeping them would be huge.
