Caught Civil War yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, not great. Definitely better than Age of Ultron. I think at this point, I'm looking forward to a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel and the next Thor more than anything else.

FWIW---This may have come up but I never saw it on this site. Steve Lyons was filling in doing color on Red Sox broadcast. They were discussing the LaRoche /Kenny Williams debacle. Lyons said Navarro is not considered a clubhouse contributor mainly because he has bounced around a lot. But he said he is given the credit for rallying the team together after the incident. Navarro brings a soccer ball with him to the clubhouse and he got all the players to join an informal soccer game during a workout and that seemed to help form team chemistry.
From blowup dolls to soccer balls.
Bittersweet development. I thought he might have had some use out of the bullpen, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. If this is it, then best of wishes.

ESPN cut out Schilling from the documentary about the 2004 ALCS. How stupid and petty.
Schilling is a giant dumbass, but ESPN is populated with giant dumbasses.

A dejected Danks: "There are 24 guys in here who are setting the world on fire. I got in the way of something special tonight."

That's just painful to read. I've been of the opinion that a lot of the negativity towards Danks was a bit excessive, but there hasn't been much this season that one could point to as support for keeping him in the rotation. DFA-ing him, though? Why wouldn't they move him to the pen (probably for use in low leverage situations) before they go that route?

Shades of Milt Pappas
Forgot about that. There's an angle that conveniently with the narrative of this Cub season.
Wow baby Jesus. Even though they're bum-slaying, 13-0 is still remarkable.
Just not remarkable enough, I guess, so Arrieta is just going to spin a no-hitter. He should come out and throw left-handed in the 9th to make it interesting.
Maybe it's just the dreary weather, but coupled with the last few games, there is a very funereal atmosphere going into this one. This would be a very bad time for Latos to finally come back to earth.
