Trever Bauer crashed drone into new scoreboard
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to InTheDriversSeat's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) Apparently the drone that crashed before the game on Saturday was operated by Trevor Bauer of the Indians. From the photo at the letsgotribe website, I think I see the damage at the lower left part of the scoreboard where the drone made contact. Are the Sox going to make Bauer pay for the repairs? Damn tarrist. Team should use this to rally. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) Chicago White Sox @whitesox 5m5 minutes ago The game will be made up on May 23 as part of a straight doubleheader, beginning at 4:10 p.m. CT. Glory. The first Sox game I went to was a straight doubleheader against Texas, and they just don't come around too often. This will be something to look into attending. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 11:41 AM) Thank You for this.

2016 Cubs catch-all thread
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to southsider2k5's topic in The Diamond Club
There are goddamn rainbows coming out of my speakers during Cubs pre/postgame shows so far this year on the Score. 4 games into the 162 game season and they're entertaining the idea that last night's loss against the D-Backs could be their worst of the year. -
I love this team! SOX WIN!!!!!

Win tomorrow and send them back to the abyss from whence they came. -

2016 Cubs catch-all thread

They won't miss a beat. -
I went to see it. I was skeptical going in, and my expectations were lowered- but I liked it. Batman is really the only superhero that I had any interest in while I was growing up (via the cartoon on Fox); never really cared about Superman. To me, the Nolan trilogy is far and away the best thing that happened to the character/franchise, so I was relieved that there weren't really any traces of it in BvS. Obviously, Nolan, Bale & friends weren't involved, but that wasn't stopping anyone from attempting something very similar stylistically- and I appreciated that they didn't. I'll probably see it again just because there was a lot going on in the movie. I liked how the opening scene was an event from Man of Steel from a different perspective. The branding scene was a great way to introduce Batman to the audience. It was similar in a way to the dock scene in Batman Begins, but the suspense you felt in BB was more of a fear in BvS. There were no doubts that this was a good guy during the BB dock scene- you almost got the impression that it was some sort of monster during the BvS branding scene. I prefer the former over the latter, but the latter was also well done. Batmobile reminded me of a dune buggy, but I'm glad they didn't just borrow/re-use the Tumbler.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) Not new, but definitely active is My Morning Jacket. I've seen them play shows with Band of Horses & Wilco. I listen to several of the bands you mentioned and to me they are the best music out there right now. I would not start with the most recent album, it's probably not the best introduction to them. A lot of people recommend It Still Moves or Z, but you can't really go wrong on any of their first four. My first was The Tennessee Fire- I remember throwing it on and listening to it front to back in one sitting, and probably twice more that day. It's probably my favorite, even though the songwriting and production markedly improved with each new release up to, or some would say including, Z. Their three most recent aren't bad, but they are much more hit or miss and take some getting used to.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 16, 2016 -> 08:47 AM) The Hateful Eight- pretty much what I expected from Tarantino. A twisting turning plot and a whole bunch of cussing. Good movie, though not his best by any means. This was one I really wanted to see when it was released, but by the time I was able to it wasn't playing anywhere near me. I finally caught it when it made it's way to the cheap theaters. After all that waiting, 3 hours later I found it disappointing. I didn't like Django too much, either. I wanted to like both of them.

Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker: Court orders $115M in damages

I would lol forever if ESPN somehow acquired Deadspin after all of this. -
Hm. Imagine that. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/201...out-apples-help Impeccable timing, what with the hearing being scheduled to take place tomorrow (3/22) and all.

If they decide to look outside the org, I'd rather see a move for Morneau than for Bruce.

My eyes instinctively looked to the bottom right of the monitor at the date the second I was done processing the title of this thread. Not 4/1... QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 15, 2016 -> 12:30 PM) Ton of respect for anybody who would walk away from guaranteed millions. Definitely.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 12:34 AM) I am so flipping glad to see Lawrie wearing number 15. His fire and dirtbag style of play is such a refreshing sight after seeing a pretty boy soft serve variety named Gordon Beckham. Bizarro Bacon

Empirical evidence that the Sox will be good this year

Also, the Sox are 3-1 so far in Cactus League play (0.5 GB in the standings), and are winning 10-5 so far today. -
