  1. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Assuming this holds up, Sox fans should make it a point to NOT gloat. That's what Cubs fans want and expect. Say nothing. It will bother them more. I hope no one goes that route (gloating), although some undoubtedly will. You shouldn't gloat because it would be an ass thing to do, not because it would be a passive aggressive way of rubbing salt in the wound.
  2. It's probably a good thing that more people weren't able to watch what happened in Toronto yesterday. I was kinda annoyed that preseason Bulls basketball has priority over ALCS/NLCS on AM 1000. Actually, did they choose to outright drop the ALCS? I heard John Clayton talking about the NFL earlier, and the other day they were talking to Ditka for some reason.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 12:03 PM) Interesting turn of events. Fellow sox fan at work is saying mets lose tonight. Did not give a reason. Without looking it up, 4 game sweeps in the CS aren't too common. I could see them picking up 1 or 2 wins before this is over. Hopefully that's it, because coming back from an 0-3 deficit to win and advance is a nightmare I don't think the world is ready to experience.
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 10:52 AM) this is such terrible. much much terrible I read this in Pedro Martinez' voice.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 21, 2015 -> 09:58 AM) The Cubs have to trade someone for an arm at some point, Schwarber should be on the block before his value goes down. You cannot play a catcher in the OF in the NL. There's not a chance in hell that he comes close to keeping this up. I think he's definitely the one they should cash in on. Castro helped them out by rebounding nicely after the benching, too.
  6. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) looks like rain It sure does. From Cubs fan's eyes.
  7. The probable other half of this statement is that the Sox have no plans to re-sign him, either. When a horse trots in a field and takes a s***, it doesn't turn around to collect it, it leaves it.
  8. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 20, 2015 -> 09:56 AM) I'm going to be so happy when the Cubs are eliminated. The bandwagon fans are very annoying. Four game winning streaks (or four out of five) have happened before in the history of the universe. Cubs themselves just ripped three in a row off in the DS and four out of five going back to the WC game. I'll feel better about things if the Mets keep their foot on the Cubs throat and pull it off tonight.
  9. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) Best Kosher has some thick ones but seems like 2 bites and they are gone they are so short. Best's Kosher were great, but I think they were discontinued by Sara Lee- unless they were picked up by someone recently or their recipe was revived. I know these were the ones served at The Cell, and they were glorious.
  10. GET EM BART! I think the Cubs are having a charmed year, though, and nothing stops them. I do think they'll have a tougher time with NY than they would with LA.
  11. I think the Mets will be tougher than Dodgers, but who starts for NYM on Saturday with deGrom and Syndergaard going today?
  12. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:24 PM) Seriously? Live coverage on every network channel for a first round win? http://www.tubechop.com/watch/7014166
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:49 AM) Thome not under consideration at all? Guess he doesn't speak Spanish. WordUpThome: ME HABLE ESPNOL PE WordUpThome: PERFECTAMENTE EN INGLES
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:32 AM) I am surprised the Sox would be willing to hire someone like Alomar as bench coach. He paid his dues as an organizational coach before joining a Major League staff for the past few years. I was really hoping we would hire a guy straight from coaching high school baseball to an important position. Bonus points if he's somewhat surprised by the job offer because he'd never really considered managing at the Major League level at the time.
  15. It's a very rewarding time to have been a proponent of Jay Cutler these past few years.

  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 11:16 AM) Rougned Odor having a hell of a series so far. Such an unfortunate surname.
  18. He and Rothschild are familiar with each other from their time on the Cubs, so it makes sense. It also shouldn't surprise anyone when he promptly bounces back next year, and his one magical season on the Sox will end up being an outlier year.
  19. Berman is insufferable on the radio call. Starts freaking out about a high fly ball that didn't go out and when he realizes it's not going, says something about "the crowd thought it was gone but it's caught on the warning track". I'm sticking to GameDay.
