  1. Hopefully when & wherever that opportunity presents itself for him, his kids don't come to manage with him.
  2. QUOTE (DaveBrown85 @ Sep 10, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) But in reality. Do you think the White Sox think this will make more people come? Yeah, that's a stretch. *ducks*
  3. David Ortiz sits at 498. I hope a fastball hits him in the hand to stop that nonsense from going any further.
  4. The Cardinals yesterday looked like they went to sleep in a bed and woke up in the middle of an ocean.
  5. Very nice job by Danks- always happy to see that. There are a litany of reasons why this team is where it is, and he's nowhere near the top.
  6. September call-up time always feels like baseball purgatory when the year has gone the way it has.
  7. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 07:22 AM) Trayce Thompson is better than Kyle Schwarber. TFT. TTIBTKS or Trathisbethankylesch
  8. They would like to extend to you an invitation to the pants party.
  9. One thing to consider, and it may mean nothing, is that in years past, Paciorek often filled in for Stone. This year, Thomas, Rowand, and Podsednik (Podsednik's 3-game stint sentence was one for the ages). Maybe that means retirement via gradually lessened workload, with the team looking at former players to fill in when he isn't there? Just a guess.
  10. Not too long ago, he had no problem shredding the kids that were twitter trolling his daughter. I believe they were all fired from their respective jobs- one may have even been expelled from his school. Hopefully, he remembers that and quietly obliges when they come for his job. Being a bigot is bad enough, no need to be a hypocrite as well.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 08:57 AM) Don Orsillo leaving the Red Sox after this season. 15 years in the booth. I have a trade idea... Curt Schilling leaving ESPN. 1.5 miserable years in the booth.
  12. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 12:17 PM) I just got a ticket for $36 row 22 behind the Sox dugout for Sunday. Anyone else gonna be there? I sat same place last year and moved to the front row the ushers are pretty nice down there and you can hang by the dugout and interact with the players before the game. US Cellular Field Safeco is a nice park. Last year there was a small contingent of Sox fans around. Also true.
  13. QUOTE (gatnom @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 03:53 PM) He gone. Haha, my first thought. It was in Hawk's voice, too.
  14. I like Hub. I caught a moment of the Olin interview- dude has an interesting voice. Is Mannelly still around? Thought this would be a natural role to gravitate toward after the short midday stint.
  15. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 18, 2015 -> 09:01 PM) Wish he'd have gone back to the National League. He'll make it work in Boston, that's what he does. Mark My idea of an extinction level event is an extended period of time that has both the Red Sox and Cubs as legitimate World Series contenders, simultaneously. I hope you're wrong.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:26 PM) Sometimes I forget how much I loathe the cubs Len Kasper makes the most unbearable noise as a play develops in favor of the Cubs. I wish he figured something else out, cause I don't mind him past that.
  17. It is what it is when it comes to Hawk. He'll be gone soon. I think his act has grown old, and I usually go out of my way to listen to the radio call because I think it's glorious, but he is a dying breed, and I'm conscious of the fact that there will be days when he's gone that I'll miss him in the booth- so I've tuned in a bit more than in the past. Regarding 670 & Hawk, there is no doubt in my mind that Bernstein watches Sox games for Hawk material first and foremost. It really only takes one minute of listening to 670 outside of Sox games to recognize that a good percentage of the rest of them (producers as well) are just parrots, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that this is a thing. You can tell that Boers isn't anywhere near as bothered by Hawk as DB is- he just kind of sticks to the script.
