The darned dress. What color do you see?
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in SLaM
I saw white and gold yesterday. Today, I can see how it can be interpreted as brown and blue, too- but not black. -
I hate shaving in the winter.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 27, 2015 -> 07:30 AM) Heh... Viciedo seems like the last player Beane would want with the A's philosophy/style. Billy Beane knows that the Sox are going to develop a pressing need for Viciedo, and that he will in turn be able to have his way with their farm system. Really though, I think he's probably just banking on the chance that he'll be able to flip him to someone, probably looking for power, for something- provided Viciedo doesn't s*** his pants in the batters box.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 26, 2015 -> 02:46 PM) Sounds like Cowboys are trying to buy the tape so that it doesn't get reported nationally. What is annoying about this is that it is something that is so old that evidently everyone was aware of it from the past (I presume if Cowboys were aware of it, NFL was as well). Schefter likely auditioning for a job at tmz. -

That's actually kind of pathetic. This happened 4 years ago and the Cowboys were aware of it? -
Glad Birdman took Best Picture among other things- well deserved. It was my second favorite of the year behind Interstellar, though I could see why one was nominated for just about everything and the other wasn't. Happy to see that Nation's Pride won jack s***- also well deserved.

Ventura "I expect us to make the playoffs"
Swingandalongonetoleft replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think somewhere along the line, maybe between the 19th and 20th off-season acquisition, I began to get comfortable with expecting some sort of postseason appearance as well. -

What exactly was the purpose of this press conference? -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 17, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) A hand-written note? LOL, still so full of himself. The only thing missing from this apology is "From the Desk of Alexander E. Rodriguez..." letterhead. -

QUOTE (Boogua @ Feb 15, 2015 -> 09:29 PM) Barkley had some pretty sick playoffs numbers, but I was just a kid when he was dominating. His career averages in the playoffs were 23 and 13 on a 58.4 TS% though. My favorite player growing up. -
Some of his (facebook?) postings that various news sources have run with are kind of questionable when you put this and that together, but news sources have a way of making that kind of stuff work for their stories. That said- does it even matter whether or not this was a hate crime? It was a triple homicide.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 11, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) Anthony Mason had a heart attack, he is fighting for his life http://m.espn.go.com/nba/story?storyId=12312754 I just caught his last name and a list of teams he played for scroll on the ticker while watching Cavs v. Heat, first thought was that he's dead. Glad to see that he isn't, and best of luck to him. He was a part of the NBA that I grew up with. -
Most likely just a brief slideshow featuring still shots of triumphant moments in Juan Uribe's career on the White Sox.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 4, 2015 -> 07:45 AM) crazy airplane crash footage in Taipei this morning This is actually the second crash for Transasia with the same plane type in the last six months, and fourth for the airline with the same plane type since 1995. With the way it went down, it's amazing that there were survivors. If I were them, I'd go to the closest place that sells lotto tickets and empty my wallet on them. Same goes for the two people in the taxi it hit.

Thank you kindly for this heads up. I've been ready for Baseball to start since like November, so this is excellent.

I unfortunately came across this news right around lunch time. Appetite swiftly vanished by the time I was done reading the title of the article. They were talking about swapping the Iraqi woman from the failed suicide bombing in Jordan for this guy as recently as this week, yet he's been long gone (January 3). As shocking as s*** like this is for everyone, I can't imagine how the family of this guy must feel right now- being led on and hopeful that somehow this would end differently only to learn that it was never an option... How did vermin like this manage to come into existence? It's mind-boggling that they breathe the same air as we do.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) Their catching situation is an absolute joke without Montero. Right now, their opening day catcher is Tuffy Gosewisch. A 9-year minor leaguer with a .239 minor league average. That name alone is probably good for 10 HR over the course of a season. If they could somehow acquire Corky Miller, they're set.

QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 2, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) I'd lose that first thing, but that's me. Seconded. Thoroughly finished with the AC/DC.

My sports radio consumption has withered away to the point where I only really tune in at lunch, but Manelly wasn't too bad from what I've heard. Plain, but by no means awful. Bring back Murph! -

The trees dancing in back of Katy Perry look like giant turds with undigested pieces of lettuce sticking out. -
Saw Birdman. Very predictable story, but great movie nevertheless. Interstellar comfortably remains my favorite movie of 2014- saw it again last weekend ahead of the last few places still showing it pulling it.
