  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 12, 2014 -> 01:11 AM) We are very traditional, so no Lemonjello. She is half italian and half irish and i am 100% east German. Claus Krause
  2. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) So really what happened was a NY Post reporter took a picture of a girl and there was a potential jumper in the background? Why was he taking this picture? The whole "story" just sounds so stupid and pointless. I would assume the reason he (or she) took the picture because they were at the scene to cover this while it was going on, and the blonde stopped to take a selfie right in front of the Post people.
  3. Sorry, meant to include this. It'll be hard to undo some of the poor choices this particular publication has ran with for their cover over the last year or so, but it's a nice start.
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 6, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) I don't know what I'm supposed to think about that photo anyway. Few people would notice a couple of guys on that part of the bridge from that far away anyway, and even if they did, they could easily be workers. She knew damn well what was going on, everyone who was there did. After someone from the Post asked for her name, she booked it. Glad they decided to plaster her face on the front page anyway.
  5. I did not see one of these lying around, and since music is the essence of life, here it is. I'm not aware of anything being unleashed in '14 that would make me want to cross dates off on a calendar.
  6. Society is in pristine shape. Impeccably pristine shape.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 2, 2014 -> 07:49 AM) Remember when Lastings Milledge hit his first big league HR and started high-fiving the crowd? Who got the positive feedback...the arrogant youngster or the rest of the clubhouse for reacting negatively to it anonymously? Wow, there's a name I haven't seen or thought about in a while.
  8. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 29, 2013 -> 11:06 PM) If anyone wants some insurance write off raspberry pies I've got 20 tons of them to choose from. That has the makings of a Kramer storyline in a Seinfeld episode.
  9. QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 28, 2013 -> 10:35 AM) Wolf of Wall Street was fantastic. Only thing was that it probably could have been a half hour shorter. Dragged just a tad for me before the actual climax. Seems more like a 2.5 hour movie than a 3 hour movie. I was on my way to see American Hustle tonight but didn't get to because moviefone.com sabotaged my plans, so Wolf on Wall Street was the only other option available. I concur that it was indeed fantastic. It was a bit on the lengthy side, and there could have been some omissions that would help it out (the scene you mentioned would be great stuff for an extended version DVD) but I thought it was well done. I'd imagine this movie probably crept very close to the line separating an R rating from whatever comes next.
  10. Flee, flee for your lives! Had him mixed up with Brent Lillibridge until about half way through this post. Still applicable, I think. I'll always remember being present to witness him hit a 3 run shot against the Indians during the legendary Brent Ruth era of his career at the end of 2011 (Juan Pierre 2000th hit and Konerko Grand Slam to boot!). There were 12 people at the Cell that night, and that's including both teams, the umpires, and Hawk. And Juan Pierre counts twice.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 10:39 PM) Although McCown's numbers are a bit skewed cause of the INT drops that DBs/LBs should have made on him (as well as him facing bottom team defenses) this offense still looked much better going through him. He fits Trestman's West coast style much more than the gun slinger Cutler (his short passes, intelligence to read defenses and when to roll out and avoid pressure are much better). But.. I still would like to see Cutler in the same system for more than one year as well. If this is indeed the case, and that's the kind of QB who will make it work, there has to be someone the Bears can acquire who fits the mould and is better at football than McCown.
  12. First "ITS ALL CUTLIRS FOLT BENCH HER AN SINE MICCOWEN FOR 10 YEERS" call on 670's postgame show.
  13. QUOTE (scs787 @ Dec 22, 2013 -> 12:41 PM) If they do wanna add a closer I'd have no problem with Balfour, and I think those not wanting him because he's a douche is silly. I can care less as long as he's baking it up with good numbers, which he has. I always got a kick out of those who wanted to run Pierzynski out of town for that reason.
  14. I've never been happier to get indoor canadian soccer on ice and/or gambling talked at me though my radio again.
  15. 1, 2, & 7. I've come to look at it as I do smoking- if you want to do it, I don't believe anyone should stand in your way. The fine print, though, is that because of what has come to light in the last 4 or 5 years, make damn sure you understand the consequences. Refrain from your changing your mind when you're 50 and senile- that's too late. I played football in high school, I'm grateful that it was only during my junior and senior year and that I saw less of the field than the guys who played all 4 years. A friend of mine had at least 3 (it was likely more) concussions just in the 2 years I was on the team. I don't think it would have been allowed today.
  16. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 12:38 AM) He wouldn't be a number two on this team. He's not very good. Heh. Number 2.
  17. Neat development, not that anything will ever come of it.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 07:19 PM) Saw the new Hobbit today. The character they created, Tauriel, well you could tell she wasn't part of the actual book. She seemed forced into the plot and just really stood out in a bad way. She's the love interest for a couple of the characters, and the scenes depicting that seem like they were written and directed by a high school drama instructor. Saw it last night, I guess that's what happens when you try to squeeze 9 hours of content over 3 movies from what essentially amounts to a short story (in comparison to Lord of the Rings). I enjoyed it, though. Looking forward to the conclusion.
  19. QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 12:00 PM) Maybe it's a "work from home" position. Harold watching video of all of Adam Dunn's Ks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torture#Laws_against_torture
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) Love that eerie music they play. Originally heard that in 2001 A Space Odyssey. It's amazing how perfectly tailored 2001's soundtrack is to the film itself. The eerie music you hear is György Ligeti's and (the choir/voices). It was unsettling to hear it the first time I saw the movie, and it still is anytime I watch it again. I read somewhere not too long ago that Kubrick was originally going to go with something entirely different for the soundtrack. It's hard to imagine it being anything other than what it is.
  21. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Dec 11, 2013 -> 09:49 PM) And he taught himself a knuckleball. Blue Jays really like their knuckler-ballers. Wonder if Charlie Haeger needs a job? I wish that would have worked out for the Sox.
