A little late to this party, but I went to go see Life of Pi this weekend. I enjoyed it. Couldn't stop thinking about how it was the lovechild of Big Fish, Forrest Gump, and Castaway throughout the show, but that's not such a bad thing.

I've come to enjoy Wise off the bench or in the lineup when one of the others needs rest or isn't in the right place mentally (baseball-wise). Laugh at the Yankees and tell them to go to a different store if they're shopping for a lefty OF who can also shut opposing lineups down from 60 ft 6 in.

Oh man...

I think that any accomplishments, be they individual or team-related (as is the case with the 2012/13 Hawks season), need an asterisk next to them during shortened years- especially one that has been nearly halved. It's been like 37 hours since the season began and it's nearly halfway over already. The same goes for each of the other major sports.

I can't help but think of it as a modern day freak show when disgraced former MLBers do the Independent League Baseball thing.
