  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 03:36 PM) DRose has pretty much said he wants to be the guy. I know he did say that, but I have a hard time thinking that his brother says anything along those lines without input from Derrick. I have this gut feeling (nothing more) that Rose is one who will say one thing to avoid conflict/not ruffle feathers, but feel differently, and as a result, feel as if he had been somehow wronged.
  2. http://www.rantsports.com/nba/2013/02/21/r...-lack-of-moves/ Is anyone else starting to get annoyed with Derrick Rose?
  3. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Sep 14, 2012 -> 11:34 AM) A pic from our weekend camping trip (last week) -- somewhere in Central IL. Amazing Picture. I could stare at that for hours. I was only a kid at the time (12-ish?), but the most visually stunning night sky that I've ever seen was during the summer months in Crivitz, Wi (the northeastern-most point of Wiscinsin, right under Michigan's UP.). I actually think back to that night from time to time, and at times it almost feels like my mind is exaggerating what I remember, but I know it's not.
  4. Colorado was the team I had in mind when the topic of migrating from league to league was broached.
  5. Well yeah, Jeff Keppinger. Really though, I'd hope they would be expecting an increase. I was surprised to find out that last season's playoff invoice covered this year's split season plan and then some. I thought I had somehow snoozed on it when I didn't see any literature asking for money in the mail.
  6. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Feb 19, 2013 -> 02:22 PM) @MDGonzales Thornton held out of drills, elbow discomfort @MDGonzales MRI on Thornton confirmed imflamation This one's on Hahn for .
  7. I would just love it if some of LAA's personnel moves of the past couple of seasons blew up (literally and figuratively) in their face and took the entire team down. My level of dislike for this team that they've built themselves is on par with Red Sox teams of the last decade plus. I need to see them miss the playoffs, preferably finishing 10+ games out of their division lead and both Wild Card spots.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 08:17 PM) Never mind, Wikipedia reminded me she had rumored affair with Clemens while underage. Lots of trauma in her past. Sad Wow, the name was familiar to me as well. Almost forgot about that. Shame that things got to a point (I'm assuming) for her that she felt this was the way to go.
  9. QUOTE (ptatc @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 07:31 PM) If you are an aircraft enthusist there is not much better than either of those. It's really a thrill watching them. I've seen each one a few times. They could charge for their own airshow and make a ton of money. It would probably impact the number of kids entering the military for pilots but probably not worth the cost. As we saw with Mayor Daley's behavior, government does really value sport aviation. I don't know if I would call myself an aviation enthusiast, but I definitely consider it to be one of my interests. Much more (almost entirely) civil aviation than sport/military, but I understand what you're saying- it does have it's place.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Just feels like an appropriate time to remind everyone that NASA's budget has been trending down, cut last year, cut again this year, facing much larger cuts in the "Sequester". I was just reading the other day that there is "outrage" that the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds are on shaky ground in regards to budget./funding, and how that "outrage" would most likely prevent it from actually happening because they are "beloved". It's gotta come from somewhere...
  11. Always an interesting day when you go to cnn.com and read: QUOTE (CNN.com Spake @ Feb 15, 2013 -> 10:03 AM) Asteroid to make close pass about 2:24 pm ET, flying about 17,200 miles above Earth's surface. Experts say it won't hit.
  12. ^^ He is (or was) managing something somewhere in Indiana, so there is that. The mustache is probably good for 3-4 WAR(M?), maybe more.
  13. I guess anyone can say this now that it's been reported, but it probably wasn't too far-fetched to think that Robin Ventura would be one to turn down an extension 1 year into the job. I don't think it really means a whole lot that he did, though. Eventually (and not for a good while), the meatball-ish side of my fandom would be thrilled to see Pierzynski in his seat. ...or Juan Profundo...
  14. I am very excite. Really looking forward to WBC- it will take away from the purgatory that is Spring Training games. Also eager to see which everyday players Bill Melton will choose this year to absolutely murder the pronunciation of their name. Chris Sale, South Paw, Adam Dunn, a seemingly bottomless well from which he can draw on to craft his work.
  15. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 11, 2013 -> 09:41 AM) I flipped to the Grammy's last night and caught some dude wearing a Yellow suit and '70s era ABA headband singing offkey about Forrest Gump. Frank Ocean, I assume? WTF I watched Mumford & Sons win a Grammy for Album of the Year. Stupidly enough, it didn't win "Best Album That Frat Boys Think is Unique and Inspiring But It Really Isn't At All". It should have. They've basically evicted Dave Matthews from the spot he's held for oh so long. Also, what constitutes country music anymore? Labeling any of those nominees as "country" is a bigger stretch than Hawk yelling at a lazy warning track fly ball off the bat of Jerry Owens to STRETCH! Nauseating.
  16. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Feb 8, 2013 -> 11:47 AM) http://www.stadiumpage.com/t500.html ... ... ... ...
  17. With the PED stuff going on in Southern Florida, it'll be interesting to see who retires in the next season or two. Obviously there are going to be those who would have walked away regardless, be it due to age or injury, but undoubtedly there will be those who have rewritten the records for their respective positions and have nothing left to gain, for example, or made enough money to provide a comfortable life for the next several generations of their family without having their name clowned as of yet, so why risk anymore? Maybe we'll see the WBC used as the impromptu vehicle for a last hurrah before bolting to avoid the potential forthcoming s***show this will create.

  19. SF 31 BAL 17 I hope I'm wrong. I'd like nothing more than to watch the Raven's D clown the 'Niners O.
  20. I thought it would be nice to flip Quintana while he crescendoed last season. Since he's still here, I'd probably rather see Quintana over Santiago.
  21. yessssssss QUOTE (Cali @ Feb 1, 2013 -> 02:01 PM) Manto'll fix em Maybe Coop should instead...
