QUOTE (Lamar Johnson 23 @ Jan 11, 2013 -> 09:17 AM) It's pretty sad that as Sox fans, these are the names we're supposed to get excited about. Dodgers fan: Hey! We signed Greinke! I would be sad if the Sox dropped $147 million for 6 years of Greinke.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jan 9, 2013 -> 10:12 PM) He can go play for Ozzie's team. FOX? Depending on how much he costs, how competitive they plan to be, and what happens with Floyd, this wouldn't be the worst idea. I do kind of miss hearing people call in to Rongey's show and calling him Vaz-Kwez. It could be worth it just for that.

Notre Dame should try rallying around the fact that if they win, it'll be the greatest comeback in the history of the world other than Jesus. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 31, 2012 -> 12:57 PM) I think the biggest question, not even asked there, is how will Chris Sale respond to 192 innings? This question concerns me most because he is the most important White Sox player for now and the next 10+ years hopefully. QFT The rotation- even with Peavy re-signed is still a big question mark. Sale coming off his biggest workload, Danks coming off an injury, Peavy being Peavy, is Quintana for real? So, not sure why some are so eager to run Floyd out of town. s*** can get ugly if one or two of those question marks rear their heads.

I think they should have kept Lovie Smith and let him go into the final year of his deal with the end of his contract hanging over his head. The right thing to do would have been to hold a press conference, call Jerry Angelo and put him on speaker, and fire him again. -

It's been real, Hideki Matsui. -
Awful. Sad for his family and friends. Unfortunate that he couldn't overcome whatever it was that was eating at him. It's a topic that probably conjures up immovable opinions, but I wasn't walking in his shoes, nor was anyone else- No one should be condemning him.

Seahawks are just fun to watch. That there was some quick karma for the bogus personal foul. I think that (ultimately failed) comeback by the Pats may have gotten into Kaepernick's head. -
I'm not sure why everyone seems so eager to run Gavin Floyd out of town. As it stands, the fifth spot in the rotation is already a question mark, and that's not taking into account Danks coming off an injury, Peavy- who I think is great, but I continue to fear may spontaneously combust one day while he's packing a can of Skoal, and Sale the twig.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 21, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) R.A. Dickey's knuckleball in slow motion Awesome. Knuckleballers are so fun to watch. Makes me wish Charlie Haeger panned out. In that clip, the last second veer to the right just as it's going to hit the mitt is great. I have no idea how people refrain from taking Uribe-esque hacks at butterflies like that every single time. -

He'll go down as one of my favorite Sox of all time. Hope to see him back in some capacity after his playing days are over. I think he'd have a lot to offer on a coaching staff, and he's already dabbled a bit in broadcasting. Best of luck either way. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 20, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) Considering the current pitching market, that's not an awful deal for him. I don't think it's bad at all. I don't they'll be bottom-feeders for the second half of his deal though. -

Didn't know Keenyn was injured. Always nice to see the organizations high draft picks go under the knife. I hope it's nothing in the grand scheme of things. -

QUOTE (3E8 @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 11:24 AM) So they'll have the Cy Young winner for three years, $30M. Nice deal. I think it was a great move by NYM to trade him. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 12:54 PM) After 16 reviews, Django Unchained at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. After Dark Knight Rises, this is the one I've been waiting for in 2012. Well, Great Gatsby too, but that was pushed back. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 09:05 PM) Having a multipage facebook discussion with a buddy of mine on the Hobbit. He was disappointed, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Hobbit was another movie I was really looking forward to. Saw it last night, and greatly enjoyed it. I figured it would be good, but it surpassed my expectations. I'm happy there are two more of these coming. It's relatively early, and I'm still kind of digesting/processing what I watched, but I've never seen a 3D movie. Since I'm planning on seeing it again, I might take a gander at the 3D version of this movie.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 01:38 PM) This is going to sound cold as hell, but if you want to live in a free society, you are going to have to accept that there are going to be body counts for that freedom. This is a perfect summation of my thoughts not just on gun control, but just about every controversial political issue. I might not necessarily agree with the pro-choice movement, for example, but in the spirit of why America was founded in the first place, I have to accept that there are those who do. I can remain true to my stance by simply not engaging in the issue in question. You can't satisfy everyone in a Democracy. -

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 04:05 PM) These situations leave a person as emotional wrecks. The worst is that each and every one of those kids is messed up for life, and there's really no two ways about it. Anyone would be, but especially 5-10 year old kids. They're alive, but mentally and emotionally- they're good as done. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 12:27 PM) Once pandora's box is open, there is no going back. Outside of metal detectors in every school, public building, etc, there is no real way to stop this type of crime. You can potentially limit the death count, but you cant stop it. Technically, you can- but the means of doing so are just as frightening. I think every time something like this happens we get a little closer to finding that out. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) I was at that game. It was the high point of that season. And then the Sox finished 3rd in the division and the Cardinals won the World Series.
