  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) (At what point do we start randomly tweeting reporters and asking if Danks's contract is insured?) First there need to be the obligatory inquiries as to the status and whereabouts of former Sox pitchers such as Javier Vazquez or Jon Garland. Then, and only then that next step can be taken.
  2. It needs to be the reduced fat baked version. The Hickory Honey BBQ flavor of that chip is my runner-up.
  3. Every so often he'll co-host a show on The Score during the weekend. I think it's interesting stuff based on how 2012 has panned out for the Sox to this point. It beats the s*** out of the national programming they would air otherwise; every last national show they air talks college football. It's awful enough to hear that s*** during the college football season. Hearing it in the middle of summer automatically has me turning the radio off.
  4. It does cast a cloud. That said, if the HOF begins admitting ballplayers not necessarily proven, but suspected of PEDs, then he has to go in. To me, if your name keeps making an appearance in PED discussions, there is usually a very good reason for that.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 01:53 PM) Eh. Cash is better then nothing. It rules everything around me.
  6. A spunky 17-year-old who had his right arm partially torn from his body during a vicious alligator attack, told FoxNews.com that he wants the alligator’s head. "I'm going to use it for a prosthetic armrest," Kaleb Langdale said in an exclusive interview. “I want his head." The Florida teen lost his right arm below the elbow Monday night during an alligator attack. He said he survived by offering the 11-foot alligator his arm, and used the skills he learned by watching TV shows like "Swamp People" to survive the brutal attack. "I'm glad the alligator attacked me, because if it was any of my friends, they probably would have died," he said. Langdale said the alligator lunged at him as he tried to swim away on the Caloosahatchee River near Moore Haven. He felt the pressure of the alligator clamping down on his arm and knew the alligator had a locked grip when it started to perform a death roll. Bones cracked like twigs and all that remained of his arm was what he described as a dangling tendon. "I still couldn't break free because I was still attached to the tendon," he said. "Then the gator did another death roll and I kicked my way out of it." Gary Beck, a friend, said Langdale popped out of the water, screaming "call the paramedics, my arm is gone." Langdale, who said adrenaline was flowing, managed to get to the other side of the river. His friends called 911 and he stanched the bleeding by squeezing what was left of his arm between his legs. He said when he tried to walk, he fell into a cactus. "It was there that I found spider webs that I also used to stop the bleeding,” he said. “I kept telling myself that people die when they start hyperventilating. So I kept telling myself to breath.” He said rescuers were at the scene within minutes. He was rushed to a Fort Myers hospital, but the arm couldn't be reattached. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino told Fox News the teen's arm was still inside the 11-foot alligator when it was hunted down and killed Monday evening. Officials say it's alligator mating season and attacks are not uncommon. Felinda Langdale, the teen’s mother, told FoxNews.com that she was devastated when she found out about the attack. She said her son is staying positive about the situation and said he gets his perseverance from her. "He could have lost his life," she said. "Half an arm is nothing." Beck said Langdale was in good spirits. They said he was just happy the gator got his right arm instead of his left because that is what he uses to steer his airboat. ( ) Langdale, meanwhile, said he hopes to track down the alligator trapper and make an arrangement to receive its head. "You can't do this to me and get away with it," he said. 7. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) You're right. I think a good pat on the back and a well get em next time is more than enough. Hitting coaches around baseball make decent change doing just that. QUOTE (Carter224 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) Because personally I feel the fans need a way to show the players that they aren't pleased with the effort/performance that their team is giving them.
  8. Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but I hope Chris Berman gets lockjaw.
  9. It's things like this that make you think twice before tearing into athletes. It's hard to check yourself before uncorking choice words in the direction of an athlete who's sucking 100% of the time because that's a natural reaction to have in sports, but I try to simmer down and look at things from a wider perspective. In the grand scheme of things it looks dumb as hell to get worked up over people playing a game. *edit* None of the above applies to Josh Hamilton, I just really don't like the dude.
  10. Wow, those prices are completely absurd. $12,500.00 isn't justifiable even if it came with open bar and an AB during the actual game.
  11. Blue Jays want nothing to do with the legendary bat of AJ Pierzynski.
  12. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 03:01 PM) Rios is unbelievable. I pray that the All Star Break doesn't do anything to him.
  13. Somebody needs to send a basket of fruit or something to the Red Sox.
  14. Are there any other Red Sox folk heroes unhappy with Bobby Valentine that can be had for a bargain?
  15. Whenever the annual magazine article heralding AJ Pierzynski "the worst person ever as concluded upon by other MLBers" comes around, I can't help but wonder if Brett Tomko and Matt Herges is what they mean by other MLBers. Maybe you can throw Josh Paul in there too.
  16. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Jul 4, 2012 -> 08:29 AM) Yes He was our f***ing Kenny Powers That comparison has actually crossed my mind as well. Should he remain in baseball, my shot in the dark gut feeling has Miami presenting a low risk/league minimum offer just because.
  17. I wish the over the top fascination with zombies would just go away forever.
  18. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 5, 2012 -> 02:34 PM) Flip a coin for which one (Danks or Humber) goes in the rotation when they're back, cuz Quintana's here to stay. Coins will definitely play a big part in this decision, but not in a flip/heads-or-tails kind of way.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 3, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) We are so getting shutout tomorrow, btw. There's no way this ends well tomorrow.
  20. It seems like lately Hawk has hired someone to tell him if a fly ball is on it's way out or not. He seems to be conceding 2 or 3 seconds earlier than he used to.
