  1. "We owe you a station id, we're long overdue" -Rios caught stealing- "Lets give you that id while we digest that one" Farmer is the best.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 03:38 PM) Unfortunately absolutely nothing in the banks regarding '85 Bears, as much as I wish I could report otherwise. I do remember Payton and McMahon but not in a trophy-holding context unfortunately. I wasn't born for the '85 Bears, but the overexposure that team enjoyed for 25+ years sometimes made me feel like I was standing on the sidelines for every snap of that season.
  3. Marlins in all three, and I'm not even someone who passionately despises the Cubs. I'm good with them as long as they're not hoisting trophies into the air in late October. Despite a sloppy end to the Ballad of Ozzie Guillen on the Southside, he presided over my favorite sports memories. Buehrle is gone and he's still more of a face of the franchise than a lot of guys on the 25 man roster. Not quite sure why I would root against them. They're not in the same division, not even the same league.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 04:11 AM) New Soundgarden single "Live to Rise" is available free on iTunes. It's ok. Hope Soundgarden doesn't interfere with Matt Cameron's Pearl Jam stuff. Both are on the verge of releasing new material.
  5. I saw that. At first glance I thought he was at Sea World which really confused me, but it makes sense now.
  6. Wow. If there are more than 2 people in that section/row someone is missing a head.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 08:26 PM) Man the Orioles defense has just been awful. That was terrible technique by Andino. Why did he turn his wrist over like that. That's why their marketing department didn't go with Appreciate the Game and ours did.
  8. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) I was just wondering this this morning. I'd actually be surprised if Valentine even lasted the entire season... I know bridges were burned between Francona and ownership, but imagine if this led to Terry Pt. II. I would throw up.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 16, 2012 -> 10:05 AM) Jose Canseco ‏ @JoseCanseco Titanic 100 years wOw. Global warming couldve saved titanic. Sad to say Titanic reminds me of the days I had two yachts in Miami but no icicles I had a bat I named Titanic .It was biggest rawlings ever made and beautiful and unbreakable dont know where Titanic is now fml
  10. It warms the cockles of my heart when there is conflict within the Red Sox organization.
  11. Found a pretty cool site that has WS rings by year (NL/AL champ rings as well). Wanted to see how this stacked up against against those from 2000-present. Hard to do. http://www.worldseriesrings.net/ The WBC ring looks like it came out of Power Rangers.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 02:08 PM) Have you seen the Cardinals' new WS rings? Pure.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 15, 2012 -> 07:13 AM) Haugh's okay. For years, I've tried to understand how David Haugh can remain employed by an esteemed paper like the Tribune. The one conclusion I keep arriving at is that he costs less than the writers that came before him.
  14. If we can balance the just a flesh wound persona we've seen since he's been here with efforts like today sprinkled in here and there, that would be a thing.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 06:59 AM) Buster Olney ‏ @Buster_ESPN ELIAS: Yankees have best record in home openers since 2000, at 11-1. White Sox have 2nd-best record, 10-2. Both open at home today. 2006 Opener ranks above Mark Buehrle's no hitter against Texas and all the playoff games I've attended. I'm fairly certain that nothing will be able to top it.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 06:41 AM) http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2012/04/12/...l-hall-of-fame/ I certainly wasn't expecting this to end any differently, and I can see it from his point of view, but it's pretty unfortunate for fans and former members of the band. As good as some of his new material is, it won't ever see the success that Appetite and the Illusions saw. He's insecure about having to share the spotlight with Slash.
  17. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 01:58 PM) ???We're talking about Wi-Fi at US Cellular. You watch a live game by looking in front of you. Last year you risked hurting your vision if you looked directly at the field during Rios and Dunn at bats.
  18. Aw, Hamburgers. I took a quick glance at my ticket when it came and could have sworn it said 7:10 start, which I thought was weird for a home opener. Didn't double check and scheduled the entire day around the wrong time.
  19. QUOTE (buckweaver @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 03:39 PM) Castro acquired by White Sox Kenny is arrogant...but you have to love his celebration of Castro Day with this acquisition. The extent of Kenny's celebration should have been (a) watching Ozzie leave, and( b) getting to choose your own guy to replace him. I don't think the McCarthyism in Miami was the inspiration for this because it probably wouldn't reflect well on Kenny or the organization if word got out that it was. The circus is gone- time to move on. Wasn't moving on a concept that was touched upon during the back and forth with Frank Thomas in 2006?
