QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) Anyone else still disgusted with the called 3rd on Thome last night? That was a TERRIBLE call. It was over the chest Sox logo
-
That was a very strange bunt

Great Play Paulie!

QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) We need a double play. Close, But a smart play

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:05 PM) Qwerty is right. JD = best baserunner on the team. I agree. He is a very sneaky base stealer.

QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2006 -> 07:59 PM) Lets not be hypocrites and argue about THAT call. I really don't mean to be a hypocrite. I just don't like that call either way it goes.

That is some bulls***. It the ball hits the bat, should be a foul

Jim Thome continues to be "the guy after Pujols" this year
-
That really is terrible. Kinda sounds like an awful, cheesy song from an early 90's Beer commercial.

From Chicagosports.com: First-base coach Harold Baines missed the game because of the graduation of one of his children, Guillen said. Bench coach Tim Raines returned to his old duties at first. …

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ May 23, 2006 -> 08:25 AM) Yeah I saw Rock at first again. What's going on? Also, the paper said Cora managed the game after Ozzie was ejected. I always thought it was Coop. Raines also coached first on Sunday. From Chicagosports.com: First-base coach Harold Baines missed the game because of the graduation of one of his children, Guillen said. The "Angry Hot Dog Guy" is in rare form tonight. I can hear him loud and clear on almost every pitch. -
I really hate it when people call Tadahito Iguchi "taguchi".

Catcher A.J. Pierzynski set an American League record in Tuesday night's loss with his 954th consecutive errorless chance. He passed Yogi Berra's mark of 950 set from July 28, 1957, to Oct. 10, 1959. Pierzynski, who hasn't been charged with an error since April 18, 2005, entered Wednesday night's play 10 games short of tying Rick Cerone's American League record of 159 straight errorless games from July 5, 1987 to May 8, 1989

Is it time to begin our "Pods for All-Star" push again?

Jenks seems to be the kind of pithcer who gets pumped up for big situations. He usually throws his hardest and puts the most effort into his pitches when the game is on the line. Stop bringing him into non save situations. I hate it how a team tells a guy he is going to be the closer then they bring him into tie games and even games when we're losing. Keith Foulke had the same problem. He only had three blown saves but they kept bringing him into non save situations and he sucked. I still believe Bobby Jenks is a great "Closer." Just not a great reliever.

I see you guys don't agree with the Cy Young Predictor ( I don't either at this point in the season). However, the formula they use isn't all that bad at the end of the year. In fact, if you go back to 2005 and 2004, you will see that the Cy Predictor was actually pretty close to the actual results in Cy Young Voting. Cy Predictor 2004 Cy Predictor 2005

QUOTE(maggliopipe @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Really? I don't remember that but we are talking about Dan Pasqua so anything's possible. To hit one of those billboards it would have to be at least 550 feet. Borch's is the longest (504?) and I thought it landed on the concourse. Pasqua's shot was down the line and they had it listed as 470-something.
-
QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Apr 17, 2006 -> 10:01 AM) I contend that Thome will not only be the second to hit one onto the concourse, but the first to hit one of the billboards/scoreboard. Or maybe park one into the fan deck. We shall see... Dan Pasqua actually already hit one of the billboards. He hit the old Winston billboard that used to be in Right Field.
