We are likely losing:
Peavy (unless no NL or California teams want him)
Youk (unless no one wants him in a thin 3B market)
AJP (unless he takes a hometown discount or no other team wants his attitude in the clubhouse)
Floyd (doubt sox will pickup the option with injury concerns, lack of consistency)
Myers (gone)
Liriano (I expect sox to sign him cheap as insurance / innings eater)
Hudson (doesn't matter)
I fear how old and broken down this team will be at the end of '13 if we bring back Peavy, Youk and AJP; the young talented teams are the ones killing it down the stretch.
Unless Sale repeats his '12 performance and Danks comes back and wins 15+ games I don't see this team being close to competing so the team might as well continue in rebuilding mode.
No doubt this is a big disappointment, we lost many winnable games over the last two weeks with sloppy play and no clutch hitting...it may be a while before we get this close to the playoffs again if we have the type of off-season I am expecting.
Not only was it in their control but to go 1-8 is ridiculous...we aren't even go to make it a race...perhaps we were overachievers the first half and this is the team we really have. I know we are too old, slow and can't execute a bunt or make contact in clutch situations...at least we have some decent young arms and got production out of most of our high salary players but I think KW will continue with a larger retooling.
The epic fail clearly started with the Sale loss in KC, Alexei being picked off 3rd was perhaps the low point (other than the numerous situations with the bases loaded, nobody out and if we scored 1 run it felt like a mental victory).

Twins 2-1. He should be your favorite.
Liking him more now...liking Carroll a lot more! Close this out TWINS!

Just pitch everyone in order, get all the wins you can.
Ditto, wins are wins, we need them, sweep minnesota and get the swagger going.
I am glad I wasn't one of the 5,000 fans in attendance to watch this in person. I am guessing the Twins are a Prime opponent in the "anti-dynamic" pricing model.
