Looks like I will be driving to Miami in 2012 to see MB pitch. I think the Marlins will be a train wreck within two years, that ballpark is not going to sell out. When you build a park in a neighborhood called "Little Haiti" with no public transportation to speak of, it makes US Cellular's neighborhood look like Kenilworth. Miami has trouble drawing fans to Dolphins games and even Heat tickets are relatively available. The news down here is that every contract they sign they refuse to put in a no trade clause so if they don't draw fans they will be trying to trade all these contracts when they go belly up. Not to mention the trainwreck that is Hanley Ramirez, that guy has the mental fortitude of a three year old...and I am sure LoMo will be pissed that he will be losing attention.

This media story is being driven by Ricketts, he is going to try to show that the Sox have such a sweatheart deal that when he asks for $300mm to renovate Wrigley it won't seem so bad. Hopefully the people of Illinois aren't willing to play the sucker again. Moreso, unlike the Sox who I believe we likely to relocate, Ricketts doesn't have that as a real option unless he wants to destroy the value of his franchise, I am sure Ricketts will announce trying to get public funds again around the holidays when no one is paying attention.

Ozzie orchestrated this from the beginning and got what he wanted, enough said. JR has got to have a lot of unhappy investors and losing a lot of money this year, Ozzie knew barking for more money would get him a release so he can go to FL where he wants to be.

Just based on the principal when your coach is .500 with a huge payroll in a crappy division and whining about an extension you have to make a change as CEO. I can't believe JR likes the fact that his "face of the franchise" is whining about his generous contract when the team is sucking and management has got to be losing a ton of $$$s. ESPN won't be picking up any of our games on Sunday night baseball next year after this debacle.

The sox will likely have 4 less season tickets to count on next year unless some serious changes are made before payments are due for 2012. I would like to see ozzie traded to the marlins maybe package with quentin for LoMo and some SP prospects. Too bad we will need to trade the players I actually enjoy watching to subsidize the Dung Trifects (Dunn/Rios/Peavy). Reinsdorf needs to realize KW/Ozzie will not be good for the rebuilding that needs to go on. I don't think the sox will ever be in "Full" rebuilding mode as they will lose too much money with 10,000 fans a night. This division is still easily winnable and they have juiced ticket prices so much since 2005 that no one is going to pay for crappy product. The Friday fireworks night game vs. the red sox when they drew 24,000 was a very bad sign for future events. Bring back $5 upper deck (ok make them $8 for inflation) tickets M-Th to fill up the upper deck.

As bad as it has been for us this year it has been way worse for the Twins. And their contract to Morneau and Mauer have the potential to screw them for a very very long time.

Nice to see the young guys play well...we will need that if we are going to remain competitive as the team will surely be slashing payroll this offseason.

thats what a productive offense looks like, nice to see it, too bad it is August. Fun to watch these guys particularly after we have had to see terrible overpriced veterans crap their pants all year.
