this toronto series makes me very nervous...why do we get the teams in Sept that are hot (Indians, Jays)... We should be able to get one in MN, but I think we need a little extra room for the last 3 when we play CLE and they play KC.
-
Griffey almost overran some fly balls coming in on Saturday...I was surprised they put Owens in LF when he pinch ran.
-
Owens will be on the roster as a pinchrunner at a minimum. Good to see Mac getting it done...

This really really blows...I guess my expectations are lowered now...that being said at a minimum lets pick it up and win the division...we have a two game lead with ~20 to go....

Angels vs White Sox - 7:11PM Start

moseley needs to get tagged...mark get it done! -
This news is ruining my friday....hopefully all is going to be ok...winning helps heal things faster.

if the twins keep sucking, and hopefully they do, 13-10 will be fine...that being said I want us to get hot and confident these last couple weeks. Winning in the Metrodome the last week would be huge for obvious reasons but also get us hyped up and help our confidence. Hopefully the red sox/rays keep it close until the end so they don't get to set up rotations.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:17 AM) Could you imagine where we'd be right now without that 4.5 game lead at the end of August? Probably 4.5 games out of first...

Sucks to see Crede going down again...will be interesting to see where he lands next year and what kind of contract he gets with his injury history. Many solid Crede moments the last few years.

Congrats on the AL Central- From a Twins Fan

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 15, 2008 -> 08:14 AM) If KW cant get Figgins, im guessing he will try his best to get Roberts for 2b. If both fails im guessing he will attemp to sign free agent 2nd basemen Orlando Hudson, but thats a risk as he is coming off a pretty bad injury... If the Angels sign Crede like many people think, i can see the Angels offering Figgins for a decent price. Im almost certain one of these 3 will be here next year: Figgins, Roberts, or Hudson. Ditto, good thinking I think that will be the plan as well...that being said I doubt we get any of these guys with the exception of Hudson (injury risk)

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 13, 2008 -> 01:25 PM) Is this 2003 all over again? Sox score primarily on power, they are talking about a possible 4 man rotation just like they did in '03 when Danny Wright went down. And the Sox and Twins are neck and neck. Look at the standings as of August 13 in 2003 and see how similar it is now minus the KC being in first obviously. If I recall correctly Loiaza lost some 1-0 games down the strecth against Radke that year, very demoralizing losses to the Twins that year. We are going to have to win some games in the Metrodome to get this done.
-
This thread stresses me out...lets keep winning and get some distance on the twins...
-
lets just hope the yankees sweep the twins.
-
I think we have seen the last of Jose, Crede, and Logan....lets hope the replacements can get it done.

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 06:24 AM) I just gotta add, that down 2 runs and only 1 out you do NOT send Thome to make the second out at the plate that inning. That is bad base coaching. Something was close to getting thrown at the TV after that bonehead decision...I mean come on that just took us out of the game right there in my opinoin and swayed any momentum.
-
Out of Griffey/Konerko/Thome, Thome is the only one worth keeping...but Konerko will be very hard to move. I think 90% chance they let Griffey walk, Thome's option vest and we Konerko gets quietly shopped with no trade happening.

Awesome game...too bad my fiance made me turn it off after the 10th, I had tickets for this game also but gave them to a friend because got in on a late flight the night before. I would have been more pissed if we went to the game and left (had to get up at 5:30am) so I guess there is some positive. Lets keep it going, and hope the twins keep sucking it up in Seattle. Lets make it through the Boston series in 1st Place. We need to build up a lead so the final series in MN isn't an issue.

I predict a walk and a single, 1-3, no errors but may not get to a ball... -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 28, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) hope gomez is still out. can denard span please return to earth? From article yesterday, sounds like Gomez injury still an issue (can't run)...article talks about sox throwing 3 lefties and how MN backups do vs. lefties. Gomez's absence has caused Gardenhire to do some juggling when it comes to making out his lineup. Denard Span batted leadoff against Sowers and played center field. Although Span was 12-for-26 (.462) against lefties coming into the game, that's still a small sampling of at-bats. Jason Kubel started in right field Sunday, but he began the day hitting .167 (9-for-54) against left-handers. Brian Buscher, who hit a three-run homer and drove in five runs against right-hander Fausto Carmona Saturday night, is batting .150 (3-for-20) against lefties, but will see some playing time. "He s going to get a whack at them," Gardenhire said. While catcher Joe Mauer didn't start Sunday, Justin Morneau was at his familiar first-base spot and Craig Monroe was the DH. "I would like to put Morneau at DH, but I have to put Kubel in right," Gardenhire said. "Monroe hasn't been out there in awhile, and this is a big right field here."

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Jul 25, 2008 -> 10:15 AM) Allison Stokke. An olympian and the hottest woman in the world. Erin Andrews can't even sniff her panties, although I'd love to see her try Google that s***. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I would like to trade for her...and I generally prefer blondes (Erin Andrews is way overrated) just because she likes sports does not make her all that hot, she is a good all around package but as far as hotness goes she is overrated. I will give you she is the all american girl / prom queen / girl next door, etc. but overall hotness just can't compete.

I would do that, the assumption would have to be that he would opt out.
