If Dunn walks three times a game the rest of the year it would be fine with me. -
Thanks for screwing up my fantasy team before I dropped you...now the sox dropped you, seems to be a common theme with your career.
-
I appreciate that you are no longer on our roster. Thanks.

Wikipedia gets updated fast Major league career [edit] Florida Marlins On March 28, 2007, De Aza was named the starting center fielder for the Marlins, beating out Reggie Abercrombie, Eric Reed, and Alex Sánchez in what was seen as a surprise. He batted .303 (10-for-33) in nine games for the Marlins before going on the disabled list on April 16 with a right ankle sprain; an MRI in mid-May revealed that his ankle had a hairline fracture. De Aza was called up by the Florida Marlins in May 2009. [edit] Chicago White Sox On October 21, 2009, the Chicago White Sox claimed De Aza off waivers from the Marlins. On July 27, 2011, hit the first home run of his MLB career against, Detroit Tiger pitcher, Max Scherzer. -

There is no surprise here. Payroll is way too high, attendance is down, and if we have a bad week this week attendance will be really bad the remainder of the year. Also if we get out of contention and they don't lock in season ticket holders from buying playoff tix they will lose a large % of season ticket sales. Basically the team really needs to win and stay in contention otherwise the economics breaks down and we are stuck with our big contracts for years. -
The sox can't white flag this from a financial perspective they need to remain in playoff contention so they can retain season ticket holders with the potential for playoff tickets, if they fall out of contention I would guess they will lose a huge amount of ST holders and the payroll will need to be slashed DRAMATICALLY (meaning we won't compete again while we have Dunn, PK, Rios, Peavy contracts). Surgical trades that makes sense and selling strenghts to cover weaknesses makes sense but a fire sale I don't see happening as Reinsdorf might as well sell the team and retire if he wants to see them win again in his lifetime. I see some tinkering with the knowledge that the division is going to be winnable every year (especially with some of the contracts/injuries the twins have had).
-
trade ozzie to marlins for prospects, let Cora manage out the remainder of the year.
-
Prediction, we tie it to force extras, then give it away.
-
stop it here before the wheels fall off the bus.

QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) I gots news for you brotha, he was healthy when he signed that contract and pitched like a $16M/yr pitcher. s*** happens, he got hurt. He's actually doing pretty damn well if you consider where he was a year ago. Alexei is a stud. Agreed, and we have comparably priced players without injuries who are performing worse than him. The issue is our manager not managing his players, which is HIS job. If JP can only go five we need to game plan around that.

This is a big three innings coming up...most drama so far this season! Lets get it done.
-
how about we rip through the top AL teams this week and get a streak and some confidence!!!

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 06:13 PM) So if the Sox win 2 out of 3, KW is a buyer and if they lose 2 out of 3 he's a seller? If the Sox somehow manage to win the division would this have been the most unenjoyable division winning season in history? That depends on how they would do in the playoffs. Lets get hot at the right time (that time being now and carry it for 3 months!).

Rangers are going to score more runs on the Twins tonight than we will score all season...18-1 in the fifth.

THIS TEAM WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN 5...4...3...2...1... -
The AL Central is just plain ugly...and we are sub .500...we need to pull off a 25-5 run like last year and put it away.
-
EPIC fail, too bad we can't fast forward until the end of the contract!
-
Have two regulars with the ABs Dunn/Rios are going to get performed as bad as these guys, I mean it is historic it seems.
-
Ozzie, lets not play the "Sunday" B Team tomorrow and try to actually get a sweep and some momentum....if you want to change the lineup lets pull Rios or Dunn.
