  1. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) I don't know how anyone thought this team was a 1st place/World Series calibre team back in February. Wasn't this team predicted to be a 3rd or 4th place team in the offseason? I expect we will be picked 3/4th this offseason also, motivation hopefully. I just have a feeling KW is a repeat of the subprime mortgage mess and we are going to have to pay for the "I want it now" mentality soon and the house of cards will be exposed and we are going to have some tough years...hopefully I am wrong and we have some good surprises out of the system...who knows I know I didn't expect a WS in 2005! Hope springs eternal come February 2011!!
  2. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) I turned the f***ing game off when it was 6-3. I've tried to remain optimistic like most of us, or well...a lot of us. But, I'm not watching any more of this crap this year. Done. I'll still check the box scores but it pisses me off too much to watch. Yep, time to go fishing...just need the heat to break in FL (still 90s and humid)
  3. I will be cheering for any team not named the Yankees or Phillies.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:45 PM) Statistically, did we have the easiest interleague schedule in all of baseball? 12 games vs Cubs, Pirates, and Nats have to get us in the running. Our strength of schedule is easiest in the AL (only easier schedules Brewers, Cubs, Reds) so before AJ and team pat themselves on the back for going >.500 with the seventh highest payroll in MLB they should keep it in perspective. Also interesting is that most playoff bound teams are not high payroll teams (1,4,10,11,15,19,21,27), a number of our players are overpaid and haven't produced (Linebrink, Teahen, Jenks, AJP), and much of the roster are old castaways (Jones, Manny, Kotsay) so we are going to have to fill a lot of roster spots with youngsters or FAs, I would much rather see what we have in the minors than watch another year of Jones/Kotsay/Teahen, etc.
  5. Did I just hear Twins fans singing Na Na Na Na at the game, someone better end that...that isn't right.
  6. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:37 PM) The players performance, though not right now what we want, is not because they are lazy or don't care. Baseball's hard and they're playing better than most everybody. They are going to win around 90 games. They've even played well recently. Twins have just played lights out. We do have young talent. Some perspective. Hindsight is always easy. They're still my team, and I get frustrated, sure, but I love 'em. I bet they win ~87 games, 6+ .500 is not what I am looking for, especially in our division when we should be cleaning up against KC/CLE and Detroit has been a minor league team the 2nd half...and we got smoked by Baltimore. The Twins have been good and deserve the division but if we didn't hand the twins numerous head-to-head games this year we would be right there. Just another tough pill to swallow at the end of a tough year, but I give them credit for keeping it interesting this far as I like many thought it was over in June...just hate losing to the Twins. The negativity on the board is just the passion of the fan base coming out in frustration...and games like this are very frustrating.
  7. Wow more runs after we have another epic fail...hope no one misses their early tee times tomorrow.
  8. and there is the choke... hard to break the Minnesota curse with these performances...
  9. PK with bases loaded coming up...Gardenhire pulling out his voodoo dolls
  10. well Alexei is having a good game today...pick it up!
  11. Was it just me or did that hit remind you of old school Ozzie, head high swinging...I will take it though!
  12. QUOTE (mcgrad70 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:09 PM) Man, these Sox pitchers give up a ton of runs after 2 out. That goes to concentration. These guys are mentally weak. Agreed, Danks seems to get rattled easy.
  13. good start lets respond...and not just threaten and choke.
  14. PK saving runs again...we would be the Mariners without him...
  15. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) for those that want AJ gone, there are no better options out there he should be batting 9th and platooning with a RHH I wouldn't mind that but I don't think his ego is going to allow that...
  16. if danks gets out of this the bullpen better shut them down...
  17. oh that will be a tie game or worse. I won't miss AJPs double plays next year.
  18. Even when we score it feels like a bad inning...we need to hold them here.
  19. AJP doing a Karkovice impersonation - RALLY KILLER...
