  1. You can't go from one extreme to the other, it will make you look like a complete asshole. Be nice, but not overly nice. Don't ask her out or mention what you did for her. Don't go out of your way to be a jerk and don't go out of your way to be nice. Walk that line for a week or two and see how it goes.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 10, 2013 -> 12:25 AM) I don't exactly know whats going on. Feel like the storyline is a little all over the place They have crammed a lot in two episodes but I think it will level off and be really good overall. Every time I've watched an episode of Under the Dome I immediately question why I did this to myself again. I'll let you know what I think of next weeks episode.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 8, 2013 -> 11:57 PM) What the 2nd episode good? Anybody see it yet I liked the second episode. I feel like there really are people like this in hollywood. Maybe not to this extreme but definitely possible. I believe this show will be very entertaining.
  4. I hated season 2 while it was happening, the end makes up for it. When I went back and rewatched the entire series, I definitely appreciate it more.

Not sure if this was mentioned yet but Ray Donnovan on Showtime started last week and was pretty good.
  6. I'm doing well with it already, typically buy lists and send direct mail to get the properties (don't like getting into bidding wars with anything listed). I was just seeing if anyone was getting properties in an unconventional way that I haven't thought of yet.
  7. Is anyone else investing in real estate? If so, where are you getting your properties from?

    Kitchen Renovation

The cheapest way I've found to update the kitchen (lot of experience with investment properties as well as my own home) is to save money on the cabinets, buy them from Ikea and change out the face + hardware. This will save you a Ton of money. Also, if you can get away with granite, I have a guy that is approximately half of what you would normally pay. If you're interested, send me an email and I'll give you his number. @RR, I've been finding wholesale properties for investors for years. If you need help with labor for contractors or any questions in general, feel free to send me an email. mike@newmarketrealty.com
  9. I have a standing Friday night poker game (we play once a month), the email to see who's available goes to about 40 people. I'm going to send this out to them, pretty sure you'll get a good turn out from these guys. I'm playing Friday night, but I have a christening Sunday morning and then my nephews bday party in the afternoon, if I can get out early, I'll be there. Good luck!
  10. Chitown_tuna I've been blocked by an NFL hall of famer so I'm kind of a big deal.
  11. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Feb 17, 2013 -> 09:38 AM) For better or worse I ended up leasing a new Camry se. My current job doesn't pay particularly well so was able to get a new car with affordable payments(350) and hopefully by end of the lease I'm in position to afford a car. The good thing is my credit rating was higher than I thought and this should only help it. Don't sell yourself short. The Camry is a very nice vehicle and it's been my experience that Toyota in general has been very reliable...(the problems they had a couple years ago didn't affect me or anyone I knew)
  12. Just bought a car last week. Pay attention to the details. Gap insurance sounded like a great idea until I found out the next day that my insurance company already covered that. Weil Cadillac - $1,000 Tuna - 0
  13. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 07:56 AM) Right, because they want to force him to pay child support so she doesnt need state aid. If the situation with her has become so bad that the state is trying to force me to pay for a child, then I just became a surprise dad and its time to invest in that relationship personally as well as financially. Fair point.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 3, 2013 -> 07:26 AM) What a terrible situation for the child. First, the parents break up within a year, then on state aid, now looking for parental support from a parent that thought he had no paternal liability. Hell, if I was the Dad I would countersue for full custody. F*** her It's the state suing him, not the mother.

    The Food

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 24, 2012 -> 09:24 AM) Dinner tonight is at Wolfgang Puck's Cut, in the Palazzo. One of the best steakhouses in the world. It is the girlfriend's birthday. Tomorrow I will be warming up the Christmas meal she made separately for me, so I don't have to go to her family's house. Easily the best steak joint I've ever been to. When you're looking at Cut, there's a Mexican joint to the left that's really good as well. I stay at Palazzo every time I'm in Vegas because of those two places.
  16. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 26, 2012 -> 10:40 AM) she's floated the idea before about incorporating another person into our private time QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 25, 2012 -> 06:28 PM) Yeah, I'd endorse this.

  18. There's nothing wrong with what you did. Don't over think it, everyone has their own style.
  19. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 08:41 AM) Our league instituted the Window Rule. Every owner has 48 hours from when the trade is published to make a better offer. Trade processes immediately after the 48 hour window closes. That way "The Market" dictates the price of the player. Note that this is a keeper league where teams that fall out of contention normally deal for picks in the next year's draft so there are usually tons of trades. Additionally, we have had to make a lot of tweaks to the Window Rule to make it work and prevent everyone from waiting 47 hours to try and beat the initial offer. But it gets rid of stupid vetoes and encourages trading. This is very interesting. I would think this would cause even more arguing because someone always thinks they offered the better deal that wasn't accepted. Do you get that a lot? I would be pissed if I worked on a trade for a few days and someone just comes in and takes him from underneath me because he knew the outline of the trade (and what he had to beat).
  20. QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Oct 16, 2012 -> 10:51 AM) The league im in had the veto system for the past two seasons, but this season theres been a team that traded away Chris Johnson for Michael Bush, and Andre Johnson for Ryan Williams and Nate Washington. Collusion!!!!! If Chris Johnson's name isn't Chris Johnson then he's nothing more than a bye week plug in. I have him this year and it's the most frustrating player I've ever dealt with. I actually have a trade pending right now, I sent CJ and Boldin...I get Mike Wallace. I couldn't hit accept fast enough. With all that being said, the second the trade is processed, he will go off for the rest of the season.
  21. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Oct 12, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) I offered solutions. You say I dont read your responses. You act as if money is hard to come by despite living in Crystal Lake(and working at white castle). Not everyone here is a dr/lawyer/accountant, so that idle generalization hold no water here. I know not everyone can hit 5-50 games a year, but if you WANT to go, you WILL find a way. I have a newborn at home, and I still managed to hit 4 games in september. I even organized a mini group(7 people including myself) for one of them. We spent $140 total on lower reserved seats. And $18 on parking. And everyone but myself lived out in the western burbs(I'm in the city) A) sometimes money is hard to come by. My idle generalization is about as ridiculous as yours -that money will just appear in your pocket if YOU REALLY WANT TO GO- B) your wife is no doubt nicer than mine.
  22. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Oct 12, 2012 -> 12:18 PM) With a code, you could have gotten to a game for $9 on a weekend($12 after fees). So a family of four($48) plus parking($23) comes out to $100. And if you tailgate, you save a lot on your food expenses. Hell, the Smart Circle package(that I posted on here and other sites) offered 12 1/2 off tickets and four tickets at $1 each for $40(plus $5 shipping). So if you factor in the cost of the package plus the four $1 tickets, you spending $49 on a weekend date(most dates were friday and sunday games, with a few saturdays thrown in), while still having vouchers for 12 1/2 off tickets. So YES, I think you are making excuses. If you want to go to a game, you have more than one way to get there. Hell, you can even go for free when you sign your kids for the kids' club. I typically don't respond to people who obviously haven't read my post all the way through, but for you I'll make the exception. I very clearly said, "With all that being said, it's not like I don't go to games. I do, but that is my reasoning of why I don't go to more." More being the key word in that sentence. I never said the Sox make it impossible to go to one game, my issue is location (which can't be solved), pricing, convenience. While $49 is a very good price, sometimes it's not doable. I know that a good portion of this site seem to be doctors, lawyers, accountants and the like, but some of us do work at White Castle
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 12, 2012 -> 07:40 AM) If Sox fans exerted the same amount of energy trying to attend Sox games that they exert making excuses about why they don't go to games, the Cell would be sold out 81 games year. This is ridiculous. In your opinion, if someone voices a complaint are they now "crying" about it? That's another one of my favorites. If a conversation comes up about reasons why I don't go to a lot of games, I will give them. You can raise your nose and say they are "excuses" if you want to I suppose. The fact is, yes, there's public transportation, but it doesn't make any sense for me. 3 or 4 round trip tickets on the Metra + taking/paying the el round trip doesn't offer any financial solution. Add in taking my 4 year old on the red line at 10 pm isn't an ideal situation for me. With all that being said, it's not like I don't go to games. I do, but that is my reasoning of why I don't go to more.
  24. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 07:00 PM) Less legally purchased guns and bullets means less guns and bullets available to steal. I think that's the concept, not that I think it's a realistic idea. I understand the concept and I'm not a big gun advocate. If you just look at our history, when they made alcohol illegal, it wasn't much harder to find. If it's too expensive, people made hooch. Same goes for heroin, cocaine, etc...when that was too expensive you saw/see people cooking meth in trailers. The criminal element is a crafty bunch.
  25. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 10, 2012 -> 04:36 PM) She heard Chris Rock's bullet routine and thought it was a good idea. Based on the 15 seconds this morning on either NBC or WBEZ that I heard about this, the idea is simply that higher taxes=less gun/bullet purchases=less supply on the street. Only problem with that line of thinking is half the time criminals steal the guns which obviously means they don't pay taxes. Gangs have a lot of disposable income. Each member has to pay dues every week, if you sell drugs in the neighborhood a percentage comes back to the gang, etc...there are a lot of revenue streams. Higher costs for when they send a straw buyer down south or to a gun show is a slight inconvenience. In the mean time it can make or break whether an honest joe can afford the purchase.
