  1. lets test your skills... set up a graveyard to reflect the wsox farm system, the headstones can have the names of prospects traded this year (carter, dls, sweeney, gio, etc...). have the angel of death lurking above with kenny williams face...make it happen. (if by some miracle you are able to create this please leave the link so i can use it as a sig in one of my sim baseball leagues)
  2. Bureau, the more defensive you get the clearer it is that you work at the mall during the day and post at night...
  3. Whether it's a deal for Roberts or not doesn't matter, any way you look at it Anderson has to be traded. He doesn't like the Sox and the Sox don't like him so there's no point hoarding him in Charlotte when you can try to get something back for him.
  4. Chicago has a decent drug supply so we coulda signed him long term...
  5. 1st off, I don't think I said that they "weren't good because they're in our system". The fact of the matter is the teams that are in on these talks exceed what we have. Not only do we not have enough depth as far as young guys go but they are not considered "elite" by anybody outside of this forum. What's funny is I see these names get thrown around like they have so much value but they can't even make the roster on our fourth place club. We have security at 4 positions (3 if your scenario of sending Fields out became a reality). What sense does it make to send the remaining good specs we have out of town to acquire one guy? The answer is none, this team is farther away than 1 or 2 players can fix. Nobody said that the Dodgers specs are good because they're in their system...Bottom line is they happen to have more talent in their farm than we do in ours and that holds true for the Red Sox, Yankees and Angels as well. 3rd I agree with half of your last line, some of our prospects are good (my words were they are not GREAT). I don't agree that we have enough to get Miggy...
  6. I don't agree with you on this, Hughes is one of the best pitching specs out there (if not the best). Gio isn't in the top 5. Sweeney couldn't make our team so Minnesota takes him in a Santana trade? Fields is obviously good but you really think he's good enough to make up the difference between Gio and Hughes? The 3 teams that are in on these talks have specs that our specs aspire to be like... Does anyone else get annoyed when people talk about our specs like they're great? I actually saw a thread where people were saying that we have a package of prospects that could land MCab...lol you guys need to stay away from the west side and get to a meeting...
  7. I read about the NTC on the Suntimes website, I got the feeling it was limited but the article wasn't detailed enough to know. I tried finding it again so I could link you guys but it's gone...
  8. we have a lot of position players that are either getting old or will need to be replaced based on performance. Jim Thome (not position but you know what I mean), Uribe, Dye, AJ...no CF, no LF (I read that Fields will play 3rd or go to Charlotte), I'm not entirely sold on Richar yet...are bullpen is in shambles. SP is the only thing that we are pretty deep in (although obviously not flooded with super stars) and the solution to this is to trade Fields (the closest spec to being a sure thing we have) for yet another sP spec?
  9. It wasnt clear what Pauly said in the interview. Supposedly he was called into KW's office and he said the team has a shot to make a run. Then not long after he gave that interview where he said this may be the highlight of the season so the guys should make it count. My problem is if the Sox say lets trade everyone (Dye, Guch, Buehrle, crede - if possible with the whole surgery thing) Im afraid we wont get any value back because of how theyre playing (minus Buehrle because he's doing well). You guys know how baseball is, nobody remembers last year, its all about what youre doing now. We have a better shot riding out their slump than getting back anything decent. I mean, where would you even start to fix the bullpen for christ sake? It doesnt matter who they call out during the game, as soon as Ozzie comes out to the mound I want to cry...
  10. I grew up in Bridgeport (33rd and Parnell), the neighborhood is what it is. I use to stand out in front of the old comiskey everyday getting autographs, get tickets for a few dollars and sneak to the box seats, back then the stadium wouldnt get half filled so nobody really cared where we sat. ive loved baseball for as long as i could remember, it only seems natural that I should root for the team that plays a few blocks from home... if anybody cares, the nicest player i ever came in contact with was Harold Baines. The man would literally sign a hundred things if thats what you had.
  11. I got a buddy named Franky Caruso and I have his number.... well...not really a buddy, to tell you the truth he's a real jerk off but nonetheless I have his number if you want it...
  12. Maybe Ozzie will play SS this year... why not? Ive heard every other ridiculous scenario in this thread...
