  1. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 04:54 PM) Holy crap, I leave for 3 days and I come back to panic mode? That's... Okay so if you want to panic, do so because our talented bullpen has failed us. There's no room to complain about the offense or rotation, where most of the payroll is invested, because they've been good. Is this thread meant to suggest that they wish we'd spent more money on bullpen arms? If so, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY disagree. Signing bullpen arms to large money is risky business and is not as likely to give us a return as an expensive Rios or Dunn or even Peavy is. Seriously, just because people are justifiably upset with bullpen blowups does not give them carte blanche to rewrite history or bash whatever the he'll they please. There is sooo much freaking time left. We were well below .500 last year, yet led the division in July last year. So wtf are people sh**ing their pants over? Call me back in a month if the issues are the same, Christ. Apparently you didn't read the "Dunn is done" thread yet. It has become fashionable to make sweeping judgements about the season based on a few weeks, all while ignoring the many positives. Didn't you know? I am looking forward to watching the Indians in the world series, as long as they can get past the royals.
  2. This has to be a joke. Dunn made the defense worse at DH, is bad because he doesn't get on base enough, and "who cares about OPS"... Must at least be a solid troll to get this much of a reaction with those claims.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) Man, Rongey's really getting in to it with some dude. What about exactly?
  4. Do you like our chances in 2008 given the other changes made this offseason thus far? I am not exactly a fan of mortgaging our entire future for swisher if it does nothing but secure 3rd in the division. So following logically, I ask myself what it takes in addition to the moves made thus far this offseason to truly compete in 08. I am (potentially overly optimistic) somewhat hopeful that a real solid SP addition might just put us into contention, even in our ridiculous division. Given that we have a fairly decent trading chip left in a stud 3b to move, im hoping that a solid SP is attainable. Does anyone else think we are now only 1 or 2 pieces away from being an actual competitor? I am only concerned about 2b and middle relief if we add 1 more SP to be honest, and we have potential solutions to those problems within our own farm system imo.
  5. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 18, 2006 -> 02:59 PM) Mark is a competitor. I'm sure it irks him (in a playful way) that Garland hit that HR. Nothing at all to make a big deal about. I didn't mean either of their comments would be mean spirited. They are freinds and the clubhouse as we all know has a great atmosphere. I am just saying if Garland tries to tease Buehrle I think Buehrle has a hell of a comeback.
  6. Anyone else thing that Hawk and DJ's comments about Garland having bragging rights over Buehrle is kind of stupid? I imagine the conversation would go a little something like this: Garland: So I hit a homerun. Guess that makes me a better hitter! Buehrle: My ERA is 3 points lower than yours and we are paid to be pitchers. Garland: yea.... that is true........
  7. What is with all these terrible sb attempts lately. I love an aggressive approach, but these arent even close lately.
  8. anybody else realise kyle orton is in the background when they zoom in on right handed hitters
  9. Is there a little more support for the 3 year extension on the Count now? I still think this was a huge deal for us.
  10. No TV feed here, has it been said yet why Gload came into the game? Ease my worries and tell me just as a precaution.
  11. That was quite possibly the most frustrating inning of baseball I have ever watched.

    Uribe

So is Ozzie playing Cintron becuase Uribe is hurt, or because Cintron has a hitting streak. If it is due to the hitting streak I am a little suprised, because it has been quite a few games now that Uribe hasnt been in.
  13. Bobby Jenks getting hit hard was at no fault of his own today. Seeing him hit 100 mph makes me feel a LOT better about him.
