My therapist advised me to stay out of game threads, but I live for this chaos.

I’d gladly take a catcher who provides gold glove defense and sucks offensively. He was touted as a great defensive catcher due to the metrics and between last year/this year he is not (cool he’s injured this year). Nothing last year screamed to me great defensive catcher and I watched almost every game in the shorten season.

I think we’ve had this discussion before if I’m not mistaken. Offensively what he did last year I believe is what he is. It’s the defense that was greatly overrated. Between the errors, catcher interference, the lackadaisical plays (I remember when that relay home just went through his legs since he wasn’t looking/prepared), and pitch calling. I do not believe he is an above average defensive catcher despite what the metrics say about his framing.

If he was living up to this narrative, no one would be complaining. He wasn’t signed for his previous accomplishments. He was average at best last year and has been horrendous so far this year

I won’t comment on his past accomplishments cause I didn’t watch those teams. But if he is coaching exactly the same right now how he did in the past, then his teams won inspite of him and not because of him. He obviously doesn’t care because he apologized leaving Foster out there to die and then just did the same exact thing two weeks later. Either he doesn’t care or he’s dumb as hell.

This is the guy who apologized after his first DUI and swore to never do it again.... you think he cares if he messes up in a baseball game when he doesn’t even care about life/death situations?

? So isn’t the manager suppose to put the team in the best position possible to win the game? In this instance it was apparent to everyone except maybe Tony and I guess Katz that Lucas was already laboring to get through the 6th inning. He was already basically at 100 pitches. He walked the lead off guy and yet remained in the game with no one up in the BP. But hey it’s April who cares about one loss he’s preparing this team for the post season!
