Almost identical stats to last year or worse. -
Where's the party on Sunday?
ShoeLessRob replied to LosMediasBlancas's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Like most of what you all said, prefer to be alone or with family. Don't want to be surrounded by people who aren't even fans of the team... or even game. So planning to go a relatives house and enjoy the game. -
"I was just asked a question what I felt at that time, and what I feel at this time. If this has shown me anything, it's shown me I've got to change the way I conduct business."

That is indeed a good shot of Fields first one.

As most have already stated, it's not even Spring Training yet and this bickering has already begun, wouldn't it make Kenny's life much easier if he just simply answered "I have no comment on that situation at this time." But no... has to keep poking the snake with a stick. Now if this continue's Mark is going to say some s*** and then the cycle repeats and he leaves the organization on a bad note.

Doubt any sport event could ever top the '05 season for me... Love football and my skin's blue and orange but my heart will always be white and black.

QUOTE(Cali @ Jan 26, 2007 -> 10:43 PM) As a shaggy haired person, I'm gonna go ahead and say BA needs to keep it long. He was all clean cut at the begining of the year and SUCKED He let it grow toward the end of the year and SUCKED a little less. I think the choice is clear.... Amen Brotha.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) Actually that might be one of the reasons why they signed him. Maybe, I guess we'll see the team's approach in the upcoming weeks.
-
QUOTE(NUKE @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) Erstad is also injury prone. But Erstad isn't expected to be our starting leadoff left fielder.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jan 23, 2007 -> 03:56 PM) Even better for you, he most likely will be wearing the number of the one and only Mike Caruso.

As mentioned before we have enough pitchers for another team... I love the depth we have in the minors etc. but uhh... what about position players? Last time I checked we have virtually no one at SS or 2nd... -
Gwynn and Ripken are HOF class of 2007

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 9, 2007 -> 03:50 PM) What would McGwire talk about at his speech? Pretty sure not the past ... -
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 5, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) First of all, f*** s*** cock balls son of a b****, there goes the defense Secondly, the mass of Soxtalk would be completely pissed about Cintron at SS come, oh, April 18th. Third, don't strike up any trade rumors about big name players, because at this point, the value of these players will completely destroy what KW has built up (meaning probable packages of Crede, Gio, and Danks for ARod and Tejada). And finally...Podsednik for Carillo and Blanks beau? If we're getting that much for garbage, why don't we just take Greene from them and keep Crede? And horrid platoon of Sledge and Cruz? Sledge has never really been a good player, but every season Cruz has been in the big leagues, he's had a respectable season. As an 8 hitter, he's worth hanging on to at like $650K or whatever ridiculously cheap salary he's at. I'm surprised they don't C*** out cock. Hm... learn something new everyday.

Thanks all for filling us in. Good reading.

Hm .. Shingo? Although he was part of the '05 team for a bit.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 10:12 PM) Ray Liotta took a huge step back, I wouldnt put him in that rotation at all. No Gio aswell? Eesh.
-
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Dec 24, 2006 -> 02:16 PM) Reading that post from him. I was just thoroughly reminded of the scenes from the film Major League where they have the fans talking about how the team is going to suck despite making the playoffs etc. Your avatar gives me nightmares.

BA as 32 eh? Seems like 44 is the rookie OF number they throw at the player. Anderson ... Rowand ... anyone else?

Some thoughts on the trades so far

QUOTE(JERMAINEDYE4MVP @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 06:45 PM) BOOLSHEET. ONE THING I LIKE ABOUT HAVING 2 TEAMS IS THAT WHEN ONE OF THEM SUX, THE OTHER USUALLY DOES NOT.. SO.. GOOD NIGHT WHITE SOX... GOOD MORNING CUBS! Is this clown banned yet? -
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 02:45 PM) i think a big part of the backlash on this is the emotional response to trading a young pitcher who has shown something. it's not necessarily about losing what McCarthy gave us the last two years. people here cant point to past McCarthy accomplishments and say what we lost. just 7 games in 2005. KW does not follow the rules about "you dont trade a 23 yr old pitcher". he has no problem losing Brandon and working to get someone in the 5th role that will put up decent numbers, just as Brandon would have. Uh ... who is that 5th role person? Floyd is not the answer... at all.

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) We might still see a major free agent signing. Zito? For 150 mil dollars??? Lol.
-
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 02:31 PM) Except for the fact that you are taking a ten game sample. Hey I have no idea what he'll do but I'm just replying to the poster I was quoting if he indeed does put up an ERA around 3.90 ...
-
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) are people confident in Brandon for reasons beyond that stretch of games in 2005? i dont know what else people get so excited about. a lot of people seem to totally ignore 06, in that he was out of his element. but when Brandon would talk about how he missed being able to set people up early in the game...how that was a big part of what he does... doesnt it just reinforce the suspicion we've all had that his stuff isnt that high end? if the guys we got have that kind of stuff, i'm definitely willing to part with a 3.90 ERA 2007 starter. A 3.90 ERA is damn good for a 5th starter ... in the American League ... for as cheap as he is ... and with that ERA he would have been the best pitcher on the staff in '06.
