QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 02:23 PM) BTW, IMO the chances of Anderson getting shipped off just went up a ton. hm?
-
QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) if the one youre getting can be a ton better in 2 years. the one you give up is still an unknown for 2007. not on these boards, obviously, but he is an unknown. So do you like Floyd as our 5th starter? Then eventually us bringing up Gio Gonzalez or Danks to try and fill that hole when Floyd f***s up? And you don't know if Danks is going to be a ton better in 2 years.

QUOTE(Princess Dye @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) everyone loves BMac for 7 games he pitched for us in 2005. 1.69 ERA. everything else from him has been here or there. now if you take the emotion of that 2005 year out of it, which KW has to do as a job.... you will give that player up for top flight prospects. Ok so you lose your own best pitching prospect for 2 others that won't be ready for what ... 3 years? Masset maybe next year but I mean comon. And with the number's I'm looking at from Danks, he's not blowing me away.

I've got to say if this deal is final, then jebus christ. We'll have a rotation of Jose, Mark, Garland, Javy, ...???? Then it's back to all the years before '05 where we bring in journeymen or give Floyd, Danks or any other minor leaguer a shot?

Where the f*** did this come???? I mean .. what the.

Would you take a tamed lion from birth and release him into the wild?

QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Dec 20, 2006 -> 02:11 PM) I think the White Sox should win 90+ games barring injury. Pods is playing for his career, Anderson too. Dye, Uribe, Iguchi and Buehrle are in contract years. Vaz has something to prove. Hall is a huge upgrade over the Widge and Sandy (although I kinda hope Sandy retires and coaches the C's in the minors). Garland will have a chip on his shoulder. 1. White Sox 2. Detroit 3. Cleveland 4. Minnesota 5. KC (but I think they may hit the 70 win mark this year) Please ... Gload can't win 70 games on his own ...

Francisco was aquired as a Free Agent on July 30th, 2002. 2004: Was rated by Baseball America as the No. 8 prospect in the White Sox organization and the No. 2 prospect in the Appalachian League. Began the season at Advanced Rookie Bristol. Led the club in doubles(13), total bases(89), extra-base hits(19), and slugging percentage(.492). He threw out 33.3 percent of attemped basestealers which was second best in the league. 2005: Combined to hit .296 with nine home runs and 52 RBI in 102 games between Class A Kannapolis and Advanced Rookie Great Falls. Threw out 44.8% of attemped basestealers. Led team(Great Falls) in average(.349), doubles(19), slugging percentage(.524), and on base percentage(.405). Recorded 20 multi hit games. 2006: In his first full season with Kannapolis, Francisco struggled. Hitting 16 doubles and 6 homeruns. He drove in 34 runs and set career highs in stolen bases(3) and base on balls(22). His On base percent however dropped to .305 and in 316 at bats he recorded 78 hits(.247). Career Awards: Pioneer League All-Star Team(2005) and Rookie Level All-Star Team(2004). Enters the season as the No. 9 prospect in the White Sox organization. Fransico is a very young player with raw major league material. Behind the plate he has a quick release and rocket arm. With a bat in his hands he can hit from both sides of the plate(far better from the left side) with decent power. Despite the number's ... he has above average speed for his position and can swipe a few bases from time to time. Expected to start '07 in Kannaplois. Hopefully in his second full year he can put up number's closer to '04 and '05. He is still a very young prospect with alot of potential.

Haha since I'm the only one mad about this move ... Boo. Buddy of mine lives real close to the park so it isn't a hassle for me nor him getting there. Ah well, Go Sox.

Very happy about the White Sox weekend !

QUOTE(WHITESOXRANDY @ Dec 18, 2006 -> 09:45 AM) I have to give props to Kenny now. I love the 2 moves he made ! 1. We are now set at catcher for a while. We have a good starter, a good backup and a good young 3rd in Charlotte almost ready. That's the way it should be. We've also got the lefty-righty thing and both are solid defensively. 2. Gload for Sisco is a great deal. Gload has upside but let's face it, the Sox couldn't even find time to play him and they get a good looking young pitcher back. It's an awesome move. I still would like to see another experienced reliever added and we need another OFer that can play center but we need a lot less than we did before the weekend. I feel much better about the team now. And, I was beginning to lose sleep at the thought of having Alomar back again. WAY TO GO KENNY ! Don't think Stewart is at all ready for the MLB but besides that ... the signing of Hall is great and the Sisco move can turn out to be great for us. -
If they aren't asking for anything to crazy, Rios would be great to have. He's going to be a great player ... hell he already is ... but like above, they would probally ask for McCarthy in return and that would be difficult to swallow.

The Chicago White Sox and free-agent catcher Toby Hall have agreed to terms on a two-year, $3.65-million contract with a club option for 2009. Wooohooooo!!! This is fantastic news.

Going to miss Gload, but like other's have said. Hopefully he'll have the chance to finally be a starter and show what he's got.

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Dec 12, 2006 -> 08:40 AM) You spelled my name wrong in your signature. Sweet I made the list! Christmas has come early this year!

QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) Keep bringing the hate folks. Just shows your own failings as human beings. Coming to a Chicago White Sox board with that name and picture shows how immature you are.

QUOTE(S720 @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 11:07 AM) Does the team you grew up loving PAY for your humongous salary? If you work for the Ford company, would you dare driving a Japanese car into its lots? At least have some courtesy and respect for the team that is paying you huge money to play for it by NOT showing your love for that team in public! And this is not the first time that he has done this. If he loves the Cardinals that much, trade his ass as far as I'm concerned. This makes no sense ... Japense cars suck.

QUOTE(The Critic @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) Any idea where Clemens is leaning? Surprisingly, I haven't seen too much press about him yet. Rumor has it the second Yankee Team, but who know's.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 10:48 PM) AMEN on Mark Buehrle Jerry, even if the people won't like it around here. If he wants to wear a freaking Cardinals cap around, go play for 'em. People need to let that f***ing go. Put yourself in a player's position. If you were an MLB player and were drafted to say ... the angels? Your whole life you were a White Sox fan, born and raised. What is wrong with wearing a Sox hat say at the end of the season? Nothing at all. Now if he actually made a comment like I don't want to be in a White Sox uni anymore or I can't wait til I become a free agent and get to become a card then it would be a new story.
-
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) He didn't need to say anything about Buehrle, but Reinsdorf has shown the past couple of years he is willing to open his wallet when need be, and letting his GM make decisions in the best interest of the team. Add in the fact that as attendance has gone up, he's been willing to spend more, as well as the fact he and the Sox are involved in numerous programs to help others, he's done a pretty fair job so far. That and a World Championship. Yea ... the Buehrle part was kinda a low blow ... not needed.

Barry Bonds and the Giants have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year, $16 million contract. It seemed certain to happen sooner or later, and though we thought the Giants would try to force a bigger pay cut than this, it's a fair salary for Bonds in this market. With Bonds back, the Giants can now try to do something to patch up what a rather ugly pitching staff. Even if Bonds plays in 130 games, the team isn't going to contend without adding another quality starter or two.

QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 05:42 PM) Are you really comapring Widger with the likes of Pujols and A-Rod? Because I never did. The point is that A-Rod is not a team player. He is a great individual HOF player to watch and enjoy. He has a track record of not doing well in the playoffs and has cost his teams the opportunity to win a ring. I think it would be a mistake to bring him in. One again this is my opinion and if he ever does put on a White Sox uniform I will support him and hope they win. He hasn't done bad in the playoffs, his performance is just overblown since he's with the team he is with. And if one player is costing his team the chance to win a ring, well then that team shouldn't be near getting a ring in the first place.

QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) I swear I read he was talking to the Dodgers http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...ay.scoop/2.html This time we have 5 pitchers too still and do not have Kip Wells starting He's not no more. Signed with Dodgers for one year ... 7 mil.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) I can see the Royals trading both Meche and Perez going into the all star break..... I can't see another team wanting Meche if he doesn't do decent with that contract now.
