  1. We're about to be the first team to 70, boys! Doing things out here no other team in baseball can.
  2. If we finally get through our front office rock heads, that seeing what we have in our own system is a better plan than shopping for options at Goodwill, I agree. It may not show in the record, but we're setting ourselves up better for a more realistic view of the near future.
  3. There is no reason whatsoever, to even consider holding Fedde beyond the trade deadline. The Sox finally hit on one of the bargain basement signings, now convert it into something that may be of use, long term. And I read someone say this team might be better in the 2nd half....I can't see any world in which that is true. Once Pham, Fedde, Brebbia, Flexen, DeJong, maybe Robert and Crochet, are all gone, it will be even worse as the growing pains kick in.
  4. Just think....every loss accumulated right now, sets a new record for games below 500 in 2024!
  5. I'd honestly rather keep Crochet and Robert. I know, I know, but still...I'm all for trading anyone else on this rag tag roster. Get something out of Fedde, any of the vets, and whatever else is left that is not named Korey Lee, but lets at least try to make some improvements overall while also keeping Crochet/Robert. Also, move #1 should be move Kopech asap.
  6. I'd rather it be Sheets than Vaughn, but ultimately it matters not a lot in the grand scheme.
  7. I'm calling a 46-116 season, not even 'good' enough to be the worst ever, somehow. And Pedro Grifol will still be employed.
  8. A loss tonight puts the boys at a season high 41 games under 500!
  9. There isn't really a single arm in the bullpen, who is consistently getting the job done. I loathe everything about Grifol, but honestly....there is no right choice to be made once the starter is out.
  10. Lee seems to be hitting a bit of a wall, possibly. His last 30 games have been pretty rough.
  11. True, still, not much in the way of MLB player FA signings that we've had work out.
  12. To be fair, he is basically the same guy in 2024, as he always has been. At least we're getting the same 33% K rate guy that he's always been.
  13. Nicky Lopez, your 3rd highest BA on the team.
  14. God, that list is depressing. The only one I could think of right offhand, was Albert Belle, but then I remembered that wasn't even in the 2000s. Gracious, what a sad sack of a front office.
  15. And I say this, moreso in reference to the 'pennies on the dollar' type FA signings this front office goes for, instead of legitimate front line A tier players.
  16. I'm sure it is just recency bias and all, but can you name a FA signing in the last 25 years, that was a 3+ year signing that didn't fail miserably in Chicago? Sure feels like they are rarer than a unicorn.
  17. 2-8, 5.45 ERA for prized player Michael Kopech.
  18. And........boom goes the dynamite. 4-1 into the 7th, BTW. I can't wait until Eloy and Kopech are playing in ..........well, anywhere else.
  19. Mental Midget doesn't begin to cover it. Wait, can we still say that? Mental 'short person'.
