Full point to Cerbaho_WG for the comeback.
-
If Este has to come out, I wouldnt want Buehrle in...his WHIP is kinda bad
-
Yes, but adding on to it...this is 4 years in a row that we've lost on the LAST drive of the game....this was such a winnable game, and if not for the blocked punt at the beginning of the game, its a USC win.
-
I am having a hard time taking the fact that my USC boys went into Knoxville tonight, played them straight up, won every statistical category except punting, and lost in OT. We kick a FG in OT, take the 20-17 lead. UT has a 3rd down and 4, throws the Fade, DB slips, ballgame. Ouch....it doesn't help that I have always hated UcheaT and their football team. :puke

And since his visit to Charlotte to re-establish his swong, the guy, when given the rare AB by Manuel, has been pretty good. He only got 156 damn ABs!!! :fyou JM. He managed to hit .282 in those random ABs, and I'm not sure that Carl can do what he did here again in 2004. I'd love to have Carl, but out of Carl, Frank and Konerko...at least ONE of them HAS to go. Too much in financial implications between those 3 next year.
-
Well, if ya want Carl around, it may cost ya Maggs position. If this organization is stupid enough to let CLee get away for Carl to play LF, I'll be seriously scratching my head. No chance he should come back as the everyday CF, Rowand is so much better in the field, at a key defensive position. That leaves RF, where we have 20% of our expected 2004 payroll playing. Folks, Maggs may not be with the Sox come next year, methinks....but if we replace him with Carl for a year or 2, I may be ok with it, assuming we get Carl at 7-8 mil.

I wanna see any GM in major league baseball put together a great team with the constraints that Dickhead Jerry Reinsdorf has on this organization. Did KW make mistakes? Oh, hell yeah...but he has gotten better as time has passed. He continues to do his homework, and go after what he thinks we need. Can anyone say that Jerry Manuel has gotten better as time passed?? .........didn't think so........

Hey, Johnny Park....been a while since I listened to The Colour and the Shape....one of my favs from that disc was "New Way Home"

Beatles- Dig A Pony Closure- Look Out Below Fiona Apple- Never Is a Promise Pearl Jam- Immortality Foo Fighters- Tired of You

Thats cool elrockinMT....but with that being saod, we have to find a way to move Konerko from this team, we'll need the $$$ he is making, and it will be better spent elsewhere.
-
In other news, namely the SOX, nice to see my boy AaRow getting 2 hits tonight....Sadly, he'll end up with more ABs in Arizona Fall League than he did this whole season probably.
-
Just in case you all didn't know............. Danny Wright Owns!!!! :finger

I'd much rather see Everett. I totally agree with you. I love Everett. by him sitting on his ass alot lately, it looks like the Sox don't want him around next year. I want him to be back real bad! I was considering sending KW a letter regarding what Everett brings to the team and that he should be brought back. I know its a stupid idea, and he wont even read it, but hey. I have nothing better to do. Sorry, but in terms of defense, Everett can't hold AaRow's jockstrap. Everett consistently throws the ball to the wrong base, allowing runners to advance. He gets quite a few bad reads, which normally means CLee and Maggs have to bail him out. Not to mention that he made 9.150 million this year, and thats something this team can't afford next year. That would be a 23 million dollar combo in CF and RF, thats ridiculous for a team that wont have a payroll over 65-70 million.
-
Face it, either Frank at 6/8 million, or Konerko at 8 million have to go. I guess it'd be better to keep Frank, stick him at #5 in the order, let him DH, get us a REAL first baseman, and we save money there already.
-
No chance that Frank agrees to go to the #5 hole. He says himself that he should be the #3 hitter, and is VERY resistant to change. We tried that before, and Frank got grumpy about it.
-
Well, you did say that it doesnt bother you, but yet you continue to put new topics up about Loz....just let it die, be content to not like Este, and that'll be that.
-
Thing is, he himself has dedicated his batting style to being all power, not OBP. When the big man himself says thats what he wants to do now, it is troublesome.
-
Frank gave us some great years, but sadly, its time for the organization to move on. Lets quit building a team of slow, right handed, power-or-popup hitters, and build a real team. Franks 6/8 mill, PKs 8 mill.....thats 20+% of our freakin payroll, on 2 of the worst fielding, slowest players around. If we can move both of them, so be it. If we can only keep one...thats tough....PK can play 1st everyday, albeit not greatly. Hes younger, but, as hard as it is to believe, slower than Frank. Catch-22 either way.
-
Hmmm....you make that post sound like you won't be around when Loz is here next year....if thats the case, then.... If thats what it takes to keep you from these retarded posts, then so be it.
-
Has anyone seen our "MVP" Frank Thomas?? He's been missing since the beginning of September. :fyou your useless cuts on Loz, Roman
-
We're giving alot of credit to Jim Thome. He is not the messiah of winning baseball. He is a solid player...but a) hes slow, B) hes a power hitter. Those are 2 of the qualities that we have too much of already. I do understand your point, however.
-
Yeah, no chance this team as it is can do much better, maybe +/- 5 games with a new manager. Too much slow footed, popup right handedness in the lineup. Bring in some switch hitting speed....some fundamentally sound players.
-
And how often has he been given a chance to do that. Few times, sir. *Looks down in shame* no biggie beastly....you are one of the few people on these boards that can admit being wrong, thats commendable. (see any thread about loaiza). Willie, none of us are sure that he can get it done if playing regularly, but we might get to see in 2004, with a revamped Sox team.
-
If that was 2 tonight, that makes 27 f***ing GIDPs....thats sad......and I bet as a team, we have 50.... :puke

Not sure how you can say Koch has no passion for the game. The guy wants a shot to go out there and redeem himself everynight. He just doesnt have the arm strength or ability right now to do so. Olivo just can't hit any breaking pitches, otherwise he is a solid player that tries. Right now, I think its less about 'heart' and more about gametime performance. Right now, no one in this lineup is performing, or did when they needed to
