  1. I'm not getting into a pissing match to compare baseball knowledge, I've gotten past the age of 14, thanks. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but heres the truth....the manager of a baseball team...see, he doesnt get to actually PLAY during the game...I know, it did happen with Pete Rose, and it happened lots before Rose, but JM doesnt play the field himself. Its hard for him to get that key 8th inning RBI double, or get that strikeout to leave the runners stranded when he isn't on the field. Thanks for playing.
  2. But if he was able to go against the Yankees, it woulda been a completely different outcome!! Rrrrrrrrrrrright
  3. Guess i'm lucky to be that 25th person that does know baseball...OK, you other 24...front-and-center!!! what are your names?
  4. I'm done....great arguments . Managers are not the scapegoats that you all make them out to be. Talent must produce, period. I don't care if Connie Mack is on the bench
  5. Thank you cw...I can't f***ing believe that people are still whining about that. Ebb and flow, its part of baseball. Even the best team in the league will lose 60 games this year.
  6. JM doesnt f***ING produce anything, except a lineup card. And its been the same pretty much everynight, which was everyones gripe for so long. He held Buehrle back for rests sakes, good or bad. JM remembers how s***ty the pitching staff was come playoff time in 2000, and he wants to avoid that situation if at all possible. Dude, JM has nothing to do with what happens every AB, or every pitch. I've grown quite weary of people thinking that everything that is wrong with this team is his fault. I've been against JM for quite a while, but I won't PISS and MOAN about every decision he makes, like others on these boards. BTW, real good comeback argument there
  7. Holy s***...if you think that the main reason the team wins is "karma", then I have lost all respect for athletes. I think talent overcomes 'karma' everytime in my book. As for JM, yeah he has the talent to manage...uh, how is HE supposed to produce? Shall he carry the bats out for the guys to the batters box, so they dont have to? Should he throw the warmup pitches for the pitcher every inning? Um, the producing is up to the guys ON the field, not IN the dugout. PERIOD
  8. So what does it matter who pitches? The move was made by JM with the best of intentions in mind. The way he handled it was bad, but it was for the right reasons.
  9. Come on The Cheat...say it...say, "Douglas" "douwers"
  10. What a load of crap...>Detroit announcers just said that MLB sent a letter to KW, saying Frank couldn't use an aluminum bat for BP anymore. What BS
  11. Yeah..."really keeping up the concentration at the same level it is when we play good teams.
  12. Between anthonys baited posts, and Haywood Jablomes endless ranting...is this WSI?
  13. Not you, Yahtzee...talking about all the boo-hooing about Cotts starting yesterday. A win vs the Yanks and a win vs the Tigers all count the same in total wins. Cry me a river...
  14. Wow...you folks are really grasping for excuses now. Get over it
  15. Come on, don't start that s*** again....we have to have rested pitchers in case we do make it to the playoffs. We don't need JB part @, riding on fumes in the ALDS
  16. Everett can't make a good throw from anywhere in the outfield. Oh well, at least I took the over in this game online.
  17. To quote Fletcher Reed in "Liar, Liar".... AND THE TRUTH........SHALL SET...YOU FREE!~!!
  18. One question though...how is he eligible since he's received money as a professional athlete. It it simply because he earned it playing another sport? Yup, see Chris Wienke and others who went back and played NCAA football, after playing in the minors. Ya, I remembered him when I was typing it. I also remember this kid at Colorado who was a professional snowboarder and they said he'd have to quit during his time at the Unviversity if he wanted to play football. I thought it was a bunch of crap, since he wasn't making money on the collegiate sport he was playing. For pete sakes it was a job that the kid had. Ya, he was an athlete, but he wasn't making the money as a football player. Yeah, Jeremy Bloom was the kids name....damn good punt and kick returner for the Buffs. I remember that
  19. Lots of people tend to block out the fact that Jonny has become a decent pitcher, and he is only 23. With the experience he has gained at his age, I want him on the Southside as that #3/4 pitcher for quite some time if at all possible
  20. Well, the Terps looked quite disinterested in this game. Add to that the fact that all-world RB Bruce Perry didn't play due to injury, along with 11, thats eleven other players that were hurt for that game. That being said, its still quite concerning that the Terps played as bad as they did. Now, NIU is a solid team, but honestly Maryland making a trip to NIU was a nothing to win, everything to lose situation for the Terps. I don't quite understand the reasoning of scheduling that game.
  21. With that being said, wouldn't you agree that Jonny G has become a quite decent #3/4? I am pleased with his performance, expecially after mid-May. Cotts will never last if he doesn't figure out how to get the BB:K and BB/9 IP ratios in order.
  22. Wow!!! I am thoroughly impressed!!! f*** the NBA, its crap. Also known as the National Work Release Program. I think I should market the NBA. Our new slogan? "It's the NBA, every team makes a run. You only have to watch the last 3 minutes of ANY game!!!"
