He hasn't got that many chances because he sucks with a capital "S". And our "closer" has only achieved 11 saves with a team that has won 55+ games? A "closer" who's first 1-2-3 inning on Wednesday against KC was his first since April? A "closer" who should face 3-4 batters a game in a save situation with an ERA of 5.4? That's a 5.4 ERA when all he usually has to do is, hypothetically, face 1.... 2.... 3 batters? Billy Beane would love dealing with you more than he loves stealing from KW..... MORON! :fyou Well, to put things right, the team only had 42 wins when Koch had his last save opportunity...and 11 saves of 42 wins is still not good, but I just wanted the stats to be righted here, I'm not getting into the argument..have fun

I like to think, judging by my daily debates with LDF, CubKilla, aboz, etc, that I am the biggest Koch supporter around. I have confidence in him, and really wanted to see him come in when we had the 8-5 lead last night. That way, we have Schoene for tonight if we need him. Now that puts TONS of pressure on Billy, because he will most likely be pitching tonight vs Seattle, a team that has broken our closers hearts multiple times before. Fact is, his velocity has been going up slowly, I remember 91-92 in April being all the gun would say. I have seen 95-96 here lately, and I further believe that Oakland blew his arm out last year with no regards for his future. He was the closer, and it didn't matter how much he was being used, because he wanted the ball when the game is on teh line, no matter what. I think we'll see Billy catch on here real soon, and I for one will sit back and smile.

Schoeneweis CANNOT start.....its fact. He is a relief pitcher that hasn't even thrown 3 innings in an outing. It was already said that they were strongly considering bringing up Cotts, but since SEattle hits over .270 as a team vs. lefties, it will be Danny Wright. The only mystery right now is who will be offthe 25 man roster to make room for Danny....my vote goes for Role Player White, or maybe Harris.

b/c he has major league experience and success. Well, personally...I'm for loyalty..so if I can get Robbie back here at a decent price, then that leaves the money that it would cost for Vidro to resign other parts of this team, your CLees, Buehrles, etc...Don't get me wrong, Vidro is a talent, but I have no problem at all having Robbie patrolling second base at the age of 36. Keep the team intact, sans Everett, Roleplayer White, and maybe Jose...but only lose Jose if we can get a nicer name in here at SS...which probably won't happen.
