This would be from South Carolina to Chicago, by myself...I'm gonna need to know where I should stay, who from the boards is gonna be around, what the hell do I do between games(where do I eat, and who is gonna go with me)....So any help you can provide, it will be appreciated. EDIT...DAMNIT...I meant 4th-6th

Good catch, Heads....I just saw what you are talking about....ahh, those ESPN codewriters.
-
Hmmm, so whats the minor league talent experts opinion on what we gave up?
-
I have approximately 0% faith in David Sanders getting guys out as a situational lefty. Quite honestly, he'll be the next guy to be back in AAA when Wunsch comes back.
-
I noticed on your sig aboz, Buehrles Whip and BAA are way up this year...hopefully its on the downward curve after the horrendous start.
-
Marte has a key role already...he is THE lefty out of the bullpen that we trust and go to the most. You make him the closer, then we have NO situational lefty to go to alte in the game.
-
I'm not saying experiment with him...but if Gordon starts to falter...AND Koch has his problems worked out, then there is no question he should be the closer. Its not an experiment, its a FACT. The guy is a closer, and a damn fine one when everything is right. And then we would have, IMO, the BEST 2 setup men in the AL in Marte and Gordon.
-
I won't rehash what I've said in EVERY Koch thread on here, but if Koch gets it all figured out, he should be the closer, thats what he was brought here to do. Gordon knew we already had a closer when he signed, and as for his feelings getting hurt and getting mad at Manuel if he loses his closer job.....you are kidding right? Boo hoo for him then, these guys are here to do a job, and right now Gordon is doing his, Koch isn't...so thats why we have people pitching in the current roles. Koch was hitting 95 last night, I have no reason to think that with more arm rest, he can hit his old 98-99 again.
-
I agree Yasny...he had raised his average signifigantly(sp?) before he was benched for Everett...and gives his all for every ball hit to him.
-
You think next year..we could have...LF CLee, CF Rowand/Harris, RF Ordonez, 3B Crede, SS ???, 2B Alomar, 1B Konerko/Thomas, C Olivo/??.....with Loaiza, Buehrle, Garland guaranteed 3 starters...we have some holes to fill.
-
I think Robbie has got some good baseball left in him...and I always hated seeing him beat us with both the bat and the glove in Cleveland.
-
Then you are starting to talk about a whole different Sox team. I'm not for that....maybe, MAYBE one of those moves...Colon trade especially is ok with me. Ponson only if JR will sign the guy, and the Pitt guys can go somewhere else for all I care. There is too much money tied to Kendall and Giles...and if that money is guaranteed to them, thats less that JR will give our homegrown guys that deserve it.
-
I'm all for Robbie coming back next year. Some of the plays he has made in his limited time here show that he can still play with the best of them. And he wouldnt cost TOO much for 1 more run with a contender.
-
Me personally, I'd rather have another left handed junk thrower, a la Buehrle...like Josh Stewart...as the #5...then back to Colon at #1. Buehrle at #2, and then Loaiza and Garland...break up the righties, and DEFINATELY...dont put Stewary and Buehrle back to back..I thought that was a BIG mistake by JM earlier this year...
-
I'm still kinda iffy on Ponson too...if we do a trade and sign, maybe...but for all the guys we are giving away in trades this year, I wanna see some committment to the ones we are getting in return. I'm not against Robbie coming back next year to play second...we have no one else MLB ready, cept Willie and i'm not sure he can play everyday in MLB.
-
Guys, fact is...this team is 3rd in the league in defense...I woulda never thought that could happen.
-
You complain about Koch, and you want Escobar?? That guy has some serious control issues sometimes. A whip over 1.5, an ERA at 4.50, and he has been HORRENDOUS at home this year, with an ERA over 7.00 and a WHIP near 2.00!!! Thats no improvement to me.
-
Jason, what about Brian Cooper? He is putting up decent numbers in the shoebox that is Knights Stadium...he seems to have good enough numbers for a #5, unless we really want the lefty Porzio in that spot.
-
Not getting into this argument again...hes had problems, and I'll leave it at that. He will get better, and I'll still be his biggest supporter.
-
I don't want any of the Pads prospects. Other then Khalil Greene or someone like Xavier Nady. Peavy is damn good too. Sox need guys that can help this team win. BOOOOO!!! No more of that name Jason, Khalil Greene.....we've been over this before. I am content with the team as is....would like to get someone to take over at SS next year, not someone overpaid and getting older....face it, with these moves we have made, we became a lot older team than we were, and that was one thing that made this team so good...the fact that they were so young, and had a chance to be together for a while.
-
Boy, any chance to take a Pot shot at Koch, and it is taken.
-
Again, we agree....that was the only bad thing that came out of the Everett trade.....Rowand was really starting to look good in CF, had his bat going, then he is given a seat on the bench...I like Rowand, and he really shoulda got his shot all year this year.
-
The thing is, Everett won't be here next year...and we'll need CLee or whoever we are gonna play in LF....Jason, what does Jeremy Reed play in the outfield?
-
T.Yofu (L 7-6) 5.1 8 5 5 1 3 1 He didnt do too well, and seeing as he is in AA, at his age....I'm not sure if he'll ever get a shot up here. Ginter is probably next in line.
-
I was saying that Koch has only blown 4 saves this year...but if he is righted...we have 3 guys that can all close if necessary...what we do need is an innings eater out of the pen who won't get shelled a la Glover. ahhh, i see what you are saying, again i meant no offense ok. the thought of waiting for botch to correct himself, it might be too late. we need someone now with the race as close as it is now. i wish rex, mnf were on, we can find out if any of our young arms are ready to pitch 1 or 2 innnings. Rauch and Ginter are the only two ready in AAA. Munoz could be up, but his numbers dont' warrant it. I think Munoz was used so much that he just needs a break and next year he will dominate, probably with the Sox. Thats exactly what I was thinking....Munoz pitched a TON last year, and the guy is a small guy, that has to take a toll on him. We need to look at the Pen, and see who is expendable right now...I still think Wright could do the job that Glover is assigned right now, and Wunsch can take Sanders role if he is ready.
