    Koch

I didn't see the BBTN broadcast, but Brantley never has impressed me in the past shows. Koch has never been effective this year that I can remember can anyone else? I don't think he has ever shown the 100 MPH fastball he is so famous for. Plain and simple the trade for Foulke was bad. The trade was for economics, plain and simple....if KW doesn't make that trade, Foulke is here for 2003...then he walks...doesnt matter how much money you show him(which with JR, wouldn't have happened anyway). So then we have no closer, and nothing to show for Foulkes time here. So we trade him, get what looks on paper like a workhorse closer with serious heat, AND a pretty good lefty pitcher too. We sign Koch now, avoid the arbitration that would have come wth Foulke (and he wouldnt have accepted), and all looks well. Now, the problem is, obviously Koch has been severly overworked my Oakland and Toronto in his past. This I DO blame KW for. Closers don't pitch the amount that Koch has in his MLB career so far. Everyone forgets that there is NO WAY IN HELL that Foulke was gonna stay here any longer than he had to. Remember, Foulke too, had thrown a ton of innings over the past few years. I think he was amongst the top few in the majors. But also remember, Jason, that Foulkes 85 mph heater and 79 mph change can IN NO WAY do the same arm damage as trying to reach back and throw the ball 99+ mph every time....that takes its toll on ANY arm..ask Trevor Hoffman, Matt Anderson, etc...
  2. What about Hummel? The guy isn't doing too bad in AAA...I'm sure the org. hasn't forgotten about him..

  4. Go say hi to Wayne while youre at the Stardust, too....
  5. His pitching was SO terrible that he gave up a bloop single, a broken-bat double, and struck out 3 in 2 innings. If thats bad, then we have some real s***ty pitchers..hell, Buehrle gave up 10 hits in 6+ innings...he must be considered a complete f***nut by those standards.

    Koch

You, there...everyone....lets all blame the 2003 White Sox' problems on Billy Koch!!! Now that our other scapegoat, Jimenez is gone, we MUST lay the blame somewhere!!! Koch is having some troubles, yes, but I'll be damned if I think its right to say s*** like, "Thursdays loss was Koch's fault." Bulls***. Check Fatass #40, and the rookie named David Sanders...check those 9 runs, and tell me that its Koch's fault.
  7. WTF?? WE are STILL blaming that loss on a guy that gave up 1 run in 2 IP, not the Fatass that can't overpower anyone all of a sudden? Sounds like scapegoat written all over it. Must be the in-thing to blame Koch for everything right now

    Colon

As long as he is not here in 2004, I'm happy...with Buehrle, Loaiza, Garland...thats a start...then we HAVE to find 2 more starters, preferably one a lefty(maybe Josh Stewart). But with that being the case, we may have to trade Colon this year to get anything of value before he walks away.
  9. No, no, no....not Southern Cal....South Carolina....f*** the WEst coast USC too
  10. sd have a great ss that is project to make it in the bigs next yr, that player is kallid greene(sp) the sd is going for marquee names in the of and 3b to help them Ya, talk as of late is that San Diego is going to find a second baseman and keep Khalil at short, but they do have the option of moving him to 2nd and signing a damn good shortstop. Khalil was one of the best college players ever at Clemson (I think it was Clemson). f*** Khalil Greene...Clemson Asswipe...USCs Drew Meyer is s***loads better...and kicked his ass in back to back games in 2002 CWS...sorry Jason, but ya hit a little close to home there
  11. JR isnt gonna gamble on an overseas player, i dont see it happening...we need a MLB shortstop who also can hit...and Frank stays

    Colon

I just hope we don't offer him after 2003....I have no problems watching him walk away
  13. Refresh my memory....I keep thinking of the LFer Matsui...is there another wanting to make the move to the US? Not like JR is gonna do any signing of overseas players. I'd like to see Tejada, but it wont happen...although, the way he is hitting this year (.247), who knows. But Frank stays
  14. I'm not so sure about your last addition there. Rickey Henderson can flat out play the game of baseball. And at the age of 44, he's in better shape than alot of MLB players out there. I don't like the guy at all, but he can still get the job done.
  15. When Colon, Everett, Sandy, and Robbie walk after this year (or get traded), what kind of money does that free up. Obviously none from Robbie and Everett, but Colon and Sandy, and isnt Jose a FA too? What kind of $$$ are we talking here

    Deftones?

Cali, check out Closure...not sure what you are into, but its pretty solid rock. It doesnt hurt that my friend is the lead guitarist They are starting to get a good bit of airplay.
  17. If not our loyalty, we have Carlton Fisk situation Part II. JR lets Frank walk, or trades him after what he has done for the franchise, and there are LOTS og angry fans, and JR doesnt have that many fans to be pissing off. I don't see him doing that again, he and Frank are pretty close I thought.
  18. Capn12

    Colon

I think he's pitching like a 300 lb fatass finess wannabe pitcher. I can't figure it out....throw the damn ball, Colon..most guys in the league can't catch up with your high heat, f***ing use it!!
  19. I'm sorry, but I'm not ready to see Thomas in any uniform other than a Sox one. He's the reason I started following this team back in 1991. I'd have a hard time seeing him walk away and not retire in the Chicago uni. Does that mean that it is the best for the club to do? No, just my preference, and we already had a huge P.R. blunder when Fisk was excavated from the team the way he was. Frank deserves the right to retire in Chicago. Everett won't be here next year, and Daubach is only a one year contract if I remember correctly, so then we have our 2000 situation again, with Thomas/Konerko at 1st/DH, and CLee in LF. I don't think anyone is ready to hand over LF to Borchard, the guy just isnt MLB ready.
  20. Jesus, that was moronic....WTF is CLee doing? Diving for a ball he cant catch anyway?
  21. HOT DAMN!! Sandy with a sacrifice bunt to move the runner to 3rd...Did someone sneak into the dugout and tell the guys that small ball does work?
  22. I heard that Jason...I'm stuck with the Detroit announcers, I'm watching on MLB.TV at work
  23. While I still like picking up Alomar (not at the cost of Ring, though), I was definately ready to not see Jimenez on the big league roster anymore. But, I do think we could have kept him, he had options left I believe, send him to Charlotte. Everyone knows that now we have no real second baseman next year, and we GAVE one to Cincinnati
  24. Jason, even you have to agree that There is a batter option for CF on the bench in Rowand...the guy finally started hitting, and hes been on the bench ever since. That and the fact that Everett just can't cover the ground that Rowand can. But then, you have to DH Everett or put him in left, and sit Lee
  25. If this is the case, then I retract my request for Frank at First.... but Jerry is still a dumbf***....Everett CANNOT play centerfield...Rowand CAN
