  1. Ginter is 3-2, 3.00 ERA and 11 saves since taking over the closing role. 57 IP, 52 H, only 2 HR allowed, 19 BB and 43 K's. Not too shabby
  2. I personally would be satisfied with a bullpen that consisted of White, Gordon, Marte, Wunsch, Koch and Wright, with Porzio as the swingman. Wright becomes your long reliever, White and Wunsch are your situational guys, Marte and Gordon are the setup guys, and Koch is closing when all is right. Porzio starts as the #5, or relieves if his spot is skipped. With Colon, Buehrle, Loaiza and Garland...thats got potential to be a damn fine staff. I would like a lefty at the end of the rotation as the #5 though. Can Porzio do it consistently? Time will tell I guess.
  3. I agree, Wrights mechanics are not there right now...and I still have confidence in him being a real solid #3-4 starter with us. But with Buehrle, Loaiza, Garland guaranteed to be our top 3 next year, and IF Colon begins to pitch consistently like he is capable of, thats a Top 4 rotation that can compete with anyone in the AL IMO. The key is, with Colons season going the way it has so far, will it bring his cost down enough to where KR will resign him?
  4. If Wunsch AND Wright come back up, who goes? Sanders will probably be #1 chosen to go back, but who else?
  5. I'm all for Mike Porzio filling the role that JM proposed to him, where he is the 5th starter, but is still available to pitch in the Bullpen if someone gets shelled as a starter. He can go 5 IP every 5 days, and still be available if necessary. Face it, we don't really have ANYONE in AAA that is MLB ready to pitch, even Wright is struggling, and Stewart is struggling mightily. I have no reasons to not like Porzio yet, he has kept us in both games he has started, which is the #5 starters role.

I still long for Ray-ray at second (at least till we got Alomar, but he'll be gone after this year). Sure, he went into Ray Durham, Homerun hitter mode at some point every year, but I still liked him

The trade was made for this yr... and on those terms kenny lost this trade. Long term...That f***ing geek foulke is leaving the A's after this year, and William Koch is here for two more years with a chance to regain his 2002 form. In addition to that we could have just added a front of the rotation starter who is a lefty. Unless Joe Valentine pans out to be pretty good... I think Kenny still come out the victor of the koch deal. all depends if we lost in the playoff b/c of a lack of a closer. cotts is good and i like him, but that comp pick could be a hell of a player. and that comp pick could be Scott Ruffcorn, Eddie Pearson, Mike Caruso, Corwin Malone....crap shoot it is, and I'd rather have proven players, then random chances. or they could be prior, wood, peavy, and some of the better know prospects. i would rather have foulke now and a chance to win now and take that crap shot at a comp pick. i don't know about you, but i am tired or waiting for tomorrow f*** yeah, me too...but I dont think that we have lost too many games based on the closer alone. There are SO many problems with this team, at least there were early in April and May.
  9. Sorry, I'm completely white...cant help you there
  10. Yeah, i try not to bite down on too many rib bones.

Colon,....thats a whole other story..but not one that can be blamed on KW, for once. The guy just doesnt give a damn apparently..or he doesnt want to be a power pitcher anymore.

  13. and that bat-boy in 2000...what the hell was his name?

I, by no means, am defending KW...just Koch....Kw and the advanced scouting is to lay this on

Thats it Murcie...long-term we are better off...cause Foulke is walking, hopefully someone can straighten out Koch, and Cotts has a potential future.
  16. bring back the guy that yelled in the front row....Get-Up guy...its his fault too
  17. Capn12

    Koch

Yeah, those were the intentions...but seemingly someone would have made sure Koch was healthy enough to actually do it.

Foulke is walking no matter who he is with in 2003.
  19. and Joe Nossek...he should get up and walk around sometime.
  20. Don't forget Jimenez...he is probably still getting blamed daily for something that goes wrong, although the guy was a blockhead.

You think that has no long-term damage on an arm? Think again
  22. Well f***, you can't really be the closer when the manager doesnt call your number in the 9th. Theres only so much that Koch himself can do....he can fess up and tell someone that he is hurt if he is, or he can just go out there when called upon, do what he can, and hope to get back into good graces..this is 2002 Foulkegate all over again. We may never know if the guy can overcome his problems or not.
  23. Capn12

    Koch

Yes, advanced scouting and analysis shouldve been done on Koch's arm, based JUST on his usage in the past.
  24. Capn12

    Koch

The Marte that is 5/12 in save opportunities? Face it, fact is that Koch can't throw 100 mph right now, no one knows why. We can speculate as to why, I personally think its the constant overuse in the past
  25. Koch has blown 4 saves, the same exact number that Gordon has, in 6 less games. Koch is 11/15, Gordon is 5/9, and Marte is 5/12. Tell me how Koch based on stats is such a waste, when his numbers are better than the other 2 guys?
