That's a Walk Off Wild Pitch White Sox Winner!
Dick Allen replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I was watching the game with my dad and was asking him before it happened if he could remember the last game he saw with no RBI. The weirdest part of that last play to me was it was a bullseye to the umpires mask. He didn’t flinch at all. I’m sure he assumed it would be caught but at some point you would think he would be able to tell it wasn’t going to happen and make a little move. -
Have to give Yaz a little credit. At a game I was at earlier this year which featured a 2 hour wait for rain delay at the start, he was working in the bullpen on his pitch blocking during the delay.

It's amazing, Stone talks about his curveball not being a strike, and they damn bear swung at every one of the. Eloy did have a check swing and Moncada laid off of a 1st pitch. The Sox need a huge injection of baseball IQ.
-
I think they should change the replay rule to it doesn't matter what the call on the field was, just tell us if he was safe or out.
-
I think he was safe.

Bruce actually pointed out to Hahn that the team has been mediocre at best a lot longer since they were the darlings of baseball. You don't get that much from local guys

White Sox fans complain about Grandal, but if they didn’t sign him, they almost assuredly would have extended James McCann, and most would have been thrilled. Look at his numbers since leaving the White Sox. They look like his numbers before he came to the White Sox when he was so bad the Tigers non tendered him. Now he makes quadruple what they would have had to pay him.

I don’t know. Pedro’s first ejection he told to umpire to go f*** himself several times

Seby is really an awful hitter. His 3 HR game has to be one of the least likely occurrences in MLB history.
-
Seems obvious.

Is Joe back yo being Joe?

You draft the guy that's going to be the best player. For the last 50 years, the Sox firstbaseman has usually been their best player.
-
Frank Thomas says hi. Frank thought he would be a Brave but Scherholz decided what you said and drafted Tyler Houston.
-
Gavin Sheets might be the second coming of Dan Pasqua.
-
Aaron Rowand would have caught Miggys hit. He would have been out 6 weeks though.

Eloy is nursing a leg injury. Go figure. This pitcher had an ERA over 6 in AAA

The next time they are within 5 of .500 will be Opening Day next season.

Please fire Rick Hahn.

I'm not going to fault them for putting Liam on the roster, but Crochet with the MLB team just reeks of desperation. Bummer has struggled. Diekman was a Rick Hahn deal. It made no sense last year and to have to pay him for this season.....If he had a reliable lefty or two in the bullpen, Crochet would be working things out in Charlotte. But let him get killed here. .

Clevinger & Andrus Back, Scholtens optioned, Alberto DFA
Dick Allen replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He was on the Dodgers last year. Had worse numbers than he did with the White Sox. Could only get a minor league deal. His OPS against lefties, considering he's 30 and his career OPS+ is only 80, isn't going to stay at 1.100. He is a dime a dozen guy. The choice was Elvis or him. They are paying Elvis more, and Elvis can still play a decent SS. They made the right choice. -

But he's a spring training all star. What will be interesting is what they do when Hamilton is ready. If Frazier keeps hitting, I don't know how they pick Billy over him. -
Liam Hendriks' return appears imminent
Dick Allen replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Of course Caulfield has a friend who uses malfeasance when discussing baseball. Liam is obviously not in midseason form. Would have liked Pedro to have used him in the blowout Wednesday. He needs to pitch. I don’t know how it’s fair to him or anyone else to use him in tight games when he’s not near peek form yet.
